At the 11th hour of our leasehold sale; the buyer's solicitor demanded a further lease plan for a Deed of Variation for our existing Lease. As a practising property lawyer, I knew the plan had to meet the Land Registry's very tight requirements as to scaling and location. I had what I thought was a simple project, to lay out some car parking spaces on a plot of land I had bought. I tried 4 companies, 3 of whom wanted to undertake a full site survey at considerable expensive, despite my having accurate measurements of the site.
