About Planet Beauty

When Planet Beauty opened in sunny Newport Beach, California in 1992, we didn’t agree with the definition of a beauty retailer. Rows of little beauty counters crowded inside busy department stores surrounded by mazes of packed parking lots…mega-mall monotony. This was not our definition of beauty. So, we decided to create a curated beauty haven in convenient neighborhood locations. We provided professional beauty brands as well as trending products and innovative newcomers. We developed a structured educational program to ensure the best and the brightest beauty advisors in our stores. And we decided we were going to have our own definition of beauty. And for over 25 years, we’ve done just that. 37 locations and a successful website later, we deliver more than just the best in makeup, skincare, haircare, styling tools, bath and fragrance. We redefined what beauty means to us, and most importantly, to you.

The conditioner was sold at a VERY competitive price, was shipped quickly and arrived quickly. They also took the time during shipping to make sure that the pump did not open and waste product in the box during shipping.

Good prices for products, however, the discount/sale code does not work. They are closed on the weekends so I was unable to contact customer service.

Terrible customer service. The elderly woman at the counter was incredibly rude. I realized I purchased the wrong shade of sunscreen online, and immediately went back into the store to exchange it shortly after picking it up. She had previously , just minutes before, told me that I didn’t need a receipt to exchange it, just the confirmation email with the order number. I walked back into the store after realizing it’s the wrong shade, with my order #. She proceeds to tell me my order is not in her system, which made no sense because she had my order in her system when she first handed me the sunscreen. She said she could not exchange it. She spoke over me the entire time, was very condescending, and told me they had a new system and she didn’t know how it worked. She said “ well, I don’t know what to tell you.” I asked her what she would like me to do. She eventually just grabbed the correct shade and handed it to me. I said thank you and left. May I suggest a customer service training, as well as additional training for how the new system works? That is not an appropriate way to treat customers. First and last time I set foot in this planet beauty.

I think for me the reason why I gave it three stars is because there’s so many different prices on the same exact product across three different platforms because if you shop on the app, you get a certain price if you shop online, you get a certain prize if you shop through PayPal, you get a certain price it would just be nice if it was consistent across the board Because it took me a really long time to figure out which was the best price.
