After 5 years of living in Denmark, I had nearly given up on ever learning the language. After trying numerous 'conventional' Danish lessons, I had not yet found a format that was flexible enough for my schedule. However, after I discovered Swap Language, I can honestly my Danish improved more than I could have hoped. The fact that their lessons are readily (and freely) available online meant that I could fit in the classes around my working schedule. What I love most about the Swap Language classes is their focus on just speaking Danish from the beginning, which is often the most intimidating part. The classes are focused on learning useful, day to day language, which meant I could already start applying in real life what I learned in the lesson. Lastly - the classes are so much fun to watch and be a part of! The team are extremely enthusiastic and the teacher, Vigdis, is fantastic at teaching you how to pronounce even the most difficult words. I would highly, highly recommend swap language to anyone hoping to learn Danish, at any level, as it has helped me more than I could have hoped for.

I am enrolled in the Pro plan and I really like it. My favorite thing about Swap Language is that I can learn at my own pace. At first, I was trying to catch up with the content I learned before in other schools and they helped me with that. Now I want to get ready for PD3 fast and they are also very supportive of it.

Amazing way to learn Danish. It is a difficult language but Swap language makes it way more simple, fun and actually useful!! You get to use all that you learn in your daily life. Also, having the lessons available and having the possibility of learning at your own pace makes it much easier to combine it with work, without taking time from any of them!

The lessons are entairtaining and easy to follow, focused on relevant topics and grammar.

I've been looking for an effective self-study online platform for learning Danish for weeks, but all I've found were grammar aggregators, basic flashcards, or out-of-context phrases. Even though all these things are necessary when learning a language, I wanted to see them put into practice in order to better feel the progress and apply what I learned in everyday life. I almost gave up on my search, but at some point I accidentally stumbled upon Swap Language. From the very first on-demand lesson I watched, I was convinced that this was the right platform. Grammar, vocabulary, interesting topics, lively dialogues and just fun - all these components are well balanced within each 25 minute video lesson, making the learning environment exciting and fruitful. I highly recommend Swap Language to everyone, and especially to those who doubt that learning Danish can be fun and engaging.

I had some classes last year and looking forward to re-join the course after summer. Swap Language helps you manage your professional and personal life with the classes as well. Ideal for a more flexible approach. Highly recommend them plus the videos are hilarious!

Relatable, fun, light hearted teaching style working with class times/homework that are achievable and covering relevant subjects. Personally I find this more modern, engaging approach far more effective than the classic classroom method that I have experienced in the past. Good balance of grammar, written and spoken Danish in an environment that makes you feel comfortable to make mistakes. A very positive experience!

I recently started my Danish classes. With my full-time position at Bestseller, it can be hard to find time for extra-curricular, not to mention learning a new language. I think with this course, they really hit the nail on the head - my lessons are short enough that I can learn and still keep up with my day-to-day tasks. I really like that since the first lesson I could speak Danish, which was truly shocking to me! With my teacher (Luna), there is no space to get shy, or self-concious, so I'm automatically forced to get comfortable with Danish. Can't wait for more classes!

Where do I even start? Every single person in Swap language who I met so far seem to be so amazing and good, and dedicated, and soo full of energy, and so motivational, and inspirational! All of the on demand videos are so relevant and very helpful. It is possible to learn Danish and that is thanks to all the hard work you all do in Swap language! Thank you!

I am super happy my company gave me the opportunity to learn and practice Danish with Swap Language. The methodology is great, I watch 3 on-demand lessons by myself and then I have an online speaking lesson with my teacher where I practice what I have learned over the week. It is fantastic the way my teacher makes me apply the grammar I learned in a way I don't realise it is grammar time. I believe that having 1 week for watching the lessons and making my notes, and then practising with the teacher, make it easier to understand the language, work a bit by yourself on the challenges and on the grammar. This really helps me to be ready for the speaking lesson. Before, when I attended a different language danish school I was afraid to speak up, as I didn't have the time to deeply understand the grammar and the rules. Now, I can't wait for the next time with my teacher, I am very excited about this. Last but not least, the lessons on demand are only 25 minutes, which makes it super easy to fit in my life. I don't have excuses for not doing it.

Much more effective at teaching you Danish than being a part of a group of 25 at your local sprogskole. Nice people too. :)

The teaching method seems okay, but there are three problems that I see: 1. When you sign up for a free trial, they clearly state that 3 days before the trial ends they'll notify you. But they didn't. Makes me think that they're shady. 2. The highest level that they currently have is modul 4, even though generally there are 6 in total, making it...unfinished. 3. I found their customer service and general communication style unappealing and overexagerated. They seem to be more focused on flattery than giving a straight answer about anything. One extra thing: I gave their modul 4 a chance, even though I finished modul 4 with a local sprogcenter. I thought that Swap Language could be more efficient, since everyone says so. It was okay, but I decided that it wasn't for me, therefore I tried to cancel my trial period. I did it at least 5 times but the status hasn't changed despite refreshing it and trying again. It could be that the subscription is canceled and they're still allowing to finish the free trial, but it's not clear because it's not confirmed. I think it's something to consider. All in all, based on the way they present themselves, I expected more. Maybe they'll improve.

Learning Danish with Swap Language has helped me a lot during the time I've spent in Denmark. It is the most flexible way of learning a language I have ever heard about. By now, taking on-demand lessons in early mornings has become such a nice routine and I could never make an excuse of not having time to take Danish classes. Moreover, the concept itself is so intriguing that you can literally get as addicted as one can get to NetFlix. Creative videos, well-explained grammar and cultural insights are all combined very efficiently in one lesson. In addition, the teachers are also really motivating and open about their own lives which in my opinion brings the learner closer to a teacher despite of being online. Definitely a trustworthy way to learn and improve your Danish.

SWAP is a really refreshing way to learn. Each session is tailored to a specific topic so you really get to immerse yourself in subjects that are relevant to everyday life. The flexibility of on-demand lessons is a brilliant idea, and has been invaluable. It's easy to catch up or repeat a lesson. Most of all, they make the lessons entertaining and interactive, which I think is key to learning. The videos, characters and costumes are unforgettable!!!

Swap Language has been a great remote language learning experience. Classes include not only grammar instruction, but also helpful cultural insights. Staff is extremely responsive and I find it particularly helpful that all lessons are recorded and available for review, in case one misses a live session or simply wants to revisit the material. The instructors really succeed in making their material entertaining, as well as educational. I will continue to recommend Swap Language to fellow language learners that I encounter on other platforms.

Finally a new, fresh approach to the language learning experience. The swap language team has managed to make language learning not only effective, but also fun, engaging and enriching. My overall experience is a 10/10.

Excellent in every way useful to a new language learner - or even an intermediate one. I have been learning Danish with Swap Language for around 8 months; because I am not naturally good with new languages and lack confidence, I had found the formal schools quite intimidating. Swap Language learning is anything but that. 😊 The online lessons are very well thought-out and structured, so you learn in small chunks so it’s never overwhelming. The teachers are really fantastic - surely the best thing about SWL - full of enthusiasm, warmth, encouragement and smiles. The lessons are live, interactive and often involve everyday scenarios which are often acted out for you - but because they’re online you never feel peer pressure or shy to try out the language. Best of all I feel is the ‘watch again’ facility so if you have a busy lifestyle, you can catch up at your own pace! And download PDFs of lesson materials. As I travel with work this is invaluable, because I don’t miss out on learning as per more formal schools. And - the price is great, great value - the cost of my Netflix subscription each month! And no contract - so if life takes over - you are not tied in. The personal support is also very, very good indeed. But if there was one benefit I really had to single out it is would be this: Danish can be hard to learn - not because the grammar is hard (it isn’t) but because speaking it requires confidence; that’s what learning with Swap Language has given me - the confidence to TRY. With friends and out shopping, and in other everyday transactions. As a relative newcomer to Denmark - this is INVALUABLE in getting established within my community and genuinely have made more friends as a result. Learning with Swap Language is patient but well-paced learning of a very high quality and I cannot recommend them highly enough. (They are not paying me to say this - I just genuinely love learning a language now!)
