Terrible product, I used to swear by this company as being one of the best. Fitted 3 x xled flood lights with pirs and all 3 have failed because the glue holding the front cover on has given up, resulting in water getting in to all 3 fittings.

We bought 6 Steinel products in total – 1xL600, 3xL605, 1xXLED Home 2 and 1xL620. The purchase of L600 was the worst purchase I ever made, so I think others should know how much trouble they may have with Steiner products and customer service if they decide to buy their products. We reported that our L600 stopped working on Sep 1st 2021. Steinel agreed to accept our reclamation and send us a new L600. After some issues to organize the pickup, we finally sent our L600 to Steinel on Sep 17th. No confirmation that they received the package nor when they will send us a new L600 was made. They returned to me on Oct 1st with information that they did not get my package even though I could see that they received it on Sep 22nd. On Oct 5th they said that they found the package and that my new L600 is on the way. On Oct 13th as I still didn't receive my new L600, I wrote to them again. On Oct 14th they answered that they don't have L600 in stock and that they will deliver it on Nov 10th. I protested but I did not get any answer, not even a short apology. On Oct 30th I asked if my L600 will be delivered on Nov 10th as promised and they answered that they sent it on Nov 3rd (it turned out to be L620 instead of L600, but that is ok). We got our new L620 on Nov 6th but it was not working either (the camera restarts by itself every minute or so). I reported this again but no answer for a week. I repeated my complaint on Nov 14th and finally on Nov 24 they said they will arrange a new pick up. On Dec 1 I sent my L620 to Steinel and asked when they will send me a third L600/L620. They said again that the product is out of stock and offered to return me the money. I accepted that On Dec 4th and since then neither have I got the answer that they sent me my money nor even the confirmation that they received my returned L620. I sent two reminders after that on Dec 10th and Dec 15th but no answer. So basically Stainer stole my ~220 EUR that I spent for the L600 leaving me now to seek justice in court. After all the problems I had one would think they would do everything they can to make up for my troubles (we exchanged 55 emails in total) incl. offering us a substantial compensation. But instead they didn't even apologize once all this time and also refused to give me their direct phone number. As I don't speak German, I am of course not able to come through their voice machine assistant when calling their number available on Google. --------------- I just want to comment that we got a good personal assistance with our issue in the end. We got our money back and also an apology, so everything is resolved now.

U.K. purchase via Amazon. I Purchased two night matic 2000. After two weeks one refuses to switch off in the morning and remains on all through the day in strong sunlight. I queried with their tech dept and received the reply “ when the twilight setting is set to 2 lux, the NM 2000 may only switch on when it gets dark.”🙄 Not what I expected from a quality German manufacturer. In fact it’s the poorest experience I’ve had given that I have a lot of high quality German made items including my car. Very disappointing😕

I used to be a fan of this company and its products but they have gone downhill. I made the mistake of buying their L22 sensor-switched outdoor light to illuminate a small area of patio outside my kitchen door. When I eventually got around to installing it (over a year after I bought it) I was dismayed by the very low level of light emanating from the recommended E27 60W filament bulb. I had to look directly at the unit to make sure that it had come on. I still needed a torch to see the step immediately outside the door, even though the L22 was installed at a height of 8ft just above the door. Too late to get a refund from Amazon, I contacted Steinel UK directly and asked if they would swap my L22 for another XLED Home 2 XL model which I had purchased a week earlier and was giving adequate, if not bright, illumination elsewhere. Steinel UK's Head of Internal Operations, Nicole Edwards told me that the L22 wasn't designed for functional illumination so I pointed out to her that neither their website nor Amazon's made this clear. So she offered as a goodwill gesture to sell me a XLED Home 2 XL model at trade price. But her "trade price" of £80.34 inc VAT turned out to be more than I can buy the same unit for from Amazon, including delivery, so I was underwhelmed by her notion of "goodwill". She refused to budge and I came her to post my review. My L22 will soon be listed on eBay - with a warning that it doesn't actually emit any useful light, so I may not find a buyer. I read that Steinel's international business has recently been sold so that may explain why the company seems not to be trying any more.

Seem to get no more than about 2 to 3 gears out the PIRs the ingress occurs in spite of being IP54 enclosure.

Fitted 6 steinel lights to our garden which worked without fault for nearly 5 years when one failed (products were warrantied for 5 years). Steinel UK were a pleasure to deal with and offered either a full refund or a replacement of the faulty item. I wish all companys ran their customer service and warranty departments like Steinel, their products can be purchased in confidence which is unusual these days.
