United Kingdom | 19 December 2022Ivan has totally reinvigorated my love of driving. I’ve had a lot of fast cars and have done a little racing, but I knew that I wasn’t getting the best out of my RS4 - it does so much for you that I felt like a passenger. Not anymore. Patiently, calmly and with admirable good-humour, Ivan showed me where I was going wrong and how to get the most out of the car - safely. It feels like a great investment and I wish I’d done it ages ago.”

United Kingdom | 18 December 2022Steve and I did a course in my John Cooper Works 4 wheel drive Mini, and it changed my driving life. I love my car and I love driving and Ivan taught me things about my car and driving I use every day and I love. Thank you for such a great time, one day we will come back for more.

United Kingdom | 16 December 2022Firstly, thank you for putting up with me and my bad driving over the last two days, which takes a lot of courage and patience! I found both days extremely well planned and appropriately tuned into teaching me the right way to drive quickly yet also in a safe and thoroughly enjoyable manner, at the same time eliminating 43 years of bad driving habits. Day one’s session at Millbrook specifically helped me refresh and learn new things about the physics of car balance and control (under/oversteer, lift off oversteer, trail braking etc.), then adding into the mix: • The vital importance of peripheral vision – plan ahead to see what dangers or obstacles you need to factor into your car positioning, look at exit point not the road straight ahead/entry point • The importance of correct seating and hand positioning • Finesse (lightness of touch) in car control – timing and smoothness of inputs (steering, throttle, brakes, etc.) • Feel and understand what the car is communicating back to you • Where the correct apex to the corner is and how to set the car up for it All these learnt in theory and then applied in practical demonstrations on various circuits helped bring them to life, akin to a chemistry experiment in a lab. Doing 120 mph on the outer lane of the banked circuit in torrential rain with the roof down, marvellous! I would like to really master skid control and drifting one day! Day two, out on the road was equally rewarding and enjoyable, again taking everything learned on day one and applying it to real world situations. The route we took was brilliant, a great mix of challenging roads and conditions. I particularly liked the part where we went back and forth several times on the same stretch of road, each time adding incremental speed. This built my confidence and the feel and communication back from the car: you immediately know if each corner was driven really well or not – good ones are so rewarding, being smooth and quick with minimal input required. In addition, learning subtle things like better gear selection, creating and maintaining a safety bubble and escape route, gapping and controlling the cars around you, optimal road positioning in all conditions (even driving through villages) to command/control the road and inform others of your intent, controlling speed coming to junctions in order to avoid all unnecessary stops were all new to me and will change the way I drive. Some of the above was counter-intuitive to what I had learned and reinforced in my driving over many years and as such will take time to readjust to. There is no doubt about it: “Practice makes perfect” so I will endeavour to apply all that I learned every time I get behind the wheel. I have taken the very significant first steps to being a better driver, yet now recognise that the way ahead is long and steep. I look forward to returning for another course, and elevating my driving and the enjoyment it brings to the next level. My thanks again, much appreciated and I hope to see you again soon.

United Kingdom | 11 December 2022Car control is a real skill and Ivan has taught me so much which has made me a safer, more confident driver. I was given his expertise at both Millbrook (the Alpine course and skid pan are invaluable lessons with the right teacher) and on a road driving day. My vision and what I notice whilst driving has been transformed. I am certainly more assured, able to press on safely and also have become more courteous to others. I personally cannot rate Ivan high enough.

United Kingdom | 09 December 2022I had a 3 day course with Ivan recently (2 days at Millbrook and one day on the road) . I have been driving for 35 years and it soon became clear how little I knew about proper car control and handling . Ivan made me feel totally at ease and his knowledge was invaluable. This course is for anyone regardless of the type of vehicle you drive. I also sent my 18 year old son for a 2 day course with Ivan and the difference that this has made to his driving and maturity on road behaviour is incredible. I can honestly say that this was the best money I have ever spent on ensuring safety for myself and my son . Highly recommended.

United Kingdom | 09 December 2022As Sir Jackie Stewart’s driver in the UK, I attended the Total Control Masterclass in March. Ivan put me at ease from the very start and explained in detail the course and discussed how it would be adapted to my needs. The three days were challenging yet thoroughly enjoyable. I came away feeling much more confident in my ability to drive Sir Jackie in a comfortable and professional manner. It also gave me greater confidence and understanding in handling the BMW 740e at speed, plus the techniques and skills to cope with hazardous road conditions and other road users. Since my time with Ivan, Sir Jackie has commented on several occasions that he has noticed a marked improvement in my driving ability. I would recommend Total Car Control to anyone; and know that Sir Jackie’s driver in Switzerland has already been booked in for his 3 days with Ivan. C. Greenwood

United Kingdom | 09 December 2022Fabulous Christmas present from my wife, a 2 day course with Ivan. Like many my first day was at Millbrook, and then on the country roads around Cambridge. I can still hear Ivan in my head, 'wash from p1 to p2' Great course, and I would highly recommend it. Can't remember the date, but it was pre covid.

United Kingdom | 08 December 2022My wife and I booked Ivan for a day. We both had a great time and could not believe what our car was capable of after fantastic tuition from Ivan.

United Kingdom | 08 December 2022Money we'll spent. We buy the cars and think we can drive. A very intense experience which taught me so much about how to quickly and safely drive a car. Ivan is a true pro and a good teacher able to tailor things to your start point and pace of learning. Thoroughly recommended.

United Kingdom | 08 December 2022I've done a few track days before taking a course with Ivan, and didn't have a great idea on what in particular I need to work on to improve my driving and speed. The 2 day performance driving course with Ivan gave me everything i wanted, and more. now I have it pretty much figured out what goes into a perfect lap. and where my skill level is at in all the aspects of it. This understanding itself is great, but I've learned new skills and improved my driving right there at Millbrook. And Ivan's caching is very good. I think it's pretty essential course for most performance car drivers to keep your car on the road, and be safe, relaxed and confident behind the wheel.

United Kingdom | 08 December 2022Total Car Control DYNAMIC HANDLING MASTERCLASS DRIVING COURSE Review July 2018 not 2022 suggested by the date below. First of all, let me say a huge thank you for your efforts during my day with you at Millbrook. This was one of the best days I have had driving my Maserati and left me with a myriad of lessons to work on that will gel to make me a better, smoother and more accomplished driver. I recognised before seeing you that I had a lot to learn before I could confidently say that I could ‘drive’ my car, and I was not surprised to see that I was correct in that judgement. What did surprise me though was, even after reading your excellent e-book, how far away from polished I actually was. One area that I felt I might be ok was my observation. I like to think that I do look well ahead to plan my route through bends and tighter turns, but this of course gets all the more frantic when the speed builds, and it was a great lesson to me that even reasonably good observation needs to be much better to safely negotiate challenging roads. This was a lesson I didn’t expect to learn but one which has had a big effect on me since the course. On the handling circuit in the morning, you more or less let me go at it with a view to measuring the level I was at. This was where I think I learnt a very substantial lesson about the car. I was undoubtedly relatively slow at first and was definitely taking the wrong lines into and out of the bends. After you did a short demonstration for me, just a couple of laps if I recall, I realised just how much more the car was capable of than I had given it credit for. Once overcoming this vital bit of learning, I felt my confidence increase significantly, knowing that if/when I made a mistake that the car was well within its capabilities, so a correction from me would be easily ‘accepted’. This allowed me to push on a little more than I had been before, confident that I could remain safe even when entering previously unchartered territory. Your short demonstration really set me up for the rest of the day and I’m delighted that you suggested it; I learnt a great deal from that. The most impressive and surprising aspect of the day came on the Mile Straight. I wasn’t really too bothered about getting the car up to maximum speed on the High Speed Circuit: we know it can go fast and its not something that can be done anywhere else, so I was much more interested in the Mile Straight. Here you took me through emergency braking and manoeuvring under maximum brake pressure. Firstly, at 50mph we stopped the car within about 5 car lengths! This was a real eye opener too, as I had not applied maximum brake pressure in the car in the previous two years of owning it. In future this is something I will always do when I get a new car; it was another valuable lesson. Moving on we did the 100mph maximum brake and stopped in a similarly surprisingly short distance (albeit double the speed = quadruple the stopping distance). Again, really great lessons to pick up. The Hill Route is a highly technical route with a great deal to think about, much of which at the beginning of the day would have been impossible, but after lunch when we worked with it I felt that I could definitely feel improvements based on what we had already covered. This was the most challenging part of the day for me, mainly because it was most like real driving and was the area in which I wanted to see genuine progress. Before the day I hadn’t realised at all just how technical driving could be, but to be efficient on the road, smooth, fast and safe, takes a considerable amount of knowledge and solid concentration. Putting into practice therefore, all that I had learnt throughout the day was the most satisfying aspect of the course. I was far from perfect, but I was much more proficient than I had been just a few hours earlier. Your teaching technique clearly works really well, for I learnt a great deal during the day about both my car and my own competence to drive it. I always enjoyed driving quickly but now see much more of a challenge in it. It’s no longer about just getting from A to B quickly, it’s now all about driving with sound technique to utilise the car’s capability, the road available and my learnt skills in handling the car through weight transfer, braking and effective steering. To arrive at B having achieved a technically correct drive is hugely rewarding, plus safer and with the option of arriving at B faster than before. Thank you for a great day’s learning and experiencing the more technical aspects of driving, which have enhanced my enjoyment of my car and of my driving generally. Even my wife thinks I’m a better driver as a result! M. Pilgrim

United Kingdom | 07 December 2022I took a 3 day course with Ivan in December 2021. 2 days at Millbrook proving ground and a day on public roads. I have to say it was one of the best driver training courses I have ever done, and my confidence, awareness, and, of course, car control has improved immensely. I still find myself fighting the 'monkey brain' on trackdays from time to time, but I use it now as an indicator of where there is time to be gained. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to be a safer, smoother driver.

United Kingdom | 07 December 2022I carried out a 3 day course with Ivan in my 911 GT3RS back in 2020. Despite already being a driver with a far bit of road and track experience, my time with Ivan was worth every minute! The fact that the course is tailored to your individual needs and delivered 1 to 1 is great. It means that you really get out of the course what you feel will benefit you, as opposed to being generic. Regardless of what you are looking to achieve, if it involves driving, book Ivan. Highly recommended and thoroughly enjoyed the 3 days.

United Kingdom | 07 December 2022A day spent with Ivan at Millbrook can't be recommended highly enough. Ivan is very personable and puts you at ease immediately. My confidence to drive quickly and safely has improved vastly. To understand your car and improve on your driving skills, all done in a safe place and within your own limits can only be a winner. Total Car Control = FANTASTIC!

United Kingdom | 05 October 2022I had the incredible two days course with Ivan at Millbrook and around Cambridge back in March 2022. Now 6 months later I see the results of that experience. Due to Ivan’s lessons and advises I changed my driving habits not only driving powerful cars, but even ordinary slow vehicles. I recommend this course to any supercar driver and or owner as you probably underestimate what kind of car you possess. Thanks to Ivan I learned how my car behaves in different situations. I recommend taking wet circle, but just let Ivan to see how you drive first and then he chooses lessons for you. The driving lesson around Cambridge was fantastic. I could have never imagined how useful country roads could have been. Originally, I was a little sceptical, but Ivan shown me real master class and shown me that country road can be even more interesting for improving driving skills than a track
