Ordered many packets of seeds and they arrived on time as promised during summer. They camed undamaged and with instructions how to plant them. All seeds germinated per instruction and some germinated really fast. Planted them during summer at 25c 50% humidity. Seeds were fresh and undamaged. If i had more place i would plant even more :)

I had a voucher to spend and asked for some suggestions of what I could sow now to sell next year at a Charity Open Garden we are hosting. I promptly received a long list of ideas! I cheekily asked if Chiltern seeds could include a few extra packets - I was blown away by their generosity! I have used this company for a number of years now and have always found them to be helpful, I love their choice of seeds and that no plastic packaging is used at all. Keep up the great work.

I have been using Chiltern Seeds for many years and have always found them good value, with excellent service and a friendly and practical approach. I like the catalogue's refreshing honesty and the personal feel it has (incidentally, the Romello cherry tomatoes, bought on the catalogue description) have been amazing. We live in an old cottage and I try always to use heritage seeds where I can and they have a fair range of these, both British and from across Europe. Yesterday, I wanted to order a few seeds for winter sowing and to replace an Arum Picatum which had died. The seeds were no longer on the website, so I enquired and was told they were no longer being stocked. But Nina found a couple of leftover packets, and has added them to my order. No guarantee of germination, but what service and a 'can do' attitude.

Bought a large number and range of seeds this year as starting a cutting garden. All but one had good germination - a white aster - I let them know and they sent me a replacement packet straight away with some added advice and second time around had excellent germination. Really good communication and quick service. Such an interesting range of seeds the only difficulty is making a choice!

Chiltern Seeds offer a fantastic, diverse range of seeds. They are reasonably priced and provide sufficient sowing advice to ensure success. Growing from seed is not always easy but the information provided by Chiltern seeds is extremely helpful in aiding success. The website is very easy to use and the customer service excellent. Chiltern Seeds is always my first port of call for seed purchases. Great to be able to grow unusual and heritage varieties. I highly recommend this lovely family run business.

This is a brilliant seed company, and I now use practically only Chiltern seeds. I buy quite a lot of seeds as I grow cut flowers, and the selection here is fantastic. The grouping is very practical and by choosing Cut Flowers on the website I’ve been introduced to many new varieties. Ive also grown a lot of their perennials from seed, which for me has been an economic way to bulk up my garden. The seed seem very fresh. I’ve used them for a number of years and have never been disappointed. If you have a query they are easy to get in touch with, polite and friendly. I can’t think of a single negative thing to say, hence five stars!

The red cornflowers are tiny , a quarter of my other blue cornflowers which I grew from my own seeds- very poor quality and disappointing ; The Achillea which is meant to be a mixed of colours are almost all pale white .. The snapdragons from the multicolour collection are mainly pink … The sweet rockets were fine but had no fragrance.. I wouldn’t buy from this company again although it was recommended to me by a friend.

I am always highly satisfied with the germination and results the seeds give regarding true to description. If I need advice it is on the website and easy to follow. They also include in the post with the seeds a Cultivation Leaflet. I think over the last three decades everything has been just right even the lottery mixtures are really exciting for me to grow. Nicely packed, ecologically friendly seed packets and good results what is not to Love? I buy traditional and non traditional seeds especially Italian cucumbers and enjoy experimentation.

I've bought seed from Chilterns for quite a few years but wonder if the quality of the seed has gone downhill lately. Most recent problem is with 'Too good to pick' colour mix dwarf French beans. Seed bought this spring, Only 25% germination in good conditions. Did complain about some brassica seed previously and, in fairness, they replaced them with good seed. So 4*s.

Very very disappointed. I always use Chiltern and am a good customer. I ordered £26.60 worth. I sowed white campion nothing, I tried again in a solution of hp and water they floated, dry as a bone! Betony the same, sowed twice cold scarification nothing. Mullein sporadic. A pack of Rudbekia seeds only 5 germinated. Verbena, lesser knapweed winter savory and purple toadflax sporadic with a few plants from a pack of seed on all of them. Absolutely terrible. I will not be using Chiltern ever again. Your seeds are not the cheapest, small amount given. I didn't even receive a confirmation email as proof to what I had bought? My PayPal transaction ORY254841NO75835S so to verify that this review is genuine.

Placed first order with them and ordered two packets of seeds. Delivery was quick and order process simple but unfortunately not one seed germinated. Could just be I choose a couple of tricky plants (Korean Feather Grass and Thalictrum delavayi). I will try them again and give them a second chance and hopefully next review will be more positive.

First time i have used these, bought 5 various types of Ipomoea, very poor germination rate, and 1 pack that is growing well (as yet unidentified) is certainly not of the Ipomoea family. Will not use again.

First time using them. My few seeds arrived quickly with a packet of seeds missing! I’ve emailed twice without no replies in 3 weeks. Yes it’s only a packet of seeds under £3. But if this company does this on every order and without an apologetic reply from them - then this is not just stealing they are making on their customers! Sadly I will not be using them again! UPDATE ! 15/03/24 Since writing this review, Chiltern seeds have now responded to my emails and refunded me for my missing seed packet. Thank you and thank you trustpilot for giving me this platform of support.

Having been really unhappy with the non service from the big boys in the seed trade I randomly found Chiltern Seeds. Ordered “Mountain Magic” tomatoes at a good price and, whereas the likes of Suttons etc charge a premium delivery cost, this company simply use 2nd class letter mail ( saving me the price of 1 packet of seed ). Arrived within 4 days in nice airtight packages and a trade card. I will report back as to germination at a later date… but, for now, very impressed !

My recent seed order from Chiltern Seeds was delivered quickly and I LOVE the plastic free packaging! (Why don't other companies use paper-based 'jiffy' bags?! They have a great selection of seeds and, whilst it's too early to say yet how well they'll do, I have high hopes for the 2024 growing season.

The service they provide id good and prices are not unreasonable. I will not be buying from them again this year as in previous years I have had whole packets of seeds not germinate. When contacted they have been helpful and replaced the seeds. However this usually meansthat it is too late to replant for that season
