The content of the course is excellent with a great balance of regimented marine theory, animations, exercise drills and ongoing assessment. The friendly team are knowledgeable and always on hand if you can’t break the code and sail solo…

This course platform is a relic from the dark ages of online learning, resembling something straight out of Moodle's forgotten cousin. Don't let the flashy graphics on their website fool you; the course content is essentially an exercise in slogging through endless text, peppered with the occasional diagram or feeble attempt at animation. But here's the real kicker – their blatant money-grabbing tactics. I initially shelled out a hefty sum for the day skipper course, which supposedly included a "free" diesel mechanic course. Sounds great, right? Well, I never got around to accessing the latter. When I humbly requested an extension, explaining that I hadn't even activated the course, they callously turned me down and offered a paid extension instead. Fine, I bit the bullet and paid for the extension, only to let it gather digital dust, just like the original course. When I finally decided to request a reset, hoping for some understanding given my unemployed status, they not only patronized me but still refused to reset or extend my access and basically said my account would still be there when I got a job. To add insult to injury, they're now demanding a whopping £30 admin fee for the extension, all for a course I never activated in the first place. This is textbook terrible business practice, and I can safely say that I will never make the mistake of purchasing from them again. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

A superb resource for nautical theory courses. I was recommended Navathome by several people at my local marina when I was looking to do Day Skipper and Yachtmaster theory. The courses are excellent, and the instructors are very quick to aid when needed. Can't recommend enough.

I am somewhat unclear why others rate this provider so highly. My experience with the Yachtmaster theory does certainly not reflect this. I found the materials rather dated and clunky, not to mention a large number of typos. The free engine course that they provided was even worse. It had clearly never come near someone with a grasp of spelling. The touch and feel of the experience was definitely not that of modern online learning and the feedback provided by staff via email was generally not very informative. Given the large number of other providers out there I’d strongly recommend to you to try your chances elsewhere or to go for a residential course.

Challengeing course, very interesting, a lot of exercises. You get everything you need per post. If you do it on your own without the help of a sailing instructor it might be hard for someone without thorough pre-knowledge. Be prepared to invest quite some time. Possibility for extending the duration at low cost.
