This course is fantastic. It's super flexible, and the support you get in the online community is truly unique. The course is laid out in a way that's easy to understand and dyslexic-friendly.

I would recommend this course in a heartbeat to anyone thinking for doing online studying! As someone who never thought they had a chance for going to uni, I’m now starting in September, I got everything I needed from this course to meet my conditions. I had Laura and Dana as my main tutors and wow they are amazing! They present their PowerPoints and recorded videos wonderfully, they are fast to answer any messages or questions you might have, also very helpful when marking your work and explaining everything. I’d do this course again in a heartbeat and it’s worth every penny, very grateful for this course!

I feel like I have gained knowledge that prepares me for higher education, and I am looking forward to it. My science tutors were lovely and helpful given their roles and busy lives outside of it. However, I cannot rate this five stars as some other aspects are rather poor; the accommodations they state they provide are seemingly non-existent (Except for Laura, who tried her best to accommodate my disabilities), communication is also very slow and poorly managed, probably due to the high number of students compared to staff, which brings me to my final complaint being the management. Everything negative seems to stem from it, such as me not being contacted over a week late due to an error in their entry system and in the previous complaints about communication, it seems nothing is made to be clear or understandable for the students, tutors or moderators. Also, as the course page states itself as "self-paced", this only refers to a very loose idea of the term, as I found myself being told that I was too fast and I should slow down, as "To have done so much of your course is less than 2 months is a red flag that the grades could be jeopardised". It felt rather insulting and accusatory, and I was often left feeling a sense of guilt for doing the work I was given in the way I feel comfortable (Doing heaving research for days, and writing for days, reviewing and then submitting), yet another failure of their "accommodation".

I have thoroughly enjoyed the Computer Science course. The lead tutor is very knowledgeable and has been very supportive throughout. I never really had a particular interest in coding; however, having completed the coding modules I found those, as well as the website development and mobile computing assignments, the most enjoyable and rewarding to complete. I would recommend this course to others.

I started this course to assist my journey to be accepted on to a university degree. I am a 30 year old male with 2 children and currently working 2 jobs, which would benefit more from a degree and to propel my career. From the very start, Jemma Graham and Dr Sana Rehman were most helpful. They worked with me to schedule in the best possible times and hours for the Diploma, working around my jobs and my children, they were comforting and caring as well pushing me to my full potential. I could not have done it without them both and for me I have learnt so much and have now walked out of this course with a high distinction and have been accepted to my first choice university course. I decided to enrol onto the access to public sector and policing course as I needed the qualification to become a police officer. This is an amazing course and all the staff are lovely and helpful, they are active all the time and will do anything to help.

I decided to enrol on the Access to Nursing course as I needed the qualifications to go to University. It was the best decision I could of made. The modules are greatly structured and the lessons and guidance is amazing. They make it really easy to understand. I have fantastic tutors that have helped me through getting back into study again and have been a great support system. I will miss their support when I complete my course.

I was someone with no scientific knowledge or had been out of school for a decade but with this Access course Online have gained good knowledge about science, biology, essay writing, planning, and a lot of skills. I have chosen midwifery and it is a brilliant course. The teachers are Professional, friendly, very helpful and give lots of support. It is one of the best decisions in my life and I am enjoying every minute of the course.

Really great, supportive and responsive, engaging tutors and so many great resources! The platform which is all in Microsoft teams isn't like the typical platforms other online courses use so its way more simple and fun to use. There's not just loads of reading, there's prerecorded lectures so it really caters to different learning styles which helps result in minimum boredom (after all sometime studying can still be boring in nature). With other providers I have found tutors to be super distance and you also don't get the opportunity to interact with other students but here you get all of that so you don't feel isolated and can still learn the essential skill of communicating and getting the important experience of interacting with other students because after all this is a course to lead you to Higher Education where that is a big part of student life. You won't feel unprepared or neglected at all here! The tutors really want you to succeed and they are prepared to help you as long as you put in all the effort! Timings are flexible as well. Definitely recommend.

I love that the Tutors are always just a message or phone call away and the lessons are live. Great that they are recorded too so that you can easily catch up. After being out of education for a couple of years I’ve found them extremely understanding and helpful.

A really great flexible course that I’ve found really easy to fit around my work and life. The tutors are really supportive and patient, while also understanding that life gets busy and sometimes school work must be put on the back burner. I’ve only been here for a couple of months but am really enjoying my course and am finding it super flexible as well as feel like I’m gaining something!

They are consistently available to offer guidance and assistance, and when they are not immediately accessible, they are exceedingly prompt in their responses. The course content is exceptional, and the opportunity to engage both in online class sessions and through team chats outside of class, including sharing resources, is highly valued. I wholeheartedly recommend this program to anyone seeking to pursue a career and in need of access to higher education.

Pros - Very flexible around full-time & part-time work. Ability to spread the payment of course over 12 months. Entirely remote. Cons - Lack of structure on induction with the course tutor. Consistent significant gaps in response times (often taking up to a week). Missed deadlines from tutor e.g. assignment briefs being set, receiving feedback on work. Lack of attention to detail in the course content e.g. technical difficulties in recordings which haven't been fixed. The time taken to grade the first graded module took up 3 months of the course time which is a year, with at least 9 modules. I submitted this with time remaining on the deadline. My concerns about the timing of the modules being set and graded I don't feel have been taken seriously. Overall, the concept of the course is really good but the actual experience so far is frustrating. I'd hoped to graduate within a year which was definitely attainable, but I'm unsure how that can now feasibly happen without an immense push from my end.

The support from course leaders and tutors is second to none, they are (almost) always available! When they’re not available, they are super quick to get back to you and so helpful. The course content is great and I love that we have interacted both online in class sessions and out of of class in the teams chat (sharing resources etc). Would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking to pursue a career and requires access to HE.

I am doing the Access to Higher Education Computer Science. This course will allow me to go to university this year. The weekly lessons provide lots of useful information and resources. My tutor gives helpful feedback that is easy to follow and has been able to come up with a solution to all the problems I have had so far. The support provided by the staff is very good. I am enjoying the course and would recommend it to anyone who needs A-level equivalent qualifications.

I am currently doing the access course in my gap year, i’ve loved every part of it. The flexibility is great and I have thoroughly enjoyed completing assignments.
