I had been wanting to return to Japan after visiting there many years ago. There were a few “must do” things on my list, and since Julian’s trip checked all of those boxes, I decided to take a chance and him a try. Well, we did everything I could’ve wanted on a twelve day trip to Japan, and then some. We did pre-dawn visits to temples, photographed street scenes in the early evening and whole lot more in between. There was just so much variety, and it made for a rich experience. I’ll be traveling with Julian again for sure.

Just back from an enjoyable week with Julian in Glen Coe and Skye. He knew where to go, when to go, and made the most of every minute offered to us by the light and weather. The hotels were good, the company good, and the advice and knowledge offered by Julian nothing less than excellent. I'm looking forward to travelling with him again in Nov.

I joined Julian Elliott on a trip to Tuscany this past May. It was an excellent experience to photograph this beautiful landscape with Julian who is an outstanding professional photographer always providing great help with photography techniques and finding best spots for stunning images. I would highly recommend anyone to join his workshops and you will never be disappointed. This is my 2nd trip with him in last three years.

"My husband and I had the pleasure of joining Julian Elliot on his Vietnam photography tour this September, and it was an incredible journey. He possesses an immense knowledge of photography and a deep understanding of the locations and people we visited. Julian took us to locations that included rice terrace landscapes, farmers, fishermen, brick and incense makers at work, big city street scenes, and portraits, which allowed us to capture breathtaking shots. Julian was patient, approachable, and always willing to provide personalized tips. He showed us how to get up close and engage with portrait images of hill tribe people and professional models. What truly sets Julian apart is his passion and energy. We were lucky with the weather, as we had many sunrises and sunsets in varied locations, including a fantastic early morning market in a fishing village. Every hidden gem we visited was an opportunity for him to inspire us to see the world in new ways.  It was not just about taking pictures—it was about connecting with the environment and honing our artistic vision. We've expanded our portfolio and gained a wealth of new techniques and unforgettable memories. I highly recommend Julian to anyone looking to elevate their photography skills while having a great time exploring beautiful Vietnam. Truly a five-star experience!" R & C Handelman

I recently participated in Julian Elliot's "GLENCOE PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR" photography workshop and tour, which was an exceptional experience! He is incredibly knowledgeable and provides personalized guidance, making complex photography techniques easy to understand for all skill levels. The Glencoe of course is breathtaking offering stunning opportunities for landscape photography. Julian throughout the tour was hands-on and suggested new techniques and compositions depending on the weather & the environment. The atmosphere was supportive and very friendly, fostering a great sense of connection among participants too. The tour organization starting from driving to Glencoe Hotel from the Glasgow airport, editing sessions, and stops for meal planning all were flawless, allowing us to focus entirely on photography. Julian observed the weather apps very closely at the start of every day to give us the best of the light and avoid rain even if it meant him driving us to the Isle of Skye where weather conditions looked clear instead of staying in Glencoe which was originally part of the plan. He went out of his way to make sure we came back with beautiful photographs and the best of the memories! Overall, this workshop tour was fantastic for enhancing my photography skills capturing some of the best shots for my portfolio. Highly recommended!

In short words, it was amazing. Had a great week with Julian in Italy. As in a small group, Julian took care to consider everyone's needs and took us to many well-known and secret spots. Even when the weather was bad Julian was able to find alternative plans. Everyone went home with a memory card full of photos. Will definitely have another try next time!

Uzbekistan with Julian was an exciting and exotic journey. A key aim (for me) was to learn more about this architecture and landscape photography - Julian was very generous with his knowledge, and I learned a lot about how to use a tilt shift lens - and about being precise is setting up my shots. Julian, with the local guides, managed to get us to some great vantage points, away from the usual tourist spots, which was wonderful. Our local guides were brilliant and made history come alive with their detailed narrations at each of the beautiful cities we visited. Being an inaugural trip, there were some logistical issues; we had provided our feedback at the end of the trip, and I am sure Julian will iron these issues out before the next tour. All in all a very good trip, to a beautiful and culturally rich part of the world.

A photo tour to the Dolomites was a bucket list item for me and this tour fully met my expectations. Julian took us to as many of the top spots that we could fit into a week, while being flexible to adjust for the weather and light. His knowledge of photography is excellent. I appreciated the small group size and the attention he gave to each of us. Julian is a great guy who truly went above and beyond to make sure we got the shot!

I joined Julian on a one-week photography tour in the Dolomites, Italy, and it was incredible. We visited both secret and well-known spots, and our safety was also taken very seriously. Julian was really helpful, guiding me in photography and ensuring we all felt comfortable. Our daily schedule was discussed with us in detail, and we were even able to visit Seceda, a spot not originally in the plan but one I had always wished to go to. It was a memorable tour with excellent planning, and thanks to Julian, lots of beautiful images were captured :)

If you love history, architecture and landscapes, Uzbekistan is the place to visit. Once on the crossroads of the Great Silk Road it is such a historically and culturally rich country. There were two of us on Julian Elliot Photography’s inaugural Uzbekistan photo tour. Julian is a superb architecture and landscape photographer who was happy to share his knowledge and experience. He had scouted and made possible for us to get access to buildings for wonderful vantage points for our photography. The photography aspect of the trip was perfectly counter-balanced by our local guides, who regaled us with interesting historical facts and stories. As it was an inaugural trip, not everything went according to plan. I am sure Julian will take the feedback we provided directly to improve future trips. On the whole it was an enjoyable and memorable experience.

Julian is an excellent photo tour guide. He bends over backwards to offer assistance to clients as needed and requested and takes clients to known and less well know photo locations. Highly recommended!

Great trip with Julian to Glencoe in January. Although the weather was doing it’s best to thwart any photography Julian could not have done more to find us locations out of the gale force winds and rain. Always on hand to offer advice on camera settings and composition. A great trip with great company.

Nobody has ever said that winter landscape photography is anything other than challenging but this is not to say it can also be enjoyable and very rewarding. My trip to Glen Coe (January 2023) with Julian ticked all of these boxes. I think it is fair to say that the weather was appalling, constant rain, low cloud, snow limited to the peaks , no sunrises and meagre sunsets. For all that, Julian’s knowledge and understanding of the area, introduced us to some stunning locations where he was able to offer guidance on composition, lighting and other techniques to get the best out of the varied locations. Despite (or perhaps because of) the hardships, our group bonded well with each happy to share experiences and opportunities. So, thank you Julian, it was a difficult week photographically but for all that I did get some dramatic images and made some new friends.
