United Kingdom | 14 September 2024Steer Away! This company will get everything wrong and create much more problems than they are worth. They have a team of incompetent people. I have been trying to get them to sort my blind for FIVE YEARS. Do yourself a favour, find a better company because there are lots of good people out there that supply Markilux blinds and other good makes. Take heed of this review - I've saved you a big fat headache!

The design is both functional and aesthetically pleasing, perfectly complementing my home. Customer Service: The customer service was outstanding. The team was knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to help with any questions I had. They guided me through the selection process, ensuring I chose the best option for my needs. Installation Process: The installation was seamless. The installers arrived on time, were professional, and completed the job efficiently. They took care to ensure everything was perfect before leaving, and they left the area clean and tidy. Overall Satisfaction: I am incredibly satisfied with my purchase. The awning has transformed my outdoor space, providing much-needed shade and enhancing the overall look of my home. I would highly recommend Deans Blinds to anyone in need of a high-quality awning and excellent service. Thank you, Deans, for a fantastic experience!

United Kingdom | 12 July 2024Beware of extortionate costs! Know that Deans charge huge call out fees disproportionate to the service or issue: £480 for an hour with extra costs for more time and parts. There are similar companies out there with better service.

United Kingdom | 14 October 2021Working with Deans Blinds has quite honestly been one of the worst customer experiences we've ever had. As a business owner, I hate leaving negative feedback, but in this case I feel people should know what they're dealing with - as reflected by other reviews on this site. When our Victorian shop awning was replaced in 2015, there were numerous cock-ups from their team, resulting in a months-long delay over a very hot summer (our shop overheated, products exploded in the sun). We noticed in early 2020 that part of the wooden support rail was starting to fall apart and it has since completely rotted. Consultations with other awning specialists say this extreme level of rot is highly unusual and that inferior timber or softwood must have been used during the original install. Deans refused to take any responsibility for this, refusing to even to make a site visit to inspect in person, and insisting that the only remedy was to get a whole new awning (wood and canopy) - at full cost. Their customer services team even implied we were lying about it! When the CEO finally got involved, we were offered the opportunity to get the rotted wood replaced (again, at our cost) - only for another member of the team to backtrack on this and insist that we needed an entire new awning... Back to square one. On top of that, during all of this carry on, one of their team members working on a neighbouring business came into our shop and kicked off at a staff member when he was politely asked to wear a mask - our staff member felt extremely unsafe. It has been a genuinely horrible experience all round - incompetence and unacceptable delays at the start, followed up by rude and aggressive customer service and vile anti-mask nonsense. I think Deans believe because they are the cheapest in town that they can get away with poor service and treating customers with disdain. Just spend the extra money elsewhere and get better service that doesn't leave you with a bad taste in your mouth.

United Kingdom | 13 August 2021We are very pleased with our Markilux awning from Deans - but the journey to this point was tortuous. Our first Deans awning, purchased on advice from the Deans salesperson was the wrong size and in the wrong location. It provided shade for our fence, rather than the window as defined in the brief to Deans. It was a huge waste of money. Second time round we knew to do all the research and planning ourselves rather than leave that expertise to Deans. We were cautious to check and double check what was being ordered, thankfully as there was confusion at one point. The lead time was weeks longer than advised initially. The saga ran on longer than intended as when delivered not all elements on the order were included so an additional 4 weeks were added too. There are other companies that supply and fit the same products and you have a choice.

United Kingdom | 13 May 2021I had my awnings fitted with great ease and no problems, helpful staff and personalised to exactly what I wanted. As a small company it’s hard to find trusted sources but Deans blinds restored that faith for me. 5 star service thank you for all your help!

United Kingdom | 03 May 2021I used Deans blinds as someone I knew got a quote off them. In hind sight I wish I had shopped around. A representative of Deans blinds came at the beginning of February. I explained the brief very specifically. I wanted an awning that covered the width of the garden. To then create an additional outside room with no space for rain to enter from the sides. He made the measurements and said that they could definitely do the awning to the brief and specifications. He advised that he would send a quote and once half of the amount was paid the awning would then be ordered straight away. He said the current lead time would be 4/6 weeks. I made the transfer 04/2/21. For their lead times it should have been installed by the 17th March. I found out later that for whatever reason they only ordered the awning on the 17/02. Just under 2 weeks from when I made my order. On the 26/02 I got a call saying it was going to be delayed and the new time frame would be between 29/3 and 9/4. On the 15/3 I got a very odd call from the representative. Saying some of his colleagues needed to come around to take some more measurements and pictures. This made me start to have serious doubts about the representative and colleague. As without the first delay the awning should have been installed two days later. Then on the 17/3 I received a call from the representative saying that the awning I ordered wasn’t possible. (This then confirmed my suspicion that it hadn’t even started to be manufactured. He said that the only possibility was to shorten the width. He said there were no possible alternatives. From later speaking to my architect. He said that it could have still been done using a different bracket and even by adding another fitting in the middle. Or reducing the length slightly. I was not at home then due to work. He said it wouldn’t make any difference to the brief and would still create the space that I wanted but I needed to make a decision then. They did offer a small reduction in price. Then on 19/3 it got delayed again to between 12/4-23/4. At the beginning I stated that I needed the awning to be done by the end of March and was told this wouldn’t be a problem. The awning was finally installed on the 19th. When it was finished it didn’t fill the brief I gave them at all. There is now a very significant gap on one side that not only lets the wind in but also rain coming in from the side. I am now left with a very expensive awning that does not fit my brief or the use I wanted to get from it. I tried emailing the representative about this. He responded once. But then stopped responding at all. When I asked him what could be done to try to make the awning at all functional for purpose. I asked if a side awning, tarp etc but no response. I’m just really irate about the whole situation. I have a very nice and good looking awning. But it doesn’t fit the purpose at all.

United Kingdom | 18 November 2020It is a pleasure to report that I have had Deans Blinds back again to fit awnings for me. The second experience was ever bit as good as the first, if not better. The service that I received pre-installation satisfied all my technical requirements and the actual fitting was carried out in a timely and professional manner. It was a pleasure to deal with Deans, from the estimator then through the pre-ordering and finally the fitting. Five well deserved stars

United Kingdom | 12 December 2019In December I got in touch with Deans of Putney regarding a fault that had developed on a canopy they supplied and fitted over 20 years ago The control cord had worn thin and had slipped over the pulley and in doing so had jammed between the pulley wheel and its housing, thus causing the canopy to seize up in its open position. Mindful of a forecast of gusty weather, I was keen to remedy this situation, but was unable to do so owing to access difficulties. so I sought assistance from the company. Reply from Deans blinds Canopy enquiry Deans blinds If you are very concerned about the safety of the blind we could offer an emergency call out which we could organise within 5 – 7 working days. The charge for this would be £300.00 + VAT, which is not deductible of the final payment. We will do the best that we can, but please note that we cannot guarantee that we will be able to close/fix the blind there and then. My Gardener removed the blind in less than 5 minutes!!!!
