Original review "8mm aluminimum tubing is actually 8.3mm. That's quite a big inaccuracy, especially when the diameters on their site are specified to 1 or even 2 dp in mm when converted from inches." original title "Poor product tolerances". Update / re: reply: Thank you for your reply, I admit I can find a document on your site in retrospect, which includes this information that BS EN 755 tolerances apply and that the tolerance for 8mm is +/- 0.6m. Actually it says over 8mm so technically 8mm isn't covered but it would seem churlish of me to labour that point! Given that technically the information about tolerance is there, albeit perhaps not as obvious as it could be, and given that I found no information about tolerances when I bought, thus you may argue any tolerance may apply, and given that you took the trouble to reply to my review (which is more customer services than I expect from most these days) I think it's unfair of me to let the 2 star review stand, I'm changing it to a 4. May I suggest you consider your product pages themselves should either feature tolerance information, or simply somewhere a sentence somewhere including the works "specification" and "tolerance" with a link to that document you already have. I probably would have found that. I still think 0.3mm is big, let along 0.6mm, I certainly expected better, but I guess some applications it doesn't matter, maybe it just seems big to me in the context of my use case.

TL;DR Very poor order fulfillment service. Very poor customer service response. The products were good, no damage in delivery, but following the company response to my issue, I would not recommend aluminium-online.co.uk nor order from them again. We needed some items to complete a job for a client over the weekend a fortnight ago and decided to order from aluminium online on the Thursday before the 1pm cut off for express delivery. It saved me having to run out on the Friday to get it in person from our usual supplier as I was really busy. The items were all showing as in stock and I received the order confirmation email and didn't think anything more of it. On the Friday afternoon I checked the delivery company tracking to see when it was to arrive and it hadn't even been received by the delivery company depot until 5.19pm on the Friday. We didn't receive the order until the Monday, pushing our job late. I contacted the company a couple of times and finally got a (very poor) response via email that, rather than explain what happened and give any reassurances about any future orders, they just made up statements and disclaimers that do not appear on their website. Honestly, they would have been better not replying than sending the email they did send.

Fast service and excellent customer service. The hallmark of a good company who care about their reputation. Had a couple of items damaged in transit and they replaced next day, no quibble.

So far very good. Ive recently tried to switch away from another retailer that does metal 4 you due to a few bad experiences with them not delivering goods ordered and slow delivery. Aluminium On line have got metal to me quickly and accurately. What is more, its clean, swarf and coolant free and well wrapped to boot. I hope they can expand their range a tad in to brasses ? Carl

First time user of this company which I found after a google search. I ordered some unequal angle in a 2.5m length. I was surprised at the speed of delivery, impressed by the high quality packaging of such an awkward item and would be delighted to both recommend and use them again as required. Brilliant!

Do not use this company. We ordered on the Friday, paid £10.50 for Express Delivery as we needed the product quickly. However it did not arrive until late the following Tuesday and in the meantime we had bought elsewhere. Yet the company is refusing to cover the return postage. Such bad service!

First time I've used Aluminium Online. Needed to purchase some less-common sizes in smallish quantities. Extremely helpful, good stock, good prices, fast service and beautifully packed to prevent any damage.
