United Kingdom | 30 March 2022I am a landlord and have a property with them. Have to say their communication is really poor, which lead me out of pocket on several occasions. For example, I have landlord insurance that covers emergency repairs. Despite telling them that they should check with my insurance company in the event of an emergency, they still used their own contractors whom I had to pay. A more recent example: the tenants complained that there were no gardening tools and the garden bin was full when they moved in last year. I told Heywoods that I was happy to pay for the tools and get an empty bin. About a month ago after the periodic inspection, we found the garden was a mess. When asked, the tenants complained the same things again (no tools and bin full). It turns out the previous property manager (last year) was ill and no longer working there so didn't proceed. Seriously? When someone left your company, is it normal that no one would pick up the work? Due to the crazy inflation recently, the same £50 basic electric mower at Argos is now priced at £70. Of course, they still expect me to pay this increased price as a result of their fault. Then the bin. I told Heywoods I can pay to get an emptied bin, either by paying someone to do so or through the council's garden waste subscription. Whatever the method I only said I would pay to get an empty bin. Initially tenants tried the council's subscription, but were then told by the council that the existing bin was contaminated so a new bin was required. Then my instruction to Heywoods was that I can pay either (new bin or subscription) but not both since the whole issue was the bin being full at the start of the tenancy. To my surprise, Heywoods completely ignored my instruction and let tenants buy both a new bin AND subscription, and then told me the tenants expect the full cost to be refunded. Their poor communication had constantly led me to lose money. While this is not a large amount it is very frustrating and time-consuming (as you have to chase them and double-check with them if they understand) to deal with them.

United Kingdom | 23 August 2021Rang to arrange viewings for 3 separate properties in the last 2 weeks. Two of which apparently sold prior to me ringing. Even after 2 weeks of telling me over the phone it was sold; one of the listings still hasn't been marked Sold STC on Rightmove, Zoopla or even their own website. Waste of time. Clearly just to get their number of properties up so they look like a popular estate agent. The one viewing I did manage to get, I was greeted by somebody unable to answer a single question I had because they 'weren't from the office'. Definitely would not sell using this estate agent. Hate to imagine what actually buying a property is like when this is the service they provide when being paid to sell the house.

United Kingdom | 19 June 2018Unexpected delays in repair. Reported for damp, poor heating system, rusty water tank, overflow pipe, and issues with window handles. Next to nothing has been fixed yet. We regret our experience with Heywoods. Affected peace of our mind. Never again :(

United Kingdom | 01 November 2016We had a very protracted sale because 2 buyers dropped out,one at the very last minute. The Heywoods team at Newcastle under Lyme were quick to respond with more viewings from potential buyers and this proved successful. Their communication was excellent at all times and we were very happy with the service. We would recommend to anyone planning to move home either buying or selling.

United Kingdom | 28 October 2016Professional, easy to contact, and helpful in the extreme. I cannot rate Heywoods at Newcastle - u - Lyme highly enough. When I was undergoing a time of great emotional distress, Geoff and his team were there to help me through the process of selling my mother's bungalow. It would have been far more difficult for me without their support and advice.

United Kingdom | 27 October 2016After waiting 3 months for Butters John Bee to sell our house, we decided to give Heywoods a try. There was nothing to lose as they didn't tie us in like Butters did. Tricia at Heywoods was just brilliant, we had 3 viewers within the first 7 days and on day 10 we had an offer which we accepted. We put our house on the market because we had seen a house we wanted to buy so we needed a quick sale. We lost the house because we didn't sell quick enough. We wished that we had used Heywoods from the start. They made us feel that they were actually trying to sell it. Fortunately we did find another home and we are very happy. Thank you to Heywoods and Tricia in particular.

United Kingdom | 26 October 2016Will definitely use Heywood again. A colleague at work recommended Geoff at Heywood. I wish she had done so 2 years earlier. Superb Team and very professional. Obviously Market forces determines Speed of the overall process, but Heywood would definitely be my First Choice. Henry

United Kingdom | 23 August 2016We have used this company for buying and selling properties for over thirty years and cannot fault their overall quality. Geoff Gallimore offers an honest and considered appraisal based on many years of experience within the sector and invariably has a knack of correct valuations. In Kelly Pepper the company has a most sincere, professional and dedicated negotiator who has a great understanding of situations and awareness for her clients. We would never hesitate to recommend this agency to anyone considering putting a property on the market or for buying.

United Kingdom | 23 August 2016I have very recently decided to put my property on the market and was unsure which agent to use. I was aware that Heywoods were a reputable company and decided to ask them for a valuation. I also arranged another agent to value my property on the same day but they unfortunately let me down by cancelling the day before stating they did not have the time. In the end I did not miss the other agent. As it happened Heywoods provided an excellent service. Geoff was punctual and obviously had a wealth of knowledge of the area and demonstrated his vast experience through professionalism and a positive attitude towards house selling. I decided on the same day as the valuation to proceed with Heywoods. Within an hour or so of accepting Heywoods as my agent contracts had been drawn up, legal representation arranged and photographs had been taken. What made this all the more remarkable was that this was conducted during unsocial hours emphasizing the effort, dedication and efficiency of the staff towards their customers and their profession. Today my house was formally placed on the market and I have already escorted two prospective buyers around my property and hence I'm quite confident my house will be sold quickly with Heywoods.

United Kingdom | 22 August 2016We placed our house on the market in April and are now in the process of both selling and buying with Kelly's support. The service she has provided has been nothing short of exceptional throughout. She has been and remains an absolute pleasure to work with. Her manner is excellent, and the way she keeps us updated, acting proactively and always responding in a timely manner is without fault. A good example would be when we were in the period of not having received any offers. My past experience has been a suggestion of dropping the price, but we discussed in detail other options around incorporating different elements into the advert, an open house, reviewing website hits, amending photos and lots of other opportunities - which clearly worked. I cannot speak highly enough of Kelly and feel that she deserves to be recognized for this. She has definitely made the fee excellent value for money. Well done Kelly!
