Everything you need to know to bake delicious, healthy and 'foolproof' bread. Michael is a very patient teacher, whose classes are suitable for those with no experience of bread making, as well as for those very familiar with the 'traditional' methods, who can learn an entirely new (and in my opinion, far improved) method. You leave with starter and some preprepared dough, and most people will already have something suitable at home to bake it in, so you can get going straight away. Michael's passion for this bread is contagious, I have been sharing it with everyone I speak to. It's so generous of The Gift of Bread, to share all of this completely free of charge, making great bread accessible to all. I can honestly say the loaves that I have made since getting home are fantastic - the best!

Michael was very passionate about his bread and this really came across. He was very knowledgeable and backed up everything he said with scientific research. It was a very enjoyable day and I know I will carry on making the bread. My daughter, who is gluten intolerant has successfully eaten the bread and really enjoys it. Thank you Michael!

Brilliant course, made my own bread from dough made in class, not bad at all, my husband eats it and is not ill, he has not eaten gluten for years. Michael and his partner are very friendly and informative, really is a must for anyone who wants to eat good, wholesome, proper bread. Never for one moment did I think I would make my own bread! love it.

Spent last Sunday making bread. Really interesting and enjoyable. Friendly, informal atmosphere with hands-on sour-dough bread-making experience led by a very enthusiastic, knowledgeable and entertaining sour-dough advocate who was totally passionate about his subject. Small group and everyone came away with a couple of delicious loaves plus enough dough (that we had each prepared individually) for another three loaves and a starter for the next batch after that. All for free. Definitely to be recommended even for a complete novice like me.

The day was informative, and I can’t fault the amazingly generous results I came home with. The venue and equipment was all immaculate. The only negative I would say was that it was rather a long session, with a lot of being talked at all while standing round a table. Even over lunch, I felt I had to keep listening. The gentleman was a delightful enthusiast, but I think maybe he could have planned what he wanted to get across more, and then not gone into quite so much detail.- hence the 4 rather than 5 star rating

An excellent introduction to sourdough bread. We were given loads of information and had great fun making a loaf which we were able to take home together with what we needed to continue with our journey with sourdough. I would recommend this for anybody.

We had a very enjoyable day making the bread, and all produced good loaves at the end of the day. Michael our instructor was very informative and explained how the ingredients and they way the bread is made were key to it being gluten free and it’s implications for Coeliacs.

A Fantastic workshop, you can really sense the genuine passion in the lovely couple running the classes, they are both working so hard to inspire and educate, and they look after you so well, they are extremely generous (no charging for the workshop) and you take home baked bread and dough for the next loaf. High quality, spotlessly clean premises and a friendly welcome. Highly recommended booking.

Full-on experience, thoroughly enjoyable and enlightening. Michael is very passionate about the benefits of sourdough making for coeliacs. The added benefit was a fresh batch of bread dough for us to make at home, and a sourdough starter. The perfect way to spend a summer's day

A very informative and enjoyable experience. The work being done there is very important and should be shared throughout the country. I have been gifting bread to everyone I know since I took the class. I freeze the dough balls and have copied the proving/baking instructions and have been sharing homemade bread with friends and family. Thank You

A fantastic, kind and interesting shared experience, in the art of this superfood. The owner Michael and his partner provided a really welcoming and interesting day in the science, production and art of ‘Modified Gluten’ bread making. His passion for whole foods and enthusiasm about sharing knowledge made for a really fulfilling day. 100% recommended.
