I thought I’d have a look at MW courses as I’ve done excellent courses there in the past. I was very disappointed to see that you’ve moved to East London. There’s no way I’m travelling from South London to Stratford so I’m going to have to look elsewhere. I did notice that you have a Blackfriars campus but couldn’t find a way to find out which courses are run there. Is there a quick way I can see what courses are run at Blackfriars?

All my general enquiries was responded within 1-2 working days, but when i applied and PAID for my courses, i have been emailing asking for updates and haven't received a response for 2 weeks. I sent them a test email from different email address and got a response the same day…. I am so confused, have i been scammed?

I was keen to join the course on Ancient India commencing 23 Sept but no details of the course were given on the website. I emailed the course admin address on the MW website but received no reply. When I managed to speak to someone at the Centre all she could tell me was that it was strange and she would enquire. How could anyone sign up for a course without any information about it e.g. what areas, periods and themes would be covered. Disappointing.

Hi I am unable to navigate your website to find out what courses are available. Is your website functional? How do I use the website to find courses available?

Mary Ward is the best free legal advice service I know. Recently I was helped again when a debt company was pressuring me to pay for a service I did not use who has taken court action against me for non payment. Typed up a letter with evidence of my financial circumstances to the solicitors working on behalf of the debt collector. The solicitors on reading the letter stated they were no longer pursuing the case against me, although the debt company has proceeded to ask me for further payments I am more than happy & very grateful for the exceptional work of this advocate & have no hesitation in recommending this legal centre as an exceptional force for advocating on cases in debt, housing, benefits etc. Many thanks Mary Ward Centre

I appreciated the open and respectful way challenging topics were addressed and debated. I shall miss the good humour and good will of all who participated in classes at Mary Ward.

Excellent college in the heart of London. Knowledgable tutors, very reasonable fees and friendly inclusive atmosphere.

Mary Ward is a gem - quirky, welcoming, and a great place to learn a huge range of skills and interests. I enjoy the excellent teaching (thank you Helen Maurer) and the great bunch of classmates who come in each week from all different parts of London and from different backgrounds and ethnicities and we all gel well in the friendly & positive mix. My Glass Fusion classes are the highlight of my week - great fun!

Course cancelled AGAIN due to lack of numbers. Can’t believe there aren’t enough people in London do run an Anthropology course. Is it lack of advertising in suitable places?

Mary Ward is transformative. The teaching there is different from what we all experienced as children. ‘Learning’ is facilitated there - there is no indoctrination. And there, you meet others who want to learn and who are curious about life. There is never a dull moment although plenty of hard working silence. Go. Try it for yourself!

Really great location (but moving at end of academic year), excellent tutors teaching great courses. Welcoming. Good cafe. Affordable. What’s not to love.

Mary Ward Centre was founded in an era where to learn was for one's own betterment or enlightenment and joy. Things have changed a bit in the last few decades but MW still offer an amazing range of courses with truly talented artisans and teachers. As a teacher myself, I appreciate learning in a group gently supported by teachers, where everyone helps one another and its not about testing, targets, accountancy and functional skills. Good mental health comes from making and creating. MW offers that excellent balance. Having said that, it is time for a growth spurt as everyone leaves for Stratford. Queen Sq is just a bus ride away but I will come to Stratford too, as I can reach it on the overground. It will be missed, but we best show our apprciation of what MW has represented, if we, the students are also part of the new beginning. We want it to succeed so we need to continue to support its invaluable work in a new neighbourhood.

Very disappointed that a 6 week course I had paid to attend was cancelled less than 24 hours before the day it was due to commence, this January. The cancellation text message was very matter of fact. I had phoned to make enquiries about any materials I needed to bring 3 days earlier. There was no mention of the class being cancelled. Surely they should know much earlier if numbers are viable.

A gem of college and a perfect place for studying after work. I enrolled on a Spanish course during Lockdown and loved it so much that I’m now on my 6th course. The teacher is excellent; encouraging, patience and fun, which makes learning Spanish a joy. Her classes are positive and inclusive where no one feels left behind. The courses are excellent value for money too. Would really recommend.

Such a friendly place and the range of courses is great - very wide ranging. Also very reasonably priced for a London college. I have done many courses there and the standard of teaching has always been excellent in all subjects. Highly recommended.
