The residency program at Iris Art was just what I was looking for! Annette is a great and thoughtful teacher, providing me with a lot of tools and insights. The stay at the residency according to accommodation and schedule was great, especially the home cooked meals! I would definitely recommend a stay for artists who want to focus on their work with some guidance and enjoy some time off in a beautiful landscape just outside of Athens.

My residency at ‘The Iris Arts Centre’ was a truly delightful experience and gave me much more than I was expecting. Annette is a very generous host and was very well prepared for my residency in many unexpected ways. She offered both structure and freedom in her mentoring practice, which enabled me to think more objectively about my project. Annette introduced me to several of her colleagues, all working artists, and they kindly opened up their studios to me, which was a very rewarding experience. Annette helped me to look more clearly at my project and understand the work in more depth. Through Annette’s teaching, I was able to clarify a new way forward for my project, which I have been working on for many years. I was inspired by the whole environment of the Iris Arts Centre which was very peaceful and nourishing in a ‘wholistic’ way and which enabled me to completely focus on my practice. Annette was constantly ‘feeding’ me with both visual and literary resources and with her kind and sensitive attention to my requirements. Annette also ‘fed’ me literally with delicious home made food and she is a first class cook.The studio space was very pleasant and was well equipped and comfortable. It had plenty of space and everything I needed to fully focus on my work, without any distractions.The location is simply beautiful and is close to a train station which takes you to Athens in around 30 minutes. The property is lovely and has extensive well kept gardens and a very nice pool for hot days. The accommodation is calm and very clean and comfortable with easy access to the well equipped studios and large arts library. Annette showed me several arts films in this space, which was enjoyable and something I wasn't expecting. I cannot thank Annette enough for her insight, professionalism and care. I am very confident in returning to the Iris Arts Centre in future to work with Annette in resolving any issues I might have with my work. Thank you Annette!

Iris Art Centre is an incredible place for an art workshop in Greece. It is full room and board so all I had to think about was what I wanted to paint each day. The location was beautiful! The director and one of the instructors— Annette Luycx, teaches collage workshops and Developing Artistic Voice for artists and creatives searching for a new direction in their art-making, and is knowledgeable and a warm and wonderful host. I took the outdoor painting workshop with Yannis Antonakeas. Annette added art history, evening films, and general art practice discussions. The food was amazing and the surroundings were peaceful and beautiful (including a swimming pool set among vineyards!). I will return!

This is an incredible place for a coaching residency. Annette works with each artist individually and helps them clarify their artistic voice. She has an amazing collection of art films and books. The food she serves is delicious, the location is so beautiful and there are many great opportunities to explore Attica a bit more. Total value for money!
