I was always apprehensive about the large package medical trips sold to Brits, but then I found Basari Hospital. It is a hospital that serves the residents of Istanbul, as well as international visitors. One thing that was a huge green flag before going, is that the Surgeons are all employed by the hospital itself, rather than being outsourced. I arrive and I am greeted by the VIP transfer team who whisk me away to the Hospital to meet Faith, one of the international coordinators. I am introduced to the nursing staff and shown the room which is fresh and clean, with great Air Con and private bathroom facilities. I also met Eser, who has been answering all my questions and arranging the whole trip for me. The bed is memory foam and fully adjustable, which made recovery a lot easier! I had a full 360 tummy tuck, liposuction round the torso and back, as well as a little on the arms, fat transfer to my hips and buttocks, breast lift and augmentation (implants) and labiaplasty. I got the full works! Dr Serkan Kaya is genuinely one of the most caring doctors I have met in my life. He and the whole nursing team were there to support me and tend to my every need - this is in a very literal sense just after your surgery! I was fed by hand when I felt too weak, my hair was braided every day, I was washed and cared for (I felt like a new born baby afterwards!) and had my hand was held when I had a little wobble with my nerves. They would make sure everything I needed was in reach and that I was comfortable. However, there were a couple of translation issues, especially on the first night. Mostly, there is a nurse on call who can speak good English, and of course you have Eser and Faith available to message on WhatsApp, but please be aware in advance that some requests may take a little longer. There was also a slight challenge in one of the surgeries but to my surprise, instead of sending me off to the hotel, they kept me in hospital and under observation until they were happy I was feeling better. This shows real responsibility and care by the team. I still have some healing to do and a couple of months before I see the full finished result. However, after getting checked over once in the UK, there are no issues with the healing or the wounds and everything is as it should be. My body really does look amazing! Eser is still on-hand on WhatsApp to help me with aftercare, giving me advice and requesting regular photos and sharing them with the surgeon to make sure everything is healing as it should be. One word of warning - I always thought of myself as a strong person and able to do anything alone. Even though I managed it, if I went again, I would definitely bring a guest. However, if you do go alone, there is always someone there to hold your hand!

Wish I had paid more and gone elsewhere!! First of all the sheets on the bed are dirty, the blankets look like they’ve never been washed and the pillows are so old they look like they’re filled with cotton balls? The room was absolutely freezing and I mean freezing and they wouldn’t let us put the heating on.. We were supposed to have a translator but she could barely understand either of us and couldn’t speak much English. No one went through the procedure with us so we didn’t know what was happening and it was very rushed! We had a lady come in to the room in the morning with the translator on her phone saying ‘hurry up the dr is very busy’ we hadn’t been told a time or anything and this was early in the morning. I wanted to brush my teeth and they literally grabbed me like I was in a prison. The staff don’t knock the door and will just walk in all through the day and night so you have 0 privacy!! A lady walked in at 3 am just to give us some slippers. We then got prescribed medications which I google translated and none of them were anti sickness which we were supposed to be going home with as we had a 4 hour flight. We also both got prescribed ibuprofen which after 4 weeks I’ve now found out that under no circumstances should anyone who’s had any bariatric procedure be taking ibuprofen. My partner was sick the whole time and they only gave her an anti sickness injection 5 minutes before we left after I had been begging them for something to help her the day before. I even offered to pay more. I would definitely NOT recommend this hospital at all. And to top off this dreadful experience my partner is having to have her balloon removed in the UK as they have over filled the balloon and they’re unable to drain it. She has not eaten or drank without being sick for over 3 weeks and the last 5 days she’s been in hospital with severe dehydration, malnourishment and potential stomach lining damage from the ibuprofen. Pay more and go elsewhere, please!!

All the staff were very friendly, from the co-ordinatior to the nurses and doctors. The hospital was very clean and everything happened when they said it would and how they said it would. I would definitely recommend this hospital.

I can't describe how much help Eser has been. He never had a problem answering any question that I had to ask and has always been available when convenient. Couldn't ask for a better person to have as a contact in a case like mine where you're having an operation in a country you don't know. (I came from UK). Congrats to every nurse that took care of me and also sending my greatest regards to my surgeon, Elshan, for giving me exactly what I wanted with my rhinoplasty surgery. 🙏🏼

Two weeks post rhinoplasty and I could not be more pleased! It’s safe to say I was more than a little nervous before the operation but the moment I met Dr Mammadov I knew instantly I was in good hands. The whole experience went as well as I hoped, thank you Dr Mammadov and your team.

I can not fault the care, patience. Professional guidance given pre travel from the UK. Eser was very knowledgeable and helped with with any queries. The staff at the hospital especially the nurse give impedable care 24/7 going above and beyond to help me as I traveled alone. The surgeons and anesthetist introduced themselves before op and checked on me following the procedure of a gastric sleeve. Rosa the translator and admin was very Professional and thorougher. The hospital was exceptionally clean and private room was huge with private bathroom, cleaned daily. I can Highly recommend Basari hospital to anybody travelling from outside of Turkey, the care given was simply perfect. I will be back again next year. Thank you all.

I recently had rhinoplasty surgery with Dr mammadov who was just amazing. I was extremely nervous about my nose remaining natural and he assured me he would do his best he also is very realistic and will inform you what you will expect from surgery. From start to finish I had the most amazing and comfortable stay. From booking with mahmut to check out everything went so smoothly. Mahmut was able to translate for me and always on the end of the phone should i have needed anything i also had the pleasure orlf Roza to translate she was lovely so friendly and kind.The staff at the hospital were so friendly and always making sure I was comfortable checking in on me and getting me ice packs and showing me how to use my aftercare everyone of the nurses were extremely caring and always had a big smile. After surgery we stayed at a beautiful 5 start hotel and were able to see alot of the beautiful city istanbul. Transfers were always on time. I was also transfered back to hospital to have my cast off and Dr mammadov was excellent. He is very talented and an artist when it comes to rhinoplasty. All in all I had an amazing stay my procedure went smoothly with little to no pain after Mahmut is still on hand after surgery if I needed to ask him anything and has been extremely kind and helpful can't thank the team enough. 🙏

Friendly & fun staff , Super clean , quick respond when you ever need anything. I was travel on my own from London - England but I didn’t feel alone as everyone in BASARI have been treating me like their family, I felt so overwhelming and Miss Nesibe was my consultant and she has done her role like a pro. ☺️ and I would like to give a special 5 stars to Dr. Serkan Kaya, He is the best, Modern, and the coolest plastic surgeon. He will delivered your wish. I am so please with his work done on my body. Highly recommended Overall, My experienced with BASARI Hospital was 10/10 from the started until finished.

Overall happy with the outcome of my rhinoplasty, I just feel that there was no organisation at all from staff and hospital. We were not told the time of our surgery or consultation and also our hotel was changed and we were not told until we were dropped off at a different hotel. I always had to chase Mahmut to ask for things such as fit to fly letters and ask when we would be picked up. Hospital staff were nice but did not speak English and we didn't have a translator available for majority of the time. Was also overcharged for discharge medication after being told this would cost no more than £20. If the communication and organisation was better than would be happy. My Advice would be to book another company and pay the extra money for better service.

I'm currently five days post op (sleeve gastrectomy) and feeling fantastic. Eser and all of the surgical and care team on Ward 4 were outstanding, and I was cared for like a member of their family. The kindness and compassion I received during my stay at Basari was impeccable, the aftercare was thorough and informative, and I would recommend anyone thinking about having this type of surgery to get in touch with the team and discuss their circumstances. Many thanks once again to everyone who welcomed me and ensured that my stay was an enjoyable and successful one. I only wish I'd done it sooner!

Basari Hospital in Istanbul gave my wife a dream tummy tuck! The surgery itself went smoothly. The staff was attentive and reassuring throughout the entire process. Waking up to a flatter, more toned stomach was a revelation! The post-operative care was exceptional. Nurses monitored me closely, and the doctor readily answered any questions. The hospital itself was immaculate and comfortable, providing a serene environment for recovery. My wife's confidence is soaring thanks to their amazing work. I Highly recommend to hospital!

I had a fabulous experience with this company. My Surgeon was Dr Elshan and my coordinator was the lovely Eser who is a real asset to Basari. He was so kind attentive, he managed to get me into the hotel of my choice after putting me in the Ramada first, breakfast was included at both hotels, transport was always on time. Communication was effortless. I can’t thank Dr Elshan and Eser enough! I am so happy with my rhinoplasty results and Dr Elshan gave me the nose that I could only dream off.. I thought it would not be possible as I had a long droppy thick skinned nose to begin with!! Everything was 10/10, I would not go elsewhere and I had consultations with 15-30 other clinics in Turkey but Basari came on top. I did all my research and trust me when i write this review with nothing but positive attributes to say about the company. They really cared about me and what I wanted and never made it about money or sales. They were so understanding as I explained i was nervous. The hospital accommodated my husband and my 5 year old son, fed them and added an extra bed in the same room. It was so smooth sailing, I am still in shock I have had the surgery done after wanting it done for years! If your like me and are / were hesitant, please do not be. Basari is the clinic you need. I travelled from the UK and everything in istanbul was like the UK from the cleanliness to sterile equipment to top quality medication. The nurses were fabulous and soon as I pressed the buzzer with in seconds they were in changing my dressing etc. Also a big thank you to Nurse Akgozel who was so caring and became a friend.. a big thank you to the young nurse with blonde hair who when i was thirty right after surgery had got a cloth and wet it with cold water and rubbed it on my lips as I was not allowed water straight out of surgery. Amazing experience! I went to get a gastric balloon and Yasemin was extremely helpful and supportive during the entire process. After 6 months I came back to remove the balloon and I met Mahmut who was extremely lovely and supportive. The staff at the hospital (nurses) don’t speak English but they do your best to be friendly and to try to understand you. Everything was well organised, from the transfer service (airport, hospital, hotel) and the hotel was amazing. I had such a a lovely experience and would recommend for the gastric balloon service.

I had a great experience from start to end. I underwent a rhinoplasty surgery with Dr. Elshan Mammadov, and he is an absolutely amazing surgeon. He listened to everything i said i wanted for my rhinoplasty, and he delivered on it perfectly. I am now 3 weeks post op and already am in love with my nose! Additionally, the correspondence whilst i was in the UK was great & all questions i had were answered. I also had to have a 2nd surgery as i had got into a car accident whilst in Turkey, although i was upset it happened, Dr Mammadov immediately operated on me when it happened & took great care. I couldn't have asked for a better surgeon or choose a better hospital. I am very happy with the service i received!

My experience with Başarı Hospital was all in all amazing and seamless. From being picked up from the airport in stylish transport to being welcomed promptly yet warmly in to the hospital by nurses who took my bloods quickly, gave me and my mum dinner shortly after and made our first night very comfortable. The consultation with the surgeon the morning of surgery went really well & having my coordinator Eser there not only just to translate but also to lighten the mood really eased my nerves. My recovery was handled amazingly by all involved, checked on regularly by nurses, regular pain relief and support on getting up and walking around. They even looked after and fed my mum while i was in surgery. Even with a language barrier i felt really well looked after. The hotel we were transferd again was lovely, helpful and clean. There was a slight hick-up on arrival with the reservation, but within minutes of contacting Eser it was sorted and we were given our key. Breakfast every morning was also a great perk. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, however there's a metro about 5 min walk from the hotel which is easily connected to stations closer to the city centre. Before leaving, my check was handled great and both myself and Dr Elşen Mammadov were very pleased with the result :) My only point of advise is to request 'fit to fly' document while at the follow up appointment. I wasn't aware I needed this to check in due to my stitches, thankfully it was sorted by Eser very quickly but it's an easy bump in the road to avoid if handled in person at the hospital.

The most amazing hospital!!! From the start to finish the service has been outstanding. Eser, you a credit to the company I can’t thank you enough for your help and your kindness. The nurses and doctors and the surgeon was also fantastic and took so much care of me. I felt incredibly safe and looked after. The hospital was very clean, it was cleaned every 20 minutes. They provided food and travel too and from the airport. They even waited for me when I arrived late to Istanbul. I will forever be greatful God bless you all x
