United States | 26 September 2023My journey to the ownership of a Chapter2 Koko started with a pursuit to find an affordable aero bike frameset with clearance for 32mm tires and without the ridiculously low and long geometry found on most race bikes. I also wanted a bike with an integrated cockpit that allowed for spacers above the stem, to allow for future fit adjustments as desired. The mana handlebar dimensions fit me well too with a short reach and a slight flare. The geometry has clearly been well thought through from Chapter2. I sent an enquiry through the website contact form with a few questions, and it was Mike the founder who answered and gave me confidence to go ahead with the purchase. The purchase experience was a little odd, but that may have been my desktop browser setup. I initially tried to purchase using the Chrome browser and that failed, but using the Safari browser worked. The experience was a little jarring as it also redirects you to a third party payment provider to complete the purchase, but I got there in the end and Mike confirmed the order. The frameset arrived to my door in Colorado in about a week’s time, and thankfully it had been shipped with care with no damage to the box. It was immediately apparent how pretty the paintwork and finishing is on both the frame and the handlebar. I ran into a small issue with the build process whereby the bottom bracket threads required a slight use of a tapping tool from a local bike shop. No biggie and easily solved. Everything else on the frame was excellent - disc brake caliper mounts, paintwork, the headset bearings fitted in well. The Chapter2 Koko rides very smoothly for an aero bike. Within a short space of time, I was descending confidently at speeds in excess of 50mph, riding fast pacelines and then some dirt roads too, and the bike handles everything quietly, without any fuss and without any creaks. The Koko is an excellent bike and there is probably only one thing I would change on it, and that is the seatpost binder that allows for the adjustable compliance. I found this not particularly intuitive to use and it is a little awkward - I would have preferred to lose the adjustability and instead have the simplicity of a more regular seatpost binding. I would absolutely recommend Chapter2 and would encourage anyone with questions to ask through their website.

United States | 12 September 2023I have been riding my Chapter 2 Rere for the last 2 years. The quality of the frame, fit and finish have been excellent. There are zero rock chips on the frame and the paint holds up really well. The paint job on the frame really stood out as people kept asking what it is as it has beautiful paint job instead of just black or gray or white color. I have many bikes that I own….a Mosiac RT1, 2015 Specialized S Work Venge and a Cinelli Strato. Chapter 2 Rere is the fastest bike out of the 4 and my Strava confirms that. In term of “feel” only my Mosiac RT1 feels livelier up the hill but the Rere is not far behind. And this is an aero bike! The bike is very responsive both on the flat and on the hill. The responsiveness of the frame is very similar to my Cinelli which is not surprised as both frames use Toray 700/800 carbon. It is also quite comfortable over long rides and the geometry is perfect for me. I had to replace the original set back seat post with zero set back seat post and also replace the original Mana1 bar (100mm/42cm) with Mana2 bar (100mm/40cm). I had local bike shop replace the handlebar and they ran into issue with the headset cap fitment. I contacted Chapter 2 and I was able to get my question answered within a day. And I was surprised that the person that helped me was Michael Pryde. The standout quality of Chapter 2 for me has to be customer service. I always got my questions answered within a day (and Michael was the one help me everytime!). And parts I ordered arrived within 3-4 days! Faster than parts I ordered locally! Overall I really enjoyed owning my chapter 2 Rere. It is a great riding bike, beautiful to look at, great fit and finish that back up with great customer service. I am sure if I consider buying another frame it will be another Chapter 2!

Hong Kong | 23 August 2023Love my new Rere! Appreciated how easy it was to work directly with the Chapter2 team to order the frame with the accessories I wanted. Very fast and low position on the bike. Handles very direct. Can’t wait to put more miles on it.

United States | 05 August 2023Super fast and helpful support throughout the shopping, buying and building phases. I went with a mechanical disc Campagnolo build on a gorgeous BLUE + CYAN (MOANA) TOA. Great communication and help throughout the whole process and the frame and bits were securely shipped. The bike is smooth, solid and responsive. If you're sick of Specialized, Giant, Trek, etc then you have three better options that'll be as nice (much nicer IMO) and you'll probably spend less money too; Chapter2, Time and Look.

France | 26 July 2023Many reviews have already commented on the wonderful performance of the range of Chapter 2 bikes; my review is for the service and superb assistance given by Mike Pryde and the team. I have a TERE and in reassembling the bike after flying with it (using a Neil Pryde bike box going strong still after 20 years) I realised I had lost a bolt for the Manna handlebars to the stem. After looking online and local bike shops and DIY stores I contacted the help page of Ch2 and Mike responded the same day promising to send a replacement bolt immediately, with me only paying postage. This great after-service compliments the attention given when I first bought the frame when I was building my bike with components purchased elsewhere. For anyone ordering online or from a bike store stocking Ch2, knowing that Mike and his team are still on hand to support is a unique additional advantage that other brands just do not offer. This alone is a reason to buy Chapter 2, ohh - and the bikes are pretty special too! I may be adding the AO gravel to my bike stable soon...

United States | 10 June 2023In august of 2022 I bought 2 Kokos. One for myself, and one for my adult son. I was hopeful after reading the reviews. I now have over 5,000 miles on my Koko, and in a word it is AWESOME. the compliance feature is a game changer. The Koko is an extremely stiff rocketship of a bike, with incredible power transfer, and extremely predictable steering. Usually the price for this would be comfort. Not with this bike, the unique seat binder provides just the right amount of compliance. You can pay more money, but you won't get more bike. Not to mention the customer service is a 10 out of 10. When I mistakenly cut my seatpost too short, They sent another one out in days.

India | 08 June 2023I purchased a Chapter 2 RERE Disc Tauhou (Silver-Yellow) frame after a lot of doubts, hesitance and not-so-helpful advice from my peers. I personally loved the frame, its color scheme and geometry but the cycling community around me adviced caution and encouraged me to go for a bike from the bigger brands. I wrote to Mike Pryde after browsing their website for quite a bit. He suggested me to follow my heart and highlighted the positives of the frame while also not criticising the other brands that I had mentioned over email. So I decided to follow my heart and got the frame in March. I have clocked close to 1000km as of today and thought it was a good idea now to tell the cycling community what a wonderful weapon the Rere is after riding it for a while. Firstly, apart from the branding, geometry and the color scheme, I picked the Rere over the Koko because I wanted adjustability and did not mind cables showing. The Rere ships with a reversible seatpost that I can swap at will to gain a TT/ Triathlon position with the saddle closer to the BB area. The frame was an upgrade from a Chinese brand bike that I was riding earlier. I could instantly notice the difference in terms of the power transfer and stiffness the frame had while also maintaining a comfortable ride. It has been a killer on the climbs and extremely nimble on the Chennai roads even though it has been built up with a modest Shimano 105 setup and basic carbon wheels. It really shines on rolling terrain and flat roads where its aero profiling give it a much-needed edge over other bikes. I absolutely love Chapter2 in terms of the support from the team who helped me with sizing. The frame itself stands apart from the rest and turns heads every time I ride. I feel elated every time I tell people about the wonderful guys from Aotearoa who made this happen. The opinion in India is that Chapter 2 frames are priced on the higher side compared to even the bigger brands and at the same time does not inspire confidence as not too many people ride them. The only option is to buy the frame and try for oneself the experience that Chapter 2 offers. That is something the company can try to work on if it seeks to make an inroad into the Indian market. However, if you like to stand out from the rest, are a sucker for bespoke things and want unmatched service in terms of warranty and replacement, Chapter2 bikes are worth looking at. Every now and then, they have a great deal running on their frames and if you've been eying one for a while, you should get one! Looking forward to seeing Chapter2 Bikes grow and serve a new generation of cyclists!

Canada | 30 May 2023I’ve had my TOA Aqua Blue for a few weeks now and I am absolutely thrilled with it. It handles amazing and the speed is effortless. I’ve been riding gravel bikes for the last 4 years and wanted something faster for road racing and longer club rides and events. I did a 70km road race the day after building the bike and it was flawless and comfortable! I also set a new PR for that distance. I decided on a TOA after lots of research and I’m happy with my decision, I wanted something unique, eye-catching and with superb build quality. I found all that and more with Chapter 2. I can’t say enough good things about my experience, from the purchase at my local shop, to the quick shipping and then the build.. everything was seamless. I’m happy with my choice of Ultegra Di2 for this build, I think it compliments the bike perfectly!

Australia | 22 May 2023I've ridden numerous bikes from Giant and Trek, decent Ultegra mechanical bikes. I've ridden top of the line, Specialised S-works and others, carbon everything. Plenty of nice machine's. For Chapter2 I've owned a Huru and now I have a new Toa. What can I say about Chapter2? It's a brand proposition about quality and unique products. All of the other bikes I've owned have been good, nothing wrong with them really. You probably wouldn't even know what you were missing out on with Chapter2! The Sales support and attention to detail with the build were excellent. My Huru was the best climbing bike I ever owned, it was truly a dream to ride this bike through France last year. What can I say about the new Toa? The Glossy black is absolutely gorgeous, the photos online do not do it justice. Stunning in person! I finally caved and went disc brakes with Di2, no complaints, wet weather handling is unbelievable. The Toa is a weapon on the descents, handles like no other bike I've owned, rock solid and stable. It's a monster on the flats, it just keeps on accelerating. It's probably a little stiffer than the Huru but it climbs almost as well, if not just as well. Overall I've equalled my climbing record's on the Toa compared to the Huru. Only caveat there would be the Huru was on 38mm wheels and Ultegra mechanical and the Toa is 50mm wheels and Dura-Ace Di-2. On the descent and flats I've broken all of my personal records. One thing that I will say is both Chapter2 bikes are mechanically spot on, no creaking bottom brackets like Giant or Trek. For some that might be reason enough to upgrade 😁

Sweden | 19 May 2023”I can tell you that this is such a good bike that I needed to buy 2 of the same model. Very impressed!” First race today with my second C2 Koko (white/gray) and this one have 1X and deeper rims. Very impressed with the speed and comfort. I also have an SL7 and that frameset is slightly more comfortable but it does not hold speed as well on the flats. Koko can definitely compete with the best. The paintwork is very special and the quality and details are flawless as expected BUT the frame is also a clear superbike when it comes to performence and that was more unexpected. I also have a black/gold C2 Koko and the setup is light with THM, Elite 50D wheels and DA9170. Weight ready to race with pedals 7.1 kg.

Spain | 11 May 2023I purchased a Chapter 2 Toa - here's my experience from purchase to riding : When I decided to purchase The Toa I had no idea what to expect from the company ? would the product be good ? would the customer support be there ?. Well I can confirm that it is ! from the initial conversations with Mark in the UK on sizing to component choices, right up to direct communication with the owner Mike, everything was superb which made buying this bike that little bit special. Even after receiving the frame which was damaged in transit by DHL the pair of them worked hard to ensure I had a replacement and that I was happy, which they should be congratulated on. Its customer service done the right way so kudos to you gentlemen !!. Now on to the frameset itself : When I received the frameset I was initially blown away by how beautiful the paint was (i have the aqua blue toa) and i was keen to see it built up. I used a trusted bike shop near me veloatelier to build the bike and they commented on the quality of the frames construction and internal cable routing which in their minds was done right. After collecting the bike the next step was to ride it ? I had come from a pure aero race bike so was keen to see if the Toa had the legs to be fast - Wow was I happy it was every bit as quick as my aero bike. Now I know that a bike is only as fast as the person on it but what really impressed me was when I attended my local clubs Tuesday night bash for the first time. Once you push the Toa hard it really shows its capabilities, it corners like its on rails and inspires confidence to keep putting more power through the pedals, but also supplies a level of ride comfort which made my aero bike seem harsh. I can honestly say that I am blown away by the bike, not only does it look a million dollars it also performs in every department. I would definitely recommend this bike 100% and also the company as I cannot fault anything - Well done Chapter 2 for producing a great product.

Japan | 04 April 2023Unfortunately currently I don't own any Chapter2 bike. I'm considering to buy a new bike then I tried TERE. It was fantastic and it is the best bike I've ever tried. Around BB is stiff enough and no energy loss, but seat stay is really soft then no vibration to my butt. Then it was really good at high speed cruising. There is one thing I wanna complain is there is no red frame. I've been waiting for a red TERE for some years.

United States | 04 April 2023I first saw a C2 in my local peloton. That’s where my journey began. Upon a thorough search of the road frame sets I decided the Toa was what I was looking for in my next build. The purchase was straightforward and smooth. The delivery and packaging was impressive to say the least. It’s been about 10 months of great rides and loving every mile on my Toa Moana😎

United States | 14 February 2023Chapter 2 has been a phenomenal company that has sponsored our cycling team, Cardinal Classic Cycling. I have now been riding my Chapter 2 TOA for 1 year and have nothing but good things to say. It's incredibly fast, responsive, and climbs well, truly an all around race bike. I've raced it in crits, time trials, and road races both flat and mountainous, and I've always felt confident and comfortable on the bike. I love the Mana bars not only because it looks so sick, but because it does give you an aerodynamic advantage, and at the pro level, every aero gain matters. I've ridden other bikes in the past that need every bearing regreased, screw tightened, and movement of parts fixed at the end of every race season. I took my C2 in for this routine overhaul at the end of last race season and there wasn't near the wear on everything like my other bikes because the bike is just honestly built superior to other brands. 100% recommend and looking forward to continue riding this machine!

Australia | 03 February 2023I was looking for something different as I had had a couple of the more well known brands when I came across an image of the RERE - awesome colour with the subtle New Zealand traditional markings. Mike advised me of correct sizing and when the frame set arrived in that special packaging I knew it was something special. Three years on I haven’t been able to ride it as much as I would like, but during the time I can it’s a dream - when I can’t ride it’s a great piece in the man cave. Top job Mike 🙏

Philippines | 02 February 2023I ride a Chapter2 Tere and it's a very dynamic and responsive frame. It allows you to build speed on flats and dances well when you need to pedal up on an incline even as a beginner. Very satisfied for choosing this frame.

United States | 02 February 2023When I was looking for a new road bike, I wanted something that was aero, stiff, light and comfortable. I came across Chapter2 Rere through a couple of highly flattering reviews on well known cycling websites. I purchased the Rere I wanted in the color I wanted (gloss black) with the help of Chapter2 founder, Michael Pryde, who happened to be manning the help desk that day. The bike has been everything I wanted and more. I’ve been road racing for over 25 years and my Rere is the fastest and stiffest road bike I have owned. Despite its advanced design and aero features, it is incredibly easy to maintain and service. In terms of aesthetics and performance it easily matches framesets costing twice as much. As important as the bike itself, Chapter2 customer service and support is second to none.

Netherlands | 02 February 2023C2 Koko...after 1 year, simply the best frameset I had. Because of my job, I could ride & test many and no discussion. Ridiculously comfortable for an aero frameset. Unique brand, unique paint, and cool background.

United States | 01 February 2023First off the bike is great. Got a Koko a few months back and have been loving it ever since. What's more of the customer service has been top-notch. Mike Pryde obviously takes pride in his work because he's the one answering the emails and providing direct customer responses. It made the online buying experience extremely confidence inspiring. He even took the time to follow up a month later to check in on the build. I've been recommending Chapter2 bikes to anybody who will listen.

Singapore | 21 January 2023Excellent bike! The AO is very comfortable and provide a very smooth ride on the road. It is a very fast, capable and comfortable bike that excels in both road and gravel terrain. GRX Di2 build was relatively easy with minimal problems. Finally, the paint job on the bike was impeccable! This bike turned so many heads when I ride it on the road.
