Brian Kjems
Denmark | 31 May 2024Oplysnigsrig undervisning.

Marius Popusoi
Denmark | 22 February 2023I would like to share my experience of attending Crane Basic Amu-Syd courses. I attended the crane courses on 07.07.2021. I had Mr. Paul as my teacher. The whole period of the course went, let's say, normally. When the day of the exam came, Mr. Paul informed me and my colleagues that the person who was supposed to examine us would not be able to show up because the examiners were on vacation and we would not be examined by an examiner but instead, we will be examined by a person named Jes, who in turn was Amu Syd a teacher like Mr. Paul. To be admitted as a crane operator you must pass 3 tests. The 3 tests consist of handling the crane, logically. In the first test you have to handle a weight of 1/3 ton, it depends on the object, you have to go with it in the air and then drop it suddenly and it must not swing too much. (a stop on the chest of the ball, for those who play football). The second test consists of coordinating teams that handle a concrete pillar weighing 3.5 tons, etc. And the third stage is to handle a 350 kg concrete pillar (if I remembered correctly) with which you have to do a slalom between some metal stakes (we can say). I completed the first two tests without problems, but on the third one I had a little problem, the test was 15 minutes long, and I could not complete the test on time, but I managed to get 15 minutes and 45 seconds. . Mr. Paul suggested I repeat it. I repeated it and finished the test in 15 minutes and 15 seconds. After I finished the test, Mr. Paul informed me that I failed the test, he said he didn't like how I finished the third test, I was in a *hurry* he told me. Mr. Jes, who was our examiner, looked surprised and looked at Mr. Paul, Mr. Paul looked at Jes saying something in Danish (I didn't hear what Mr. Paul said to Mr. Jes, I was quite far from the two teachers). At that point I assumed it was something and looked at Mr. Paul saying "If you don't think I'm fit to pass this test, that's no problem." Mr. Paul was silent but he expected me to fight back but I didn't fight back and I could see the relief on his face. After I saw that I was not admitted, I realized that Mr. Paul did not like me from the beginning. Mr. Paul made me jump for 4 days to practice on the element that I failed, the one with 350kg(concrete pillar). He was able to do this when he groped me and the students. I was last on the list, as there were not enough students in the class (there were 9 people instead of 10), I had no one to form a group with, and therefore, when it was my turn to practice the element that Mr. Paul didn't pass me( 350kg concrete pillar), I had to move on to the next element because of the team who was going to practice where I should have been practicing. I explained to Mr. Paul that it was a problem and that I was not able to practice (the 350 kg concrete pillar), but he assured me that it would be fine and told me to move on to the next element and exercise. Mr. Paul didn't want to pass me because (this is just my conclusion): One day, I saw two class participants, my colleagues, struggling to operate the remote control, but at the same time, Mr. Paul was sitting with his bottom on the concrete pillar and laughing (not loudly) at the students...seeing Mr. Paul laughing, I told him:*You have an easy job, you don't have to do much* (he laughing and doing nothing, I said that's how it is in Denmark, I suppose the teacher doesn't get involved, they let you play until you realize what you have to do). But apparently it bothered him that I told him that, I saw it from a different perspective, when I told him this. My classmates were also surprised to see that the teacher had failed me. One of the students, a man from Scotland (if I'm not mistaken) went and talked to him, I don't know what they talked about but I suppose he was curious why I fell. Even more tragic is that Mr. Paul admitted another classmate he attended who did not have a good opinion of him. Said Mr. Paul about the colleague who was slow (let's say):"The worst person I have ever met in all the years I have taught at this school (Amu Syd), how can you be so stupid to practice and finish an element in 25 minutes (it's about the concrete pillar 350 kg)... but still Mr. Paul admitted the student in question. Mr. Paul owed me the next appointment. I had to call and ask when I had an exam appointment. The lady at the reception told me that it didn't seem like I was re-registered for a new examination, so I stopped insisting. Thank you. PS: Don't make my mistake, don't tell Mr. Paul he has a good job he doesn't need to get involved with.
