I have been a customer with Pasta Evangelists for several years now. I made an order with their takeaway delivery service, directly through their website last night. It was made at around 9PM on 26th January 2024, the website said the order was accepted and it would take around 30 or so minutes for the order to arrive. At 22:02 the order still hadn't arrived and I called their helpline. The support agent told me they were having problems locating delivery drivers and the order was delayed, but had no indication of how long it would take. At 22:49 I called back as the order still hadn't arrived. The support agent told me now that the kitchen was very busy which had caused further delays but that our order was now being prepared, according to the system. At 23:42 the order still hadn't arrived and I was aware the kitchen had closed at midnight. I waited in a queue on the phone (as number 1 in the queue the entire time) for 15 minutes before I hung up and requested a callback. It genuinely seemed that on a Friday night, the delivery service had one customer support agent working. At just after midnight the support agent called me back. She said she didn't know what had happened to the order but confirmed the kitchen would now be closed. She said perhaps the order will arrive at some time the following day - a frankly ludicrous suggestion for an order that was already 3 hours late. She offered account credit and I said but that means we have to order with you again, and I don't see why we should. She said she can't process a refund herself and would have to raise it as an escalation. Aside from the obvious issue that our order never arrived, these problems are also unacceptable: - the order was accepted and at no point in the evening was there any notification that the food would not be delivered or that there was any problem - the support agent is clearly nowhere near the restaurant/kitchen itself. This isn't abnormal these days but it was also clear that at no point in the evening did she communicate directly with the restaurant - the support agent had absolutely no idea what was happening with our order at any time other than that it had been accepted - Pasta Evangelist's system has no method for the customer to contact the restaurant/kitchen - the support agents don't have the ability to process refunds, even under ridiculous circumstances such as last night I can't understand how the situation last night occurred. Pasta Evangelists isn't a small local fast food restaurant with one or two members of staff that has just opened for the first time. They're a major, successful company and the experience we had is simply unacceptable. You can't take people's money, accept an order and then just not do it. If there was an unforeseen issue, the kitchen needs to call me and tell me. Last night was the worst experience I have ever had ordering food from any restaurant, with any delivery service. I don't see why I should ever use Pasta Evangelist's seemingly abysmal takeaway service ever again. I'm also seriously considering never using their meal kit service either because frankly, I feel like I've been treated atrociously last night and I would feel stupid for giving them another chance. Situations like last night don't occur in well-functioning businesses and something is clearly wrong. I can't put into words how disappointing last night's experience was. Especially since I've mostly had good experiences with Pasta Evangelists previously when ordering their meal kits.

I have nothing but compliments to these guys! Delicious pasta no matter what flavour you pick! The portions are massive and I even end up eating till I feel sick 😂 or have two meals with one portion (girls don’t eat much do we 🤣). I’m a regular and I recommend them to anyone x

Ordered a carbonara and it was made at lightning pace and tasted perfect. Got profiteroles for a dessert and some charcuterie to begin and it was a perfect meal!

Ordered 2 dishes: 1)They are both not labelled so we don’t know which is which. They both taste the same! 2) Both were the same size when one paid £4 extra for a larger portion and also £2 extra for extra meat. 3) there was hardly any meat in the pasta at all even the one that paid an extra £6 for more meat and a bigger size 4) the pasta is not cooked properly! It is hard and cold 5) there is hardly any sauce in it 6) this order is disgusting and we will never use this place again!
