I accidentally found an advert online when I was browsing. I saw a ring I liked, but hesitated and thought long about, it because there are so many scams. I returned to have a second look & still liked it, therefore decided to phone them when I saw they had a landline, which I trust more than a mobile. I spoke to them on 2 occasions & was very pleased to trust them. the sale went through easily and I was very impressed with how the package arrived and how prompt it was, so much so, I have since made a second purchase.

The ring was as described and it is lovely. The service was prompt and delivery to France was excellent.

Very disappointed about how a recent purchase situation has now made me feel i no longer want to shop here which is quite bothersome to me as the jewellery is outstanding quality. So what happened you might ask? I purchase a pre owned gold chain not even 3 months ago and the clasp/spring had broken, so i phoned up my local store to be told sorry we cant deal with it, you have to go to the manchester store as they deal with all the repairs etc, ok no problem. So i phone the manchester store, spoke to someone over the phone, yep it can be repaired blah blah come down tomorrow, ok fine, will do. I go to the store, speak to the lady at front desk, who was by the way, very helpful.. She explained it was her day off previous so she has no knowledge of it, goes into the baxk to enquire, comes back out to the front for my piece of jewellery to take into the back for inspection... Where conversations took place and i could hear what was being said... The lady comes back out with my piece of jewellery, to inform me which id just heard being spoken in the back... It can't be repaired it needs to be replaced and the cost will be £420... Now before i lashed out at the obvious bullshit id just heard being spoken in the back room about how "we cant be bothered to fix it so tell him hes just got to buy a new one", i thought its better to take my stuff away before losing control, better for both parties as i couldnt be bothered with an argument and dealing with someone so arrogant and lack minded attitude (by the way this chain was £5000 pre owned, so yes, expensive and valuable considering PRE OWNED, imagine the cost if new). Anyway, after walking out and calming down, id found a bespoke jewellers in Stockport whom also deals in repairs... I go to the store, yep no problem, should be around £25-40 including labour... I almost had a heart attack, not because of how much cheaper it was, but because he can actually repair it, unlike the people id purchased it from, oh forget loyalty and all. After having him do the repair i asked out of curiosity, oh if it was a replace and new etc, how much... He goes into his book, gets a measurment laser out, blah blah, "it would be anywhere from £190-240.... Almost half the price!!!!! And that includes labour... So yes, am i frustrated angry annoyed and extremely upset with how i was treated, conaidering ive spent over £13,000 in 2 years at this store... Yes... Has it affected if im going to continue shopping here, 100% ill be looking around from now on, because its clear to me that the aftercare customer support is quite disappointing when it comes into the fact how much ive spent with the name "william mays jewellers"
