This is the 2nd time I have taken my 2 year old son to Craig. In between I have taken him to other places which resulted in full on melt downs. Nobody has managed to cut his hair. Craig is so patient, calm and has such a gentle nature with him without fussing. My son has allowed him to cut his hair with no tears or meltdowns. Definitely would recommend to anyone! X

After cutting our son’s hair since he was 2 (now 7), after a number of traumatic experiences we never thought we’d ever be able to get his haircut during the day without it being traumatic. We’ve been coming to Craig for 6 months, booking monthly appointments for consistency, and can happily say after just this short time Ben had his first full hair cut today. Craig is so understanding, patient and kind, not just for our son but for us as parents too. I hope Craig knows just how special he is to SEN families like us. For all the parents out there that felt like we did 6 months ago, there is hope, you just need to find the right person. We cannot thank you enough Craig!

After many traumatic experiences with getting my little boys hair I can now finally say today was a breeze! My little boy is currently on the ASD pathway, Craig was great and took his time cutting his hair reassuring him along the way whilst he played with the toys available in the shop. The thought of taking him for a hair cut fills me for anxiety and I can now say that feeling is gone! No tears, no meltdowns just a calm experience. I would 100% recommend and I will be returning for my boys future hair cuts.

We visited Craig to get my sons first hair cut. I'd held off getting his hair cut for a while as my son is neurodivergent and a handful. I saw Craig on Tiktok, showcasing how he gives hair cuts to individuals with additions needs and I thought, perfect! I booked online, selected the service I needed and that was it, everything was really simple. We travelled about 11 miles to the salon, it was easy to find with plenty of side streets to park in. Craig is warm and friendly, very welcoming and understanding. He pretty much chased my son all over the salon to cut his hair, and he did a fabulous job. My son didn't even realise he was getting his hair cut; he was too distracted by all the sensory toys on offer! All in all, a brilliant experience for both me and my son and we will definitely be returning.

We finally got to try Craig's Barber Shop today after getting in on a cancellation 👏🏻 More than anything I was looking for a barber to confidently cut Sebs curls but having seen Craig in a couple of the SEN groups I follow, I was pleased to be able to take Seb to a more relaxed barbers. Safe to say, we can’t go back to a regular barber after today 😆 Seb has until now been just about able to cope with an appointment at a regular barbers. I had stand by him and constantly reminding him to sit up, sit still, stop wiggling, concentrate on keeping still, stop chewing the cape…… the list goes on! He would manage it but it’s stressful for everyone, not least the barber! Today at Craig’s, Seb spent a few minutes playing with the toys both before and after his haircut. He wasn’t asked to keep still once and the banter between them was hilarious! 100% safe to be himself. The cut is exactly what I asked for and thought it would be and I am looking forward to achieving some huge hair goals for Seb with Craig’s expertise.

I brought my autistic son to Craig’s barber shop for the first time today and it was honestly the best experience we have ever had when getting a haircut! Craig is so understanding and patient that it made the haircut experience much more comfortable for both me and my son. I will never take my son anywhere else for his haircut now

I went in expecting to be on my phone the whole time like I usually am at hairdressers and ended up spending the whole time chatting. It was super chill and welcoming, prices are amazing, and I got exactly what I wanted (which I don't always at other places). I'm autistic and queer and wasn't sure I'd find a good place when looking but it was amazing there.

I honestly can’t thank Craig enough for how he was with my son today. Bobby is 3 and is autistic. I have previously taken him to a barber where I had to sit him on my knee and hold his arms so he could get his hair cut, it was distressing for both of us. The experience at Craig’s Barber Shop could not have been more different. He totally let Bobby take the lead, understood his needs and instantly made us both feel comfortable. Bobby had a great time playing with the toys and came out with a very smart haircut too, couldn’t ask for more. Couldn’t recommend Craig enough, thank you ☺️

My son is austic and struggles with hair cuts and today was the first time he has had his hair cut without becoming upset/frustrated. It was a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and we can’t wait to come again. Craig was lovely with Ethan and followed his lead. When Ethan became a bit fed up near the end, Craig wasn’t phased at all and understood how Ethan felt. I would highly recommend Craig.

Couldn’t recommend Craig enough. Our son really struggles with haircuts, but Craig was so laidback, understanding and patient with him, giving him reassurance and praise and we managed to get a pretty decent trim in just 30 minutes. We’re really happy and would recommend Craig to anyone. We’ll be back as soon as we can.

Had our 1st appointment with Craig , my 3 year old boy is autistic and nonverbal and gets super overwhelmed in new places or with new people. We travelled from Liverpool and Craig was brilliant , really catered to his needs and even though he got upset ,as a parent I felt it was a safe non judgemental environment. Was well worth the journey and actually loved his haircut, already booked in to go again.

After many attempts to get my autistic son's haircut we were recommended to Craig by a friend. Usually my son hates his hair being cut with clippers or scissors and gets really distressed. Craig managed to not only cut his hair beautifully but also kept him calm. By the end he didn't even seem particularly bothered about Craig cutting his hair. Booked in again as it was a fantastic experience.

Craig is just wonderful with my ASD son. He originally came to the house to build trust up, and now my son is quite happy to go to Craigs shop and get his hair cut there. The patience and compassion Craig shows is priceless. Highly recommended.

I finally braved booking and attending a cut for my son who is 4 with autism. Honestly Craig is the most professional,calming and knowledgeable barber we have met and believe me we have met a few! Craig’s barber shop is fantastic for all ages and diversity.Craig is very knowledgeable and gave myself and my child support throughout his cut. We travelled 1hr 50mins and we have booked in once a month for the foreseeable as it was well worth it. Craig you are amazing and I am so thankful you have made a space for those who have more needs and support. We are so lucky to have someone like you.

We brought our 6 year old autistic son to Craig’s today with his teacher tagging along to help because it’s been so difficult to get him near a barbershop, let alone actually getting his haircut! From the second we arrived our son was happy to just walk in and explore. Craig is amazing, he managed to cut the wild mop of hair that has barely seen a brush in the last year never mind a pair of scissors. The biggest difference is that Craig just lets the children be themselves and he works around them, rather than them having to sit and stay still, they can play and move around and Craig somehow still manages to get a haircut going. I wasn’t sure what to expect as we have tried numerous barbers and hairdressers but I wish we had found Craig sooner! Booking our next appointment now, definitely worth the 45 minute drive! Thanks Craig!
