United Kingdom | 28 November 2022I’ve been searching for a compatible keyboard for some time now. I’ve used a £40 wireless one from Amazon which has done the job but has always slid off after a sharp break or a turn. I’m now secured. Got two batteries, it’s much heavier but I’m usually at a desk where it stands independently, it’ll lay me all day for work and I love it! Came extremely quick and so far the only issue I’ve had with it is that the touchpad is slightly desensitised but is no hinderance to daily functionality and I felt it was a steal at £274 when I know colleagues have paid between £300-£600

United Kingdom | 21 July 2022I've been asked by Vulu to give an honest review of the service they have recently provided and this is that: Vulu trades on Amazon's market place. They sell second hand refurbished desktop computers (PC's) at very affordable prices. I bought a Dell Optilex S7010 i3 (i is for Intel) PC which runs at 3·4GHZ for £70·99 and has USB3 as well as USB2 ports; a solid state 128GB hard drive and WINDOWS10 Professional operating environment. When I opened the parcel I was impressed with the appearance of the PC. It looked brand new but I could not see any USB3 ports so sent them an email querying which ports were USB3. Every PC or laptop I've ever used has always had a blue inner when it's USB3 and this PC had none that had a blue inner. When they replied the very next day: they explained that not all USB3 ports had a blue inner. Many did but many: especially those belonging to older refurbished computers which had been upgraded to incorporate USB3 ports when before they had not included them, These would not have blue inners but instead the word SS by the usual USB icon (I assume an acronym for Super Speed) would be present instead and out of the many USB ports four: two at the back of the PC and two of the four at the front had SS next to the normal USB icon. When I wrote my email I asked two questions and both were answered when Vulu made their very prompt reply. I am an old man who isn't keen on USB connections. USB are a good idea. Essential connections because Parallel and Serial ports have long since been replaced by USB controlled appliances but when it comes to external hard drives I prefer eSATA. The trouble with USB is that USB shares the controller's transfer speeds with all the appliances connected to the control card. If each USB port had its own dedicated control card then USB would be a more adequate connection but most PC's and laptops do not have more than one control card which supplies the transfer speeds to all the ports the PC or laptop possesses. eSATA does not share transfer speeds. "What you see" (with eSATA) "is what you get". WYSIWYG is what IDE computers always used to brag in the last millennium. USB1 transfers at a speed of 40MB/sec USB2: 450MB/sec and USB3: 5GB/sec BUT if you have four USB3 ports on your PC (as this Optilex S7010 has): if there is is only one control card, the transfer speed you can ONLY get has got to 5GB/sec divided by 4. That's 1·1GB/sec IF you do not add more USB3 appliances by adding extra USB hubs to the USB3 ports. If you do, then that 1·1GB/sec transfer speed per appliance is reduced further. A lot of PC end users contact the computer supplier because the transfer speed they actually get is always much less than the advertised speed. What the seller usually says it that a virus has corrupted the computer but it's nothing to do with a virus at all. It's an inferior USB system. The second question I asked in my email was: could Vulu add a 6GB/sec eSATA PCIe (for express) control card to the small factor S7010 PC I had purchased. I had the necessary card but not one small enough to fit into a small factor PC and I had not realised the PC I had purchased was small factor until it was delivered to me. Without incurring any fee for their time in connecting the new hardware, I was able to return the 7010 to get a small factor PCIe 6GB/sec eSATA multiplex control card added to the PC. All I had to pay was £14·99 for collection from my home and £9.99 for it to be returned to me, plus the cost of the PCIe card that Vulu had to purchase. obviously. The PC came with 8GB of RAM and I don't play games or stream video so really 8GB is more than adequate for my needs but RAM is so cheap these days and seeing as I was returning the PC to them, I thought I'd get an extra 8GB of RAM installed as well. The entire upgrade cost me £97·97 which provides me with a total of four external hard drives each capable of transferring/copying files at 6GB/sec. A more than adequate task for any PC that has 16GB of RAM installed so I am very happy indeed. The entire process took less than four days to accomplish. From the very first email I wrote to the time that by direct courier: the upgraded PC was returned to me. I couldn't connect the PC to any appliance yesterday because it was too hot. 39° in London where I live but when I did today, everything worked as it should have so I am exceptionally pleased with Vulu and would recommend them to everyone and I too am likely to ask them to effect repairs to existing other computing equipment I also possess. I've always been an hands-on sort of guy but at 83 I'm now just not capable; to not possess the stamina or inclination to get my hands dirty to affect any upgrade myself. Hopefully, Vulu WILL BE able to do this for me if I ask them politely. That's my review. I'm sorry it was so lengthy.
