Spar Roe Lane Southport Merseyside is a complete shambles. They sell petrol as well as having a butchers and other small outlets. If you want to just pay for petrol you have to queue up with half a dozen other people doing their weekly shop. !!!!!!! The garage forecourt is also disorganised, cars trying to come out of parking spaces narrowly missing cars trying to pull up for petrol. By the time it was my turn to pay i was so stressed I gave the wrong petrol pump number and the assistant was so rude and rolled her eyes!!!! Will definitely think twice before I go here again !! For goodness sake get better organised and have one till for those of us who JUST WANT TO PAY FOR FUEL !!!!!!!

Spar Abbey Street deli is extremely expensive the portions are small and the staff take no pride or look like they care one bit. Terrible service and prices

Spar have really gone down hill every time I go in there knowing what I'd like for dinner they have never got what I'm looking for I thought it was maybe the covid that was causing the problem but no half the time its because they have decided to take it off the shelf just because I dont eat it every day doesn't mean I wouldn't want to buy it 😩

SPAR College Road Perry Barr (also a BP station) - Decided to pay for my petrol with cash, I had 2 £20 notes which I handed over and they insisted I gave them £30. They sent me CCTV of the till which by going through frame by frame you could clearly see 2 purple notes but they still denied it was £40. I even sent them screen grabs showing the notes and still refused to give me my money back. Will never use them again, fuming is an understatement!

Yet again another overcharge in Spar Parkgate!! Staff great n always get a refund but how often does this happen n customers don't notice?? As I said before, a lot of pensioners use this local shop n probably don't think to check n it's a case of every other time not a random mistake. Got a ‘to good to go bag’ from spar in Tavistock, Devon. It actually would have been cheaper to buy the contents separately!! Got 2 bacon bites &1 chicken slice. Paid £3.25 and it was supposed to be worth £10. Waiting on hearing back for a refund. Staff were pretty useless!

I have just tried spar slow cooked beef with root vegetable mash. Absolutely awful, every bit of beef was chewy, fatty and uneatable. To advertise it as slow cooked is extremely misleading. I obviously do not recommend.

An embarrassing situation occurred when I forgot my pin and my card was blocked, had to fill in a police report for non payment, however the lady was very friendly and helpful and didn’t make me feel like a criminal, lovely lady and great customer service!

I went into the Spar at Alderwood close this afternoon for the first time, but never will again, ever. As I approached the counter, the lady made eye contact with me, then walked off to join 3 other members of staff to deal with one customer. This customer was also being treated harshly imo, as we could hear them challenging the customers payment method. In this time, a queue had formed behind me and we were still ignored. At this point the customer behind me lost patience and called for service. Then, the same lady who had walked away from me returned, and said extremely curtly “ can’t you see we are serving a customer? “ So distracted was she, this lady didn’t even know who had spoken!! Not me! I have a few pointers for this lady. Smile and acknowledge ALL customers. Recognise that ALL customers are equally important. Don’t tell your customers off! Don’t shake your head in disapproval at your customers, it will never be acceptable. Worst customer service I have ever had, in 53 years! So angry was I when I left I threw my purchase in the bin, as I wished I had left it on the counter in the first place. Terrible experience, I will never shop there again and I hope this review gets taken seriously by Spar Customer service Team. Mr Ian Hughes.

The store on Watling Street Road Ribbleton Preston have Extortionate prices !!! Everything is double the price then any other similar outlets like Spar. Heron foods or Coop have reasonable and fair prices. Keep away absolute ripp offs !!!

This has happened on 2 occasions first time I went in store I was overcharged by over £2 but this time I have been robbed of £5.47 its the store in St Helens avenue Swansea staff are lovely but they dont check the till properly before taking payment the items I bought was reduced items that actually came to £15.23 but i was charged £5.47 more than what I should have been charged I forgot to ask for receipt at till as they dont ask if you want 1 if I did I would be back down there demanding my money lovely clean store lovely staff just not happy that my items wasnt scanned properly and i was overcharged

I telephoned Spar's Croydon Road Beckenham Branch, nr. Elmers End, Kent, 4:55 p.m., 25th. November, 2021, to ask if a particular item was carried by the branch. I asked the question, and an Indian man asked me to repeat myself: "Sorry ?", I heard. I asked the question again, ("Are you able to tell me, please, if a particular item is in stock ?"), and I heard "Ah's" and "Er's", and heard "I'll put you on to another Guy". This other Indian "Guy" took the 'phone, and I repeated the question: the nearest I can come to typing the 'reply' received, this time, is:-"gh!8fnif@?", which exasperated me to the point of replacing the receiver. That may or not mean that the item's in stock, but the reply as well as the sale was lost on me.

been using my local spar at Melton Mowbray for several years, they had been pretty good on the whole over the years, a few mistakes, but staff generally good. will not be using them again however. in six out of twelve visits I was charged more for items at the till,( usually a pound) than they were marked up as, sure, this happens, but not this often, I got fed up with it and complained to the manager, told him if it happened again I wouldn't be coming back. three visits later, I was short changed by a pound, so that was the final straw I cancelled my newspapers and that will be that, so many incidents cant be a coincidence, It makes you wonder if they think most people wont tot up the price in their head like I do, wont check their change like I do, don't notice, are too embarrassed to complain, or don't care, and the odd careful shopper like me are occupational hazards who are worth the risk because of the overall gain, I hope that's not the case. but they should be treating their loyal customers better. I urge anybody who shops there to check what they are paying.

5 out of the six items I bought I was over chaged for. I always add up as I go round in spars because they are nautorious for over charging. My £6.00 calcualtion came to nearly £10 at the till. Everytime I go in, i'm overcharged on something. Whats worse is that the staff think you are stupid, even though they are pricing things up wrong. They wanted to charge me £2.49 for these which are clearly stated as £1.00. When I went back to check weather I made a mistake she told me that the £1.00 offer wasnt on these particular ones, despite the £1.00 label being directly below the item and the item label being called the same as the product. Terrible terrible company.

The staff at Crumlin Spar are always very friendly and helpful.
