I’ve used their linseed oil paint a couple of times now and I’m blown away at how you only need 2 coats of paint even on brand new wood. The drying time is long but it’s so worth it! Colours are very close to what you see on line. Dispatch time is good and they are well packaged. Can’t fault this company and hope they are running for many years to come!

Boiught two batches of their Casein Distemper recently and I have to say it is very good paint - silky smooth to apply, obliterates fully, dries to a reasonably tough finish and quick service and a good price. I will be purchasing some of their emulsion paint soon. Highly recommended, it is up there with the best 'artisan paint makers'.

I just gotta leave a review for these guys.....I first bought a batch of lime wash from Ingleby's in about 2001. I changed the colour and bought another lot in 2014 and recently another 20 gallons in September 2024. By then they'd moved but, the actually remembered me as i got out of my car at their new premises This is one of the last proper trustworthy traders. Great company, always found the elderly gentleman owner to be incredibly knowledgeable and he helped me with many of my queries on exterior paints for timber guttering etc. He even provided tips for things for me to add to linseed oil paints to make it last hundreds of years. Top notch in every way and far better than the gimmicky other brand linseed oil paints with the barmy price tags. Thanks Ingilby

I recently bought the pure linseed oil paint for my newly installed log cabin. Great customer service. Made up and delivered quickly. The product has very good coverage and good pigment content. Much cheaper than there competitors. Will definitely use them again and pass there details to friends .

I purchased Ochre yellow paint for a feature wall and i have to be honest and say its an awful product that says it's suitable for walls in question and answer section on Amazon, when clearly it's not suitable at all. First coat dried perfectly but it needed a 2nd coat. 2nd coat cracked and peeled as it dried, leaving my wall looking awful and needing to be sanded down and repainted. Would not recommend or reuse this paint. On requesting a refund I was offered a free tin of paint which I refused, so as I had purchased through Amazon i was advised to request refund via Amazon. I had purchased 3 tins of this paint costing £65 and was only refunded £21 and was told I had to return paint to get a full refund! I could not return the paint as requested as it had been used and was on my wall! I then had to spent another £23 in purchasing more paint from elsewhere, and it then took 15 hours to sand down and repaint my wall. Sadly absolutely disgusting customer service. Would never buy anything from this company again! UPDATE TO MY REVIEW... After submitting this review I did receive a full refund but feel this was only given as I had left a negative review here!

excellent service and materials

Brilliant paint, made a very old gate and fence look as good as new. Really loved the colour Ramshackle. Will definitely be buying some more paint to do the garage and front door.

Really impressed with the customer service and the quality of the product. Our first order had a bit of a problem, the colour was wrong. My emails were responded to very quickly and once the problem was understood a replacement tin arrived via quickly. The paint itself is fantastic. It gives a lovely finish, has nearly no smell and gives excellent coverage. Ingilby's paint might be a little more expensive then what you can pick up paint for but as with all things you get what you pay for and this paint is certainly worth that little bit extra.

If you've only used big brands before, Ingilby products are a revelation, fantastic to use and great colours. Delivery has always been good too.

Ingilby Paints were recommended to me by a builder who carried out some remedial work on my rather old house. They had exactly the type of lime wash paint that I needed in order to prevent the damp problem I had from recurring in the future. I ordered a few sample pots on the website in order to test them on the walls and decide on the colour I wanted. These arrived very quickly as did the paint that I went on to order. I asked for some advice regarding the application of the paint via the email address provided on the website, and received a very helpful answer very quickly indeed. Very impressed with the service I have received and will continue to order from Ingilby Paints for my ongoing DIY projects.
