Gates & posts are great, however when you order gate & posts you would expect them to be treated as you buy them to go into the ground, it seems that’s not what Wortley Brothers do. I ordered 2 gate post 200 x 200mm at 2.4meters long arrived untreated. When I phoned told that I needed to request that on my order, but they could supply something to paint them with, told by my installer not worth doing you might as well put them in untreated as post need to be pressure treated to allow the preservatives to go into the wood. Now been out and purchased 2 more posts as I can protect the gates once they are up. Don’t fall into the trap I did.

We ordered a single gate, double gate and garage doors along with ironmongery products. All items were top quality and considering they are made to measure delivery was quick.

Excellent quality gate from Wortley Brothers, very robust and heavy, not your cheap feathered gate which you could kick in. Customer service second to none. I accidentally forgot to order the second gate stop, and they are going to send me one free of charge, in the same colour as my gate. Highly reccomended.

A superbly made gate, very solid and heavy will look amazing on my new build. My only niggle hence only 4 stars. It wasn’t packaged or wrapped well enough for transit. It arrived with dents and scrapes and a 4” split on one of the bottom planks. As I intended to finish the gate myself it isn’t a major issue but it needed glueing and clamping and an extra sanding down to remove the damage. After all the care and attention gone into making it, it was a shame I received it this way.
