As per the review before me the same has happened to my 91 yr old mother. SkyQ is due for installation at flat that already has Sky+HD so the cables are clearly in situ. Today ABS demanded £135 payment before installation. My mother was confused so they called my wife as I was at work. My wife not aware that installation is free, paid the money. I have spent 3 hrs on to Sky trying to get a refund. They do not understand why the charge was made and even doubt the engineer was bona fide. He was from ABS as the Facilities Manager at the accommodation site checked his credentials as he was onsite to install a new communal dish anyway. ABS said as he was on site it would save a visit to install the SkyQ today. Now the money has been paid he is due back tomorrow. I will be chasing for my refund. They should never have demanded it.

SKY outsourced my TV installation to Applied Broadcast Systems a few weeks ago. I received a call from Emily King shortly after and she asked me to pay £125 in case the wiring from the communal SKY dish to my flat was not there and explained very clearly that the money would be refunded if the wiring was in place already. I was not present when the engineer came but my building Manager said that my flat was already wired-in. The engineer's report says "cable traced and run to Q box supplied". Three weeks later I am still waiting for my money to be refunded despite long calls to ABS an SKY who both agree the £125 was charged in error. Not a company that SKY or ayone else should be having dealings with ; poor service that is verging on the criminal.

ABS own the satellite and cable system at my elderly father-in-law's retirement home. In Aug21 he received an invoice for £120 for the next 12 month period. He has signed no agreement with ABS. I emailed and then phoned asking for a copy of their customer agreement, but was told this was confidential with the property owners so I couldn't have a copy. They then wrote to my father-in-law threatening to unplug his TV if he did not pay up, he is 86 and largely home bound so is very dependent on his TV. I emailed ABS again, a member of staff phoned me but only talked over me when all I wanted was a copy of the agreement between ABS and my father-in-law. I emailed their chief exec: richard at applied dash broadcast dot co dot uk but no reply from him. ABS only want the money and appear to have no interest in providing any meaningful customer service.

What a fabulous company. My mum, who is in her 80’s, is push button happy with her remote controllers and keeps messing up the settings. Having rang this company three times in less than two weeks, they have been amazing. Extremely patient and very clear and concise when giving instruction we have managed to get things back on track. I can’t thank them enough

Their rep visited a block of flats where my elderly mother lived. Said her recception was poor because TV was of her "fairly ancient" TV. He fiddled with it, said there was reception on few channels. Told her she needed a new TV and left her unable to watch TV until I came some weeks later and retuned TV. Clealy didn't know what he was doing. Another company came later, changed communal ariel and solved problem for her and other residents. "ancient" tv is good quality and other company I trust, had recommended keeping it and still working well. And for anyone interested, it's now Feb 2024 and "ancient TV" still working!
