United Kingdom | 22 February 2025I originally purchased a Smart Care Plus shower from AKW in 2020. The shower was great and I had no issues until last year when I started having some problems. I contacted their technical team, and as the shower was still in warranty they quickly arranged one of their engineers to come out and inspect the shower. The engineer that came out was really helpful, and he swapped the shower there and then and I've had no issues since. The shower I have now is a newer version and seems to be even better than the last one I had. Overall I'm really pleased with both the product and the level of aftercare I received, as both the technical team and the engineer were really helpful.

United Kingdom | 18 February 2025I had a council grant wet room installed 2 years ago. The first issue was the shower was luke warm and had to be replaced. A year later it was discovered thatvtge pump has leaked and saturated the wall. Now the water is not draining away and AKW want £180 upfront just to come out! Most of the people who have this equipment are disabled and the level of aftercare is appalling. How many of us can afford £180? I can't! The shower pressure has never been great and the temperature fluctuates but I've put up with that but having to mop the pool of water up every time I shower is not good as I have mobility problems and have to be supported when standing. Reading the reviews I see I'm not the only one! I am now trapped as I can't fork out that money and I'm complaining to the council to make them aware.

United Kingdom | 19 July 2024My mother had a bathroom renovation for a wet room by the council & contractors who used all AKW products. The toilet has broken 6 times in 1-2 years, 5 times being the flush mechanic and once the water filler (Layman's terms). The manufacturer AKW came out to repair it 4 of those times because of warranty. It also splashes feces and urine out of the bowl when flushed, terrible design.

United Kingdom | 07 April 2024The shower is awful , I have bad arthritis especially in shoulders and the water pressure of this shower makes it impossible to have shower without pain I have long curly hair and to rinse shampoo out is absolutely horrendous, i get 4litres of water per minute and was told I should be getting 10 Litres. After enquiring to technical department was told it was adequate for me. Well no it's not , I don't like Luke warm showers and just because I'm disabled why is someone choosing how hot I can have a shower. I'm female and when it comes to washing private area the shower just dribbles down leg .. it is awful . I had mine through a disabled grant and when I tried to say it leaves me in pain,,, I was told to buy my own shower or deal with it. IV searched and searched and asked advice and keep being told for a 9.5kw shower it should be 10 litres per minute. This company .is disgusting and no way takes disabled people's views or opinions We just need adequate apparently

United Kingdom | 24 February 2024Absolutely shocking shower! Apparently “top of the range” smart care plus! It’s useless mayaswell stand out in the rain for how much pressure it produces!

United Kingdom | 20 February 2024I had an AKW iTherm shower fitted by my bathroom fitter. First use was 26th Jan 2024. The shower behaved erratically for the next few weeks and we eventually had AKW attend on 12th Feb 2024 to replace the unit. One week later and the shower has developed a fault. I am now waiting for AKW to come out and replace this second unit. AKW give a 5 year warranty and so I will update this review as and when needed between now and 2029 ! Update 1 : AKW replaced my original unit on the 12th Feb 2024 with a brand new unit. This lasted until the 19th Feb 2024 when it developed exactly the same fault as the original. AKW attended again on the 21st Feb 2024 and 'repaired' the unit in situ by changing/adjusting a dip switch within the unit. On the 26th Feb 2024 the shower started to behave erratically again barely a week after it was 'repaired'. I now await another engineer visit to replace the whole unit ! Update 2 : AKW replaced the second unit with another unit on 28th Feb 2024. On the 10th March 2024 this third unit seems to be behaving in exactly the same way!! Update Jul 2024: Despite several visits from AKW and multiple 'swap outs' of units, the issues persisted. I subsequently got my bathroom fitter to remove the AKW unit and replace it with a Mira shower which has worked flawlessly ever since.

United Kingdom | 12 February 2024DO NOT BUY AN AKW SHOWER CARE PLUS!!! Just had one installed and it's the worst shower I've ever had! Water pressure is shocking, I'd of been as well going and standing outside when it's drizzling rain. Completely and utterly rubbish and I'll add, that was it on full power as well! These showers are meant to be for disabled/vulnerable/elderly customers but just because you come under one of those categories doesn't mean you want no pressure in your shower if anything you want your shower to have excellent pressure! Would not waste your money! It's a pity you have to give any stars at all for a review, because believe me I'd give this -5* if I could.

United Kingdom | 22 November 2023Simply ONE STAR as I am not able to offer anything lower. Firstly the customer service of the Quality Dept is dreadful basically dismissive in their attitude unlike the Customer Support Service who on first approach understood the Customers predicament, however unfortunately ended there and unable to assist any further. Considering their size and range of products a very poor company and why they should be even considered if purchasing their products. From my experience they have done nothing to assist or enhance this customers experience when an issued occurred with their equipment. Evidently with the reviews of this Company they appear to have little idea that many customers use Trustpilot as a reference source where consumers measure whether they can trust the brand before purchase no matter how small or big their company is. Consumers are more moderate when interaction occurs where you can turn a customer into a loyal customer through communication. However reading other reviews on Trust pilot this company do not wish to engage in the practice of responding to its customers views individually, evident by the omission of Company response from poor star ratings If customers have a positive experience with a company, they will share this experience with friends, family and connections - which in turn can lead to new business. All at zero cost. Unfortunately it would appear AKW have a total disregard wether this experienced is shared or not and I think it is right to call out an Organisation on line such as this when it fails to own up to poor standards or are unwilling to make up or make good the lack of quality in their products.

United Kingdom | 19 November 2023I purchased a AKW Onyx fold up shower seat in December 2019. The specification said it had a lifetime guarantee. The seat as devloped a crack which pinches your buttucks when you sit on it. Unable to get any response from the company. Eventhough I was initially happy with the product there doesn't appear to be any customer support after the product is purchased. Contacted them on 7 October and despite several emails no response. I would not recommend them.

United Kingdom | 15 November 2023Unfortunately the lowest score possible is one star which is more than that AKW shower pump deserves nothing but problems numerous problems the latest is the flow sensor which was replaced 2 months ago. Don't waste your money.

United Kingdom | 02 November 2023Shower began to fail after 4 years. Very small spare part to fix, AKW are asking £17 delivery!. Outrageous.

United Kingdom | 22 June 2023Technical support team (aftercare) absolutely horrendous. "Engineer" turned up at 16:00 to repair our shower pump. We already knew the problem was the flow sensor. He told us that mind blowing piece of information AGAIN, then left without repairing. No explanation, still waiting for a call back from the "manager" of the department. Had to get a Plumber to sort it out as AKW are clearly not capable.

United Kingdom | 13 April 2023Just had a bathroom refit with the local council. They have fitted a AKW Shower. If only I had known before what make they were going to install I could have checked it out.Totally useless ! Just because were old does not meen we like warm showers with no presure. I like a Hot shower that has water presure. I have complained to the council but not having much luck. It will be removed at my expence and a proper shower installed.

United Kingdom | 22 November 2022Had an AKW electric shower less than 3 years fitted by the council to replace an old 16 year old electric Triton shower that was faultless until the day it died. I've had to had engineers attend several times this year due to it turning itself off and not back on. Over the past 2 weeks it has struggled to heat above 30 degrees, engineer attended today and replaced the shower. Shocked build quality, would not recommend to anyone!

United Kingdom | 29 October 2022We have an entire house fitted out with AKW kitchen, walk-in shower room, disabled toilets etc and have always been pleased with the quality of the items, however I have just had to order a very small plastic hinge for the base of their shower screen which is priced at £15.05 (pricey to say the least) and then to add insult they charged £20.40 for postage. This is just ripping people off especially when you think that these items are for disabled people. Would I install AKW in the future, probably not

United Kingdom | 17 October 2022Had one of of their showers fitted in a wet room by a housing association. We really wanted to choose and pay for our own shower and was initially told it would be OK. So we bought a Mira shower and had it there ready for the engineer and he refused to fit it. And even said "this one is better anyway, it has a digital display" so he obviously took us for morons. But anyway this no-name shower who I had to google it's so obscure is diabolical. Looks cheap, the digital display means nothing...what is "38". At least have a 1-10 scale. Pressure is weak and it's not hot enough.

United Kingdom | 31 August 2022Had 1 fitted in 2018 from a disabled grant it wont hold temperature and pressure drops. Called AKW they said they dont sell parts for these and have to buy a new one costing over £550. Utter disgrace as these showers are made for disabled people. Guess they are made to break down after a few uses to rip off the vulnerable. Dont waste your time on these rubbish cheaply made waste of spaces
