Fantastic business. My Toyota Vellfire had a really cheap and nasty; badly installed head-unit. Lots of wires removed, new parts fitted from stock, and expertly fitted. End result is a fully integrated system from Pioneer. I now have wireless Android Auto. So glad I chose Audio Boffins. Going back soon for a matching sub.

Got told to use this company by a work colleague. Peterborough I thought - no way! That's a nightmare to get to from where I live! Anyway, drove down there. Straightaway thought these know their stuff. Gavin listened and understood my requirements, ideas and budget. Basically, update my 2003 Mondeo Estate with full sound proofing, new double DIN head unit (when he said Pioneer I thought great - still a company I've heard of 30 years after buying my first head unit. A sub but not an 18" (I'm 30 years older now). Just looking for a NICE sound! Drove home and within a few days and looking at the options they sent me, I'd ordered everything I needed. It all arrived and I was overwhelmed by the amount of wires and components to do the job properly. No oldskool twisting wires with this rig. Gavin soon answered all the questions though. Then that Moneo dies so it became a 2007 Mondeo Estate - different Ford head unit (well a Sony actually) and the dash centre console is different. No issue, Audio Boffins just sent me the other harness and a fascia conversion kit. Got to admit this part frustrated me but that's because aftermarket kits will never be 100%. They calmly answered the questions that I showed them in the Whatsapp videos. Like they said, they do this day in day out - I don't. After a couple of tweaks all was good. Due to the poor weather and waiting for my seats the project to a lot longer than planned (hey, don't they all). I tested fitted everything and again sent videos to just double check things. During testing I noticed the screen flickering with the car lights on. Gavin said he would check everything out when the car comes down to them. Finally, it was time to make the 4 hour round trip again (my partner drove her car) to leave it with them for the Subwoofer build. I left the car with them while I went on holiday as the fumes from the fibreglass bespoke enclosure would stink the car out if fitted straightaway. I gave Gavin my requirements and wishes with the sub also - to go under the Estate's pull over curtain and have access to the rear light panel. The plan was for a 10" but there was enough enclosure volume for a 12" so they fitted that. As for the flickering basically we've concluded that it's a FORD thing and maybe the speedo cluster is producing a funky signal when the backlight changes on the mileage display. We had two options spend hours/days trying to figure it out or just stop the auto-dimming function on the head unit. Given on these older cars the head unit is actually next to the gear knob and the car isn't worth £30k, we decided the screen, not auto dimming at night wasn't an issue. I then drove down for a third time (my partner drove me down there - I did buy breakfast (the café on the industrial estate does a lovely breakfast muffin and cup of tea) plus got her a Starbucks to say thank you). The guys at Audi Boffins had tuned the system to perfection! It just sounds perfect. I've kept my promise of only taking it to 40% (actually only need it at 20-30%) for 50 hours. Would I use them again and make all those trips again - YES I would and shall. My Hatchback 2004 Mondeo now needs something else and there's only one place I'm going - and that's AUDIO BOFFINS. I've already sound deadened it and fitted the same 4 HERTZ door speakers. I want to keep the original SONY stereo this time and want to hear the V6 engine but let's see what they come up with...

What a great service by Gavin and his crew at Audio Boffins. I am totally confused by technology and when our VW head unit played up we decided to go with a new unit, however the software was an issue with our phones (or us) so we decided to get the old head unit fixed. Gavin was very accommodating with numerous questions, resets of phones and units. Needless to say I would 100% recommend Audio Boffins to the technically incompetent.

Went to Gavin to get my modified headlights wired to my ignition instead of always on wired to the battery. Got it installed very quickly and even added a fuse to the wire as a safety measure . I returned a couple weeks later for him to install and wire my underglow lighting and he done an amazing job with that too, I even have a button fitted to a blanking slot that he installed that looks original. Will definitely use him for other wiring/electrical work for my cars in the future

I found Audio Boffins from a Google search, from the first call and conversation with Gavin I could tell how passionate and knowledgeable he is about sound and audio, he gave me non judgmental advice and suggested three suitable options to upgrade my amplifier without any pressure to buy the product or service. From experience, don’t underestimate someone who knows about audio. There are many people who claim to know how to install and set up a system but don’t know what they are doing when it comes to wiring and tuning to correctly create and separate the hi’s, mids & lows. The price and duration I got quoted was accurate, it was a very clean install with good placement of the amplifier. Communication was second to none, before during & after the installation. I was kept updated before and throughout the process, I’m looking forward to having future business with Gavin.
