I've been using AlcoSense Breathalyzers for about 8 years now to check my 'Morning After' alcohol levels and they are absolutely invaluable ;-) Although in general I am under the UK limit, there have been a couple of times when I've been over and felt fine! As a result, I delayed driving until below the level. I've purchased a later model as I want to keep one in my car and one in my Motorhome. My only complaint would be that the mouthpiece appears a little trickier to use that my previous model but so far, great results!

Bought Alcosense "Special Edition 2" from Lidl this morning. Am impressed with its compact size and clear, easy to use instructions. Hopefully it will give me peace of mind "the morning after"!

I purchased this because on very rare occasions, I've wanted to check if I'm okay to drive "the next day". I was also hoping it would do for driving through France but it's not approved for French NF standards. By the time I want to drive through France again, those disposable test have already expired and need replacing. Also, the result is not very clear to read. Anyway, back to this device. It's okay as a guide but I've found the results can vary quite a lot if you try doing the test a few times in a row. For that reason, I'm not sure I trust this with the future of my driving licence. It would also be nicer if it had a rechargeable battery with a micro USB charging socket so it can be charged from your in car 12v socket. On the plus side, I like that it has easily changeable tubes for hygiene. Because you're blowing into the device, you have confidence you're taking the test correctly compared with the old ones that you blow at.

Brilliant Device. Easy to set up and use. Tested at home after returning from the pub and drinking three pints. Warning not to drive flashed up immediately. Tested the following morning before driving and although a small amount of alcohol registering, showed safe to drive.

Bought the Alcosense Excel to replace my old breathalyser, which needed calibration twice per year and was nearly twice the price of the Alcosense calibration costs, which only need checking once per year. The Excel is a great machine, compact and easy to use as well as having the ability to set your own limits. Excellent price too!
