I’ve been with CAP this amazing brilliant company for three years now. I feel as though I am recovering my former self and self esteem. I am a lot more confident than when I started out. I answer the phone and door now without any fear whatsoever. Actually, what’s beautiful, is that my debt coach arranged for someone to phone me weekly and encourage me. I was also invited to many functions but were unable to make them. What worked great for me, was having the meals delivered once a week. I made friends with those people on my doorstep (during lockdown 😁😃❤️). My coach would also advocate on my behalf when I couldn’t, and she understands me. I am so looking forward to be able to visit some of these wonderful people at their church setting; and to thank them all in person, as well as my original debt advisor coach, who sends me regular texts and updates. She sends me prompts etc and has enabled me, after a long haul, to be able to get my confidence up and connect better. Thanks to the entire CAP Team, I love you all. May God forever bless you and this amazing company, that blessed all and has no prejudices xxx❤️xxx

I am now debt free thanks to CAP . The hardest part was picking up the phone and making that first phone call. All the hard work was taken out my hands, I no longer have to avoid phonecalls from banks or avoid opening mail. It has been such a relief to admit my problem and get such kind professional help from CAP.

A company a highly recommend for help. They are good people trying to make a difference and have helped me climb out of a very deep hole. Not just with debt but as it is the year 2020 mental health hasn't been the strongest and before the pandemic I lost hope on people until CAP helped in every way possible. Making sure I've eaten and have food. Making sure I'm mentally ok, making sure I have gas an electric and making sure I have people to talk to as I live alone. These things arent just a job description they dont have to ask you this but they do and that just shows why they have given me hope. My advice for people not doing their part to help themselves is... you may feel at some points its all too much to carry on or you may feel cap nag too much but just remember how you felt before you asked them for the help be grateful and thankful such a service is even available to you and remember you can do it especially if you let cap help you. P.s I only found out about cap this year through the growth hub and both services have helped so much together if you need help ask away...

CAP came for first visit and I was expecting a total lecture and telling off. I was wrong. They were caring and very good listeners. The lady who looked after me was so encouraging and supportive, they changed my life. I Thank God I contacted them. If you are worried and overwhelmed pick up the phone and ring CAP. They can help and bless you too.

If you are in debt whether its a little or in our case a lot, then turn to CAP for help. The clue is in the title, where Christian volunteers and staff alike will support you every step on the way, whether in person on on the phone. From your first meeting they explain the process in great detail. They are realistic, supportive emotionally and spiritually. We are now free from our £23,000 debt and we couldn't have done it without them. Our coaches are now good friends. Make sure you go here first it won't cost you a penny and you will not only become debt free but you will learn valuable financial lessons.

CAP are amazing! I'm in lots of debt and they helped me by being the middle person between me and my debtors. They put in place affordable payments which not only pay my debts with an agreed amount, but save some money too. It's a long road ahead but I have the support from CAP now. Just a phone call away if I need help. Thank you CAP all your staff are a huge blessing.

I have always been expected, by myself mostly, to practice what I preach in my job as a coach and also as a mother to two amazing young women! However, in recent years - life has gotten a bit "sucky" and I've struggled with my mental and physical health. Rising debt from an unsuccessful marriage had added to that. For many years, I swam like a swan; all calm on top and paddling like fury underneath! Then through a new friendship with a Christian lady, I found Christians Against Poverty. I made contact with Freddie; my debt coach and immediately I had a feeling of my worries subsiding and the water being made calm - allowing me to swim more easily. Freddie and a support worker (who I am now friends with) came round, and within minutes I was sharing stories of my life and almost bawling my eyes out! They didn't judge, they just listened and told me it would all be okay. We went through my debts, and all the relevant paperwork. Freddie just took it all away, and said CAP would sort it out; writing to my creditors and getting me the best "deal" possible to manage my finances and clear my debts. I also attended the CAP Money Course run by Freddie and his wife, Angela. It provided such an insight into how to manage my money better; which in itself, took a weight off my shoulders. I know how to use Excel spreadsheets; except when it come to doing something for me! I've now opened a savings account, a cash account, and can manage my current bank account much more easily. I've managed to save for Christmas, and birthdays whilst still paying my debt balance off. I shall be proud to stand up and say "I am debt free!" on 1st January 2021. I couldn't have come to this point without CAP, Freddie, Angela and everyone else who has been supportive. I have also decided to try and find Jesus again and bring him into my heart; I had not been to church for over 10 years. Now when I read scripture, or take part in online worship; I feel a sense of calm, love and peace. My biggest thank you to everyone at CAP; those local and not so local at HQ. THANK YOU!!!

My experience with CAP is absolutely amazing, they helped me before with my debts and now i am learning to stick to a budget and organize my finances. I feel deeply grateful as their advice and support, apart from being so kind and empathetic, makes me rethink, explore, reflect and take effective actions towards healthy finances. I feel more in control and organized, much less stress, more content, more free and feeling supported by Earth Angels to learn more about money, budgeting and financial abundance. God bless you always. Thank you ever so much. Regards,

After leaving my marriage after 20 years With unknown debts that had been taken out in my name, I found life incredibly hard. I couldn’t pay my debts and struggled to pay my household bills and put food on the table doing so. After a bad experience with a Large well known debt Management company where I was just a number to them, I turned to CAP. The best decision of my life. I had someone who came to my house and truly cared, I had people who knew my name and I knew them. They gave me financial advice, and they devised a plan that was right for me, that would work and also allow me to live. There were even many times that food parcels were delivered just when I needed them. 2 years later I am well on my way to clearing all my debts, my credit score is rising and life is generally so very much better. If you need help financially, my only advice is to pick up the phone and speak to CAP, you won’t regret it.

As a family of seven after moving nearly 300 miles to try and get a better lifestyle for our children we hit a few bad patches that were out of our control at times we felt alone and no where to turn to for help in getting out of this bad situation of constant barrage of phone calls, letters, texts, people turning up at the door harassment etc until we came across Christians against poverty who helped us through this every step of the way even though we are no longer using their services directly and are now in our bankruptcy period they are still in contact with us helping us out with parcels and making sure we are doing fine. We highly recommend them to anyone in need can't thank them enough for their help

Absolutely amazing company that helped me through every single step of the way. The were sincere and seemed they genuinely cared about the position I was in. They would always give clear and amazing advice. Going beyond their call of duty to help and support me in order to take any stress or worries I had. Extremely professional all the time and would always take the time to listen fully to any concerns I had. I would highly recommend.

I would like to take this opportunity to explain why I’m giving CAP 5 stars, this is my story I wasn’t in debt before, I only fell into it when my son left school at the age of 16 He was unemployed and I only had my part time wage and working tax credits, he was still unemployed at the age of 18 I received a letter from the council just after Christmas advising me that there had been a mistake calculating my housing benefit and that I owed them 2yrs full rent and council tax and that they would be backdating till when my son left school, so in a matter of weeks I had went from no debt to 6,000 I was distraught how was I going to be able to pay it back, I went to citizens advice for help but after 3 hrs we still couldn’t work out what had happened, I also spoke with a welfare rights officer who advised me to get a lawyer as I was on the verge of losing my home, but he didn’t want to represent me as I was on working tax credits, I truly was at a lose and didn’t know who to turn to, I felt there was no hope. That’s when I got introduced to Colin Richards from CAP, I had never heard of CAP before but I was willing to give them a try anyway, Colin came out to my home and reassured me right from the start that this mess could be fixed, he took away all my paperwork that I couldn’t make head nor tail of and went through it with a fine tooth comb, he promised that there was a solution and gave me hope that there was light at the end of this dark tunnel I was in. My mental health was suffering badly, I became withdrawn, couldn’t hold a conversation because my mind was in a fog trying to work out how to deal with this situation, I wasn’t sleeping, wasn’t eating properly couldn’t focus and felt very depressed about the future, I was alienating myself from my social circles because I couldn’t afford to socialise, even travelling to work was a worry, where was I going to find bus fares, I was paying back £50 to my rent arrears as well as full rent and council tax, then they arrested my wages of £80 as well, I was at my lowest point and was left with £25 a week to live on I couldn’t believe that this was happening to me, my life couldn’t get any harder. Once CAP became involved my life started to turn around, Colin assured me that they would deal with any correspondence from the council and any phone calls that I got from them, he told me to give them CAPs phone number and that they would speak on my behalf, they organised food banks to be delivered and supported me anyway they could, from dealing with my debtors to listening to me when I got frustrated and was losing hope. I finally saw the light at the end of that dark tunnel and went debt free in June 2018 and thanks to CAP I finally have my life back, I don’t just exist anymore, I can actually have a life, one where I don’t have the fear of debt weighing me down anymore, I can sleep at night and I have food in my cupboards, I am in such a better place in my self, and knowing that I have came through the storm and there was a rainbow waiting for me. To anyone out there who is suffering like I was, don’t try and do this by yourself please get in contact with CAP they truly will give you all the help and support you’ll need to get through it and be able to have a life again, it’ll be the best decision you’ll make Christina Campbell

I am 43 year old male and had got myself into a fair amount of debt, as a result my mental health declined and i became a lot more anxious and depressed as i didnt know what to do. I found out about CAP and contacted them reluctantly and left my details. A man named Colin gave me a call back and we arranged to meet at my house. He explained everything to me and i felt a weight lifting as i knew i now had someone to help me with this. I was worried at first but Colin knows his stuff and always answered all my question or any concerns i had, everything explained in detail every step of the way. I am now debt free and wouldnt/couldnt have done it without Colins help. I would also add i sometimes struggle meeting people but was always put at ease and never judged for mental health problems. Anyone struggling with debt please dont hesitate, Cap will be with you every step of the way. CAP (Christians Against Poverty) Robbie
