United Kingdom | 02 October 2020I ask them to recover a £12K debt. They charged me an upfront fee of £1,194 incl. VAT. Then an additional charge for legal fees. No evidence of any legal proceedings were shown to me. I think this was a fraud. No money was recovery and the only communication from them was to claim the 'annual' fee. They tried a whole bunch of threats to try and force me to pay them more money. I refused. They stopped contacting me. Their website claims they are having problems with their phone system. This has been on their website for at least two years. They never pick up the phone. Never any updates. I'm amazed they are still in business. I'm thinking there must be other mugs like me giving them money. Please don't use this company, it worst than a waste of money!!

United Kingdom | 24 April 2019I can't believe it is legal what they are doing! Collected part of the money over two years ago, deducted almost 50% commision from us saying that we authorised it (which we didn't and they have admitted!) Now they say they can't recover any more from the debtor because it's been too long and he's not responding to letters. This is daylight robbery do not use under any circumstances!

United Kingdom | 05 October 2018After almost two years of chasing no money even I know they recovered some. Staff who deals with your case is always “off sick” or “left the company” and everythis goes in circles. Would rate -5 if I could.

United Kingdom | 04 October 2018Avoid this cold unprofessional company! Cold call offering service. Decided to give them a chance. Disappointing poor standard of customer service. Contacted Managing Directors office by email 08/2017, no reply to date. Portal problems not addressed. Most annoyed when staff continuously comment that we paid ONLY £25 for them to take on case. Extremely concerned by the unprofessionalism of staff at all levels, they’re very unhelpful. At one point I spoke to a manager about making a complaint. He replied “We’re not John Lewis. Your complaint won’t go anywhere!” From what I have now read about the company Director, I can understand why his staff are so ignorant. They are seriously Lacking good Leadership and should be micro monitored by Trading Standards and the FCA.

United Kingdom | 21 September 2018This Company should not be allowed to trade and perhaps a joint action needs to be taken by all others who have simply been duped. We shall proceed through the county court against them however we suspect we will only be joining a long list of others who are in a similar position. Have they a license and does anyone know of a governing body that can be involved ? Do not use this Company, use the fee they charge against the debt owed its the only good result you may get.

United Kingdom | 15 October 2017My brother had a fax from these guys in April 2015 saying they can collect his debt, my brother being naive agreed and paid them the upfront fee. The original debt was just over £1000, with their fee they were trying to collect nearly £1800, since may 2015 they have collected £650. I have spoken to the debt collector Vince i believe who is actually quite friendly and advised they debtor had so many ccjs no point trying to get anymore so email finance to get what they have collected. I emailed finance and no response after 1 month so phoned up to find out why.....omg I spoke to the most vile man on earth, so rude screamed at me and put the phone down, I was shaken up and have never had anyone speak to me like that when i was asking a simple question as to where was our money It has been 4 months since I emailed them and gone past the 90 days notice they asked for so am going down legal route, refuse to be treated in this way. Any help would be gratefully appreciated on how to proceed.

United Kingdom | 09 October 2017I have had a claim going through since May 2016, the debtor paid his last payment in July 2017. I have called and emailed multiple times requesting my money or at least to find out when it will be paid to me. I called a month ago and they said it would be 90 days after the last payment had been paid which was the beginning of this week, no payment has been made. I have just called and spoken to Tim Adams, he was the rudest person I have ever had the misfortune to speak too. I simply said that I was told that I should have been paid last week, to which he said there is "No Way, you couldn't have been given that information" I asked if he could tell me when I would be paid and he shouted "I don't know". I asked if there was anybody I could talk to that would know and he said "No" he then said "I remember you from Friday, you called and told me to pi55 off and I put the phone down on you" I told him that I didn't do that and he huffed and puffed like a child. My husband saw I was getting upset and took the phone, when my husband spoke, Tim said "Who are you?, What's it got to do with you? we were both shocked and he said "are you done?" I then hung up and called another number and spoke to a guy that calmly told me, that I should receive payment 90 days after the last payment from the debtor, but it may be taking longer depending on how it was paid. So Tim, this is what I was told a month ago, and 90 days is last week!!! This is all I wanted to know, I didn't deserve to be spoken to so badly and accused of swearing. Tim Adams is the manager at Guardian Recovery, he has a disgusting manner and I hope I never speak to him again. I feel sorry for anybody who works with him, as a manager, if he is what his collegues are meant to aspire to, they should run.

United Kingdom | 27 September 2017Avoid. I was a debtor to an electrician. GuardRec contacted me and I agreed to pay £2000. I Paid it on October 2016. 18 months later Guard Rec have not passed any of it to the person I owed the money to. When I asked them where my money is they told me to stick it up my bottom using swear words and hung up on me. The person I owed the money to has called them over 20 times and they keep giving excuses and have still not paid. They have kept all the money and given nothing to the electrician. So he looses out. Read the Google reviews. they are all correct. If you are a debtor, do not pay them. If you are a contractor, find another debt collector because even if they recover your debt they will not pay it to you. Trading Standards & FCA involved now. Reported to Action Fraud and Watchdog. Final Note, All positive reviews are on the same day 5th July 2017. Go figure.

United Kingdom | 24 August 2017I would give them zero stars if I could the service they have given me has been absolutely rubbish. they could talk the talk when getting me to pay for their service but have failed to get any of my money back to me. They have zero customer service, premium cost to ring them, will only talk to you at certain times ...only on certain day at a certain time wont accept calls at any other time... no one is ever there that can give you any information on what is going on. I paid them to recover a debt for me in October 2016 they promised me they would get my outstanding debt recovered by following Christmas ....nearly a year and a half later and nothing !! sick of trying to ring them DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY They did not provide me the service that they said they would ... they did the minimum and when that failed to get my money back they did no more ...if the debtor says they wont pay there is no evidence of follow up they just leave it there and keep their fee. They have promised me repeatedly that they will contact me and explain what is going on and I am still waiting.

United Kingdom | 29 July 2017What can I say than what has already been said. It has been a nightmare since the debt was recovered. Spoke to numerous staff who gave every excuse under the sun, why I haven't received my money yet. I really thought I was getting somewhere when I was contacted the managers PA, who said they didn't know why I wasn't paid out and was getting on to it. She has now gone silent cannot get hold of her. Also some another from Customer Services, a Manager emailed me to say payment will be made. Again nothing. They always say a cheque will be paid. Any decent company will pay by BACs immediately. We are now going down small claims court. We are also contacting the credit card company for the card we used for their initial payment and getting that back. Credit card company have advised that I can do this. Anyone else in my situation I advise you do the same. This company needs to be closed down. Court action taking place now, and yet they still deny everything, this just speaks volumes about this company, shame on you all.
