Ali auto was my instructor and with his help I passed 1st time. Each lesson taught me more and more and my confidence could not have been any higher. I cannot recommend him enough.

Waqar has been a great instructor, we got along really well and after a few months of lessons I was able to pass the exam. The car was very nice to drive and comfortable. I was also able to take advantage of very fast exam booking, which is essential these days given the waiting times on DVSA website.

Switching to 1Driving after a bad experience with another driving school was the best choice I made. Adil, my instructor, was patient, professional, and focused on improving my weaknesses, which built my confidence. Thanks to his excellent teaching, I passed my driving test first time! My instructor was Nasir; he was very patient, he explained everything very well and in my case more than 1 time without being frustrated. Down to earth, easy going and bubbly.

Booked services of around 8-10 sessions & expedited test services. Will divide my review on the basis of different sections: 1) Professionalism & Governance [1] Its run by a small family - nothing wrong with that IMO, but I felt they lacked a professional structure to enable it. A lot of things felt ad-hoc & its was difficult to understand who the SPOC was - I was rotated to different people for different aspects and currently have 4 different numbers of 4 individuals from the company. Roles seemed unclear & I felt that the capacity to deal with new clients is not enough to the resources they have. I think this generates confusion At the start, I was assigned to an instructor & we exchanged information, and my personal details. Few hours later, we all collectively found out he was the wrong person & my instructor is actually someone else. Similarly, I was communicated my test would be booked for a certain date and I managed my office / multiple other commitments as per the date. Turns out the date was "tentative". Amount of follow-ups / time to get responses was very high - and I felt the onus was on the customer drive this. 2) Expertise & Support by Teacher [3]: The teacher had the knowledge expertise and was very supportive and kind. I can safely assume that he knew the finer details & had a strong knowledge base. Nice gentleman who I believe had the best intentions at heart. but perhaps limited with the equipment / approach he had. I have seen other instructors using check lists to ensure all gaps are covered etc because in the end we are all human. I felt I had to drive that conversation through my concerns (example - going on a mock test / following routes / asking for information on test / practicing specific techniques etc). Result: One of the things highlighted to me post the test by the examiner was something I had not been trained on at all (not saying that was the only reason I did not clear). Being more structured can definitely help them. 3) Resources & equipment [2] Not sure what software they have to expedite the test dates, but their service is not particularly fast - case in point, been a month since my test and I have not even gotten a booking (follow-up myself almost every other day). Second, on the vehicles - maybe they need to upgrade their fleet; definitely easier to drive a newer vehicle. My expectations is based on the rates charged - Red Driving School has similar rates (maybe very slightly higher), but their vehicles are very new vs what 1Driving offers. Similarly, I felt there could have been more material / tools / teaching techniques that could have been employed (like step by step guides or something / reading material for self learning). 4) Value for money [2] Rates are pretty similar with other driving schools At £40 pounds an hour. The additional costs of expedited tests is also similar. However, there is no discounts / promotions regardless of whether you pass or fail or how many sessions you buy. Almost all companies have bulk discounts etc which brings your hourly rate down to around 35-38 (depending on the company). If you choose to take their car to the test, you will need to pay an additional 200£ for car rental - alongside the cost of the instructor. I did not understand this at all. In summary, would recommend you do your own research & assess what is most important to you - this is my experience, and my judgement - could be a one off for me. Good luck to you and to 1Driving.

Passed First time Great instructors had to change 3 time due to my personal circumstances with the help of Asif made it smooth and easy. All instructors are kind, friendly and will always help out to make you pass first time. Big Shoutout to Wakar had most my lessons with him!!

Kam is an amazing driving instructor! He’s my 2nd one. I love that he made this horrible technique in my head to be simply STEPS, very clear no “just guess or just common sense”. He adds on additional skills when I can perform those learned on top but not taking out the previous ones, making sure I can do more and more every time. Also he is calm and always reminding me just pay attention on the instructions whenever I hear any myths on driving test. Highly recommend 👍🏻
