What made my experience great was firstly the staff. Everyone was so helpful, knowledgeable, kind and warm. In particular, Jenaya is a great asset to the office, so sure, confident, joyful and efficient. Mr Bizrah was patient with all my questions, warm, with really good credentials. I always felt I was in good hands, he was confident and clear about the procedure, what I should expect through the process, so I felt reassured. He was gentle and worried for me because I was not always serious about the procedure and my work commitments. He went out of his way to make time for me and I felt valued.

Unable to have laser eye surgery to correct my short-sightedness due to having thin corneas, I started looking at ICL surgery as a suitable alternative. As part of my journey, I had a couple of other consultations with other care providers before my consultation at Harley Vision; unlike the other consultations - which felt overly sales-like - at Harley Vision, I got to meet the consultant who would be performing my surgery, Mr Mukhtar Bizrah, during my initial consultation. This put my mind at ease as Mr Bizrah took great care in talking me through the surgery, the post-op care, his experience and indeed answering my numerous questions about the surgery itself and the quality of outcomes. Not only this, but my interaction with each member of the team who took care of me during my initial consultation was fantastic - I got a strong sense that at Harley Vision, they place the customer journey at the forefront of their operations and I knew from the second I left my initial consultation that I would proceed and book my ICL surgery with them. In between my initial consultation and scheduling my surgery, I was looked after by the Practice Manager, Jenaya Stewart - if I had one word to describe Jenaya, it would be ‘efficient’! When I had to go to the hospital for my ECC scan, the hospital made a scheduling error owing to staff absence (not the fault of Harley Vision!) and I was left in the waiting room for approximately 15mins with no one knowing what was going on. I then dropped Jenaya an E-mail to let her know what was happening and with lightning speed, Jenaya called me to explain what had happened at the hospital and that someone would be with me in five minutes to take me for my scan. To my surprise, they arrived three minutes later! Additionally, and on one of my follow-up appointments, there was a planned tube strike; before I was even aware of this fact, Jenaya called me to bring this to my attention to see if this would affect my ability to attend the appointment or if we should reschedule! The day before my surgery, I managed to herniate a disc in my back but for a variety of reasons (including travel plans) I didn’t want to reschedule my surgery and especially not at such short notice. When I arrived for my surgery, I explained this to Mr Bizrah who was understanding and his team took great care to make sure I was as comfortable as possible during the surgery. The surgery itself was… oddly relaxing! I experienced absolutely no pain or discomfort and I was out of the operating room approximately 50 mins later with some rather fetching eye protectors, but otherwise near-perfect vision. The most difficult part about the surgery was getting off the operating table (see herniated disc!). The post-op care of eye drops every four hours for two weeks just became a part of my routine and it almost became encouraging to keep up with this routine as my eyesight was improving day by day… As I type this review now, I am just over two weeks post-surgery and I am reading SIX lines better than 20/20 vision! The quality of my life has improved drastically as a result and I genuinely could not be happier with the outcome… the surgery is absolutely life changing and the only regret I have is that I didn’t have the surgery sooner. If you are even contemplating ICL surgery, I cannot recommend Mr Bizrah and his team at Harley Vision enough… you will not be disappointed!
