United Kingdom | 13 January 2021After completing their comprehensive cover the only problem I faced is a very troubling childhood battle with depression over 20 years ago. In spirit of being honest I wrote my medical problems on the form and was rejected insurance on grounds of Mental Health. Never was I asked how recent this occurred!!! Talk about a level of discrimination on basis of Mental Heath! That was over 20 years ago! I have a solid career, happy life and I run 40miles a week, am a trained dietician and don’t drink or smoke. I am disgusted at this sheer discrimination! Try being penalised for not being able to cope well at age 15-18 over a childhood trauma and now unable to ensure I am insured to cover my families needs incase of any loss. Absolutely terrible!

I went through the online quote process a few times and stalled because I didn't have to hand some information they wanted. Even though I subsequently took out a policy, I received a follow-up call from customer service for each of the "incomplete" quotes that I did. Even though I had a policy, under the same details, they were trying to court my business for the policy I'd just bought. Honestly made me regret having taken it a bit. Like they couldn't see that I had taken out a policy?
