The lights in my 8 year old Westin cooker hood stopped working. Had to pay £323 to get them fixed! The LED driver needed replacing, the part was £19.19 and it was a 10 minute job. The £250 +vat call out charge is outrageous.

Useless product…. Doesn’t work when you switch it on…. Comes on in the middle of the night…. Customer services in Uk no help whatsoever Updated: spoke to customer services - they advised that it would cost £300 plus VAT just for a call out to assess the problem. Any repair would be charged on top of this. We were even willing to give this a go - despite the outrageous cost - but transpired the engineer is not even a Westin guy, just a regular electrical repairer. Have decided to replace with Miele, which is what we should have installed from the outset. If you’re looking for a premium cooker hood, stick with brands like Miele who can back up the product with decent after sales and customer service.

When I purchased a premium extractor hood, I expected help when things go wrong. The responses from Westin on my previous reviews demonstrate the lack of assistance I have received. I had a Westin hood fitted in July, and it drips grease onto my induction hob. Constantly. Which is very unpleasant. I have now repurchased ducting from Westin, as the previous ducting wasn’t from them, to see if this will resolve the issue. They have failed to offer an appropriate level of support for a premium product, and I have been left to try to resolve this issue, on my own and at my own cost. I wouldn’t purchase a Westin product again.

We have a Westin cooker hob which cost £2,500 and it is fantastic !!! It comes with the central extraction port within the hob centre which worked normally until recent . Rang Westin to explain there appeared to be for some reason no power to the extractor unit which was very quickly resolved within a matter of Weeks after a visit from one of their field engineers who was extremely courteous and polite.Superb quality hob and British made!!!

Bought the Westin Serna extractor hood just 6 years ago and now appears to have packed up. For £1000 approx had expected better. Motor not turning the fan. Received your reply. We have examined motor and bearings are on their way out. Lubricated and now working but I fear won't last long. Maybe you can restore my faith in your product by sending me free of charge a replacement spring that fits over the ducting flaps? Who should I ask for?

As a kitchen retailer I have worked with Westin for over 15 years. I know that if I have a difficult requirement or when a customer wants extraction that works better than anything else, I specify Westin. Over the years I can only recall a couple of times when I've required a service call. These have always been resolved promptly & proffessionally. This is a great British company, who I have used for extraction in my own personal kitchen.

Ordered a bespoke cooker hood at a cost of over £2500.00 Had trouble getting them to make good drawings and then when supplied it did not match the drawing or the specification Asked for rear exhaust and though drawn as such it arrived as vertical extraction. Was then told I could purchase 90 degree bending fittings to make it work, despite the drawing showing the bend in situ and the quote also stating it to be rear exhaust. Very poor sales staff will never call you back if you leave messages and refuse to accept mistake even though they did accept the drawing and quote was correct stating rear extraction. Final excuse "we never provide pipe bends and ducting even if we add them to drawing" but we will in future make it clear on drawings and quotes. Guess my crystal ball was just not working when I read drawings and quotation. So buyers beware you may not get what is drawn or quoted for.

As we had quite a awkward space to fit an extractor to I booked a site visit for £288. Westin rep came out, took lots of notes and measurements and we agreed a design that would work. However, the design that the Westin design team sent was totally different and didn't include several features I had asked about. Number of lights, position of lights, position of buttons were all not what was agreed. Westin agreed a 50% discount on the site visit, but I decided to look elsewhere for an extractor rather than trust Westin to make one (at nearly £2k) after their failure to design according to our discussion. Site visit was effectively pointless. Edit: They've also queried this review with Trust Pilot over 3 years after it was submitted. Make of that what you will. Edit 2: And they've called me as soon as my phone number was submitted to trustpilot. Given the site visit was 2019 (over 3 years ago) I find it difficult to believe they have any motive other than attempting to remove a negative review.
