Get a very good UK attorney. Almost 500 days no book. They don't respond. They don't use last names. They don't answer the phone. They use AI to do edits. Your work comes back non-sensical. They don't let you out of the contract. They keep your money. They tie up your work. It's quite the business model. I dedicated this book to my brother who died during Covid. They are heartless.

I gave Pegasus a pre-publication printed hard copy of my memoirs nearly a year ago with really eye-catching cover graphics, manuscript and all the high quality photographs and I have yet to see them publish the book. Worse still I was stupid enough to pay them a few thousand pounds which I bitterly regret. I haven’t heard from them for many weeks and so I highly recommend that if you have a book you would like publishing go to a more reputable publisher.

Hi, this is my third review of this company. I’ve read and abide by the Trustpilot rules. Even though it’s too late for me, I really do not want to see another innocent author treated like I have by this company. Anything I say here is fact; I can back it all up with evidence, & I am willing to testify in a court of law. This is very important to anyone considering signing with Pegasus. I signed with Pegasus on the 19th of October 2023. I paid 2600 pounds for a hybrid contract & I was cool with it. Like all, I was promised expert editing, proofreading & a cover that would blow the minds of the multitudes. Well, sadly none of that happened. What I received was farcical. The cover sample were atrocious, AI-generated crap that didn’t even represent my book. They finally sent my suggestions to an illustrator, but that was fourteen & a half months after I had sent them. I truly believe that this was purely done just to tick a box. In regards to the edits, nothing was done to improve my manuscript. In fact, they made it worse; any colloquialisms were squashed with automatic spell check, and that only happened in the first page or two, as that’s all they ran through word. Since then, I have employed a professional editor/proofreader for legal purposes; her reply was damming. Her exact words, “The edits supplied resembled something akin to an act of contempt against the author, nothing was done with them, other than to make them worse with atrocious use of spell check and formatting; that was blatant to see. The edits that were supplied, were not in any way publishable.” There’s so much other crap to report, but I’m not getting into it now. I was gutted. But here’s why I’m writing today’s review. On the 30th of January, my contract expired. Even though I still fervently question this so-called 325 working days to get my manuscript published, that day finally came. I even have that in writing from the PR dude David from an earlier row. In an e-mail to me, he wrote: ‘Therefore, I return to my initial email and remind you that your contract is still valid and does not run out until 30th January 2025, in line with our working timeframe.’ My book was not published by that date so the contract is null and void. On 12/02/2025, I let my coordinator know that our contract was over. I then received an email from the accounts department to firstly say, “Your book is still in production.” To which I replied, “No, it’s not, The contract ceased on the 30th of Jan, and I have that in writing. You owe me 2600 pounds………….” Then I got another: “Your contract has not ceased. Your contract is active until production is complete. Please refer to clause 5 of your contract.” There was more back-and-forth on these lines, including me forwarding PR dude’s email. I then received another email, “You seem to be under the impression that the production stage automatically ends the contract upon its completion. This is not the case. Your contract does not include a given ‘end date’ because your book then goes through the promotion and distribution stages.” Now it was very easy to quash this nonsense because the contract clearly states: “The Publisher shall produce the Work in the Publisher’s Edition within three hundred and twenty-five working days after the ………….” That gives us an end date, simple. Folks, the reason I am writing this is extremely important. Even though the contract has expired, Pegasus are still trying to stake a claim to my book, my baby, my treasure. And they don’t want to release it. In other words, if you sign with Pegasus and it all goes pear-shaped, you are actually signing away your book. If they were to publish what they supplied as a proofread edit, my book would be ridiculed for the dismal grammatical errors, desperate formatting and everything else that is meant to go into a well-produced novel. They’ve had the time, and nothing professional has been produced. As I said previously, the only thing for me to gain now is to try and make sure that Pegasus doesn’t dupe any more unsuspecting authors, although I do want my money returned in full. In my opinion, they are nothing but a fraudulent company that prey on vulnerable, innocent first-time authors whose only dream is to get their manuscript, which they have toiled over for many months or even years, Published. They promise the moon and stars, but it’s all a pack of lies, and thankfully, or sadly for me, I have the proof to show anyone, especially a judge or maybe even the media. In fact, I might just start with trading standards. Stay away from them; they are only interested in your money, but they’ll steal your dreams in the process. They are leeches; they think they can act with impunity, with total disregard for their innocent victims. Thankfully, the contract is officially over & I'm so happy with that. Cheers

I couldn't be more impressed. Their communication was top-notch, always keeping me informed and promptly addressing any questions I had. The service they provided was exceptional, going above and beyond to meet my needs. The quality of their work was stellar, exceeding my expectations in every way. I highly recommend Pegasus Publishing for anyone looking for a reliable and professional publishing partner.

Using Pegasus publishers was a great way to get my book ‘Do you suppose. .’ Published. However the communication re royalties and those that I am still owed is very frustrating and unclear. There is no good communication with either the royalty or accounts teams and twice I have been told that I will be paid for missed royalties and then I didn’t receive them with no explanation. It was satisfying to be published- the hybrid way - but I would not recommend Pegasus publishers to anyone for lack of communication and lack of payments. So disappointing. NB I have emailed the royalty department several times and I do not get a response . . . And still the royalty statement does not include the royalties from the very first statement that were not paid and have not been brought forward since. (From royalty period January - June 2023)

Pegasus has made my dream come true. They have made me believe that my book is worthy of being out there for others to read and mainly for children to enjoy. I have yet to experience the publicity side of this company as my book has only just been realised, but if like the production side, i'm looking forward to good things. Thank you Pegasus

Pegasus have been so helpful in making sure everything went as smoothly as possible. I had such problems with photos for my book and they were so patient with my inefficiency with technology. Thank you Pegasus for believing in me.

I sent them £3000 for the editing and publication of my book. When they send the « edited » proof : - they only corrected a few commas here and there - no actual editing of the manuscript. I refuse to believe all that was wrong with the book was a few commas - they GOT THE TITLE WRONG. TWICE. And when I emailed to say « you got the title wrong AGAIN », no answer, for 8 months until I send the 90-day letter asking for my money back. - i provided a reference image for the cover matter : it was the image of the ship from the Atlantis video game. I expected it to be a reference, not for them to COPY PASTE the image and apply a watercolour filter to it ! And when I mention it, they tell me that if I have nothing helpful to say about it they will use whatever image they see fit. Where is the promised relationship with the editors ? The artists ? Where is the work ? And when you try and get something done, they answer in a not-so-polite and rather aggressive manner. I may end up having to get a lawyer over this but I now refuse to see them publish my work. The trust is broken and they owe me 3000 bloody pounds. For the love of God, find a real publisher who cares about your work, not about your money ! EDIT : mister David has been in touch with me to tell me that because « work » had been done to produce the book there would be no refund or anything. According to them, the whole thing is my fault and I did not understand the contract. Once again : AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. This is a vanity press ! The simple fact that their « editors » solely concern themselves with punctuation is proof enough that they don’t give a damn about making the work better, they just want your money, and they will pander to your « vanity » by telling you your book’s perfect as it is. A real editor will transform your book (working alongside you) for the better ! Not change 3 commas. EDIT 2 : when they say they’ve been communicating with me…. I sent an email on may 14, 2024. They answered me 8 months later upon reception of my 90-day letter. I had signaled problems more than once with the illustration, the title… never received answers. The images and title remained the same. Don’t be fooled.

Pegasus Publishers has been wonderful to work with while publishing my first book! They responded to questions promptly and in a professional manner. I was able to be an integral part of the decision making process during the editing process. The illustrations that Pegasus provided for my text are absolutely beautiful and exactly what I pictured during the early stages of my work. I look forward to working with the publicist team during the launch of my book!

Avoid this publisher like the plague, they take your money and then a few months down the line they refuse making any changes to your book and stop communicating. The same person that does the editing is also the manager who is useless. They really don't care and there is no one to raise any issues with. They refused to change the front cover after I wasn't happy with it and said I to pick their design. I asked them to edit the pages and put paragraphs in as it was extremely blocky and hard to read they said I had to do it myself. Useless is an understatement to describing this so called company which seems like it's a one man band and I've wasted years on my book because of it. I was very passionate about getting my book published and worked very hard for years on it, the experience I've had here has taken that excitement away. I've had to take legal action as they have stopped responding to my emails. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THEM. If someone who's reads this can recommend a trusted, reputable publisher that can help me finish the book and make into a success I would be very open to discuss with you.

Pegasus have been amazing! My experience with Pegasus has been nothing short of perfect. They published my book to a very high standard unlike the self published titles which are so badly done. Also to have a book with the same publisher as Terry Deary is just amazing. Thank you Pegasus for believing in me and my book!

My experience with Pegasus/Nightingale was horrific from the first weeks of signing a contract with them to publish my illustrated children's poetry book "Let's Save the World, Vol. 1". Their tasks were supposed to include a decent design, and after several months of follow-ups with someone called 'Kat' (who kept telling me essentially "Don't call us, we'll call you whenever we're ready") I complained bitterly to the Editors and was promptly given a miserable cover design that looked as if it had been obtained through Fiverr. In the end we used my own original cover design. The 'publisher' did ZERO marketing, and I sold around 50 copies on my own, and for which I am still awaiting payment up to 18 months after the sales. I cancelled the Contract and republished on Amazon, which was incredibly frustrating as Pegasus refused to withdraw their competing edition from Amazon until I threatened them with legal action. (It's still listed on Amazon but listed as 'unavailable'). All in all, not just a waste of money, but a waste of nerves and a massive opportunity cost. I was a sucker for basically not reading the fine print that for the fee (in my case GBP 1700) they basically print the book (Amazon does it for free!) and pay you 1/3 of the royalty paid by Amazon, with royalties taking up to 18 months for payment as opposed to monthly by Amazon!). Avoid such publishers like the plague. And read the fine print: If they say they cannot guarantee any marketing, believe them! If the author has to do all the marketing in addition to all the creative work and design, he/she might just as well self-publish on Amazon or, better still, try and find a competent agent. Fortunately, I am financially comfortable and didn't need the GBP1700. I can imagine that the effect of such miserable treatment would be many times more traumatic for poor, struggling authors.

The communication and information provided by Pegasus was always very good. I was guided through the process from beginning to end with expertise. This is my second book with Pegasus and I can recommend this publisher to those seeking to be published. I now look forward to working with Publicity as the publication date draws close. Thank you Pegasus.

As background: My wife has written a childrens book and paid for their service. What service ? Our issues are not related to being published or not, nothing is guaranteed. Its that you pay your money 💴 and 12 months along the jouney, you hear very little, no accountability, no one heading up the relationship, they won’t take Teams/Zoom progress calls, nada 👎: Extremely poor Feels like a con, dont pay - hope it helps you
