I rang Davidson Morris to find the answers to a few general questions regarding the Biometric Residence Permit. Since it is virtually impossible to speak to a human being at the Home Office, coupled with the fact that the process of obtaining a BRP is confusing (to say the least!), I was bewildered at what steps to take. Ms Emma Northcott came back to me within an hour of leaving my details with the helpful receptionist and answered my general enquires with great patience and expertise. Ms Northcott explained the process simply and clearly and let me know of my options. I highly recommend Ms Northcott, and my dealings with Davidson Morris have been excellent.

If I could award 8 stars, I would. I had contact with Davidson Morris 8 years ago when they helped a friend of mine navigate a very complicated and lengthy passport application for UK citizenship from a Tanzanian national that had gone wrong and not only resurrected the application, but this person now has full UK citizenship. Within my business, we were attempting to apply for a work permit for a Chemical Engineer from Canada and my (very capable) assistant read every page of the Home Office web-site as she had logged on to the Home Office system and assembled the documentation as per the guidelines. Thankfully, before we submitted the application ourselves, she encouraged me to consult an immigration specialist to conduct a final check. I called a number of companies and was less than impressed by the responses. I recalled the application that was put forward for my Tanzanian friend and sought out the contact detais and I contacted DavidsonMorris. Their information on the initial call was constructive and I was immediately confident that this company knew the licence system. We originally paid for DM to review the paperwork and, at this stage, we were in for a shock as we had not fully appreciated the fine print which the Home Office website had not highlighted to us. Our candidate's visa was expiring on 10 January and in a panic on 29 on November we instructed DavidsonMorris to fully complete the application A-Z. The team were amazing at dealing with our queries and assisting us to collate the additional documents and our application was submitted electronically on 6 December – literally 7 days after we instructed them! We were extremely worried as we could not afford to lose this amazing candidate which had taken us ages to recruit.
