United States | 17 November 2023Horrible experience! Price was tripled on the day of the move and they did not move everything that was on the quote. Mover was a bully knowing we had no choice on the day of the move! Kim in customer service told me we would not get a refund if we cancelled and was extremely rude! This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had as a consumer. We also had to spend another 600 dollars to rent a truck as the movers did not arrive in a full size moving van expecting to move us. It also took 2 extra days to move us 350 miles.

United States | 11 November 2023What didn't go wrong. They sent us the most shady criminal company to move our items. On the day they showed up to pick our stuff up they doubled our quote. Many of our boxes never showed up. They will either steal or lose a lot of your stuff. The items that do show up will, more than likely, be damaged. It was a little conspicuous that the boxes they lost contained important financial and personal documents as well as cremation ashes that are unrecoverable. They are also, obviously, in bed with the claims company they will send you to, which is as big of a scam as the moving company themselves. If you are into hiring scam artists and criminals to move your stuff, by all means, pick these guys. If anyone else who has been screwed by these guys wants to jump in on my lawsuit against them, let me know. They need to be shut down.

United States | 08 November 2023They are just brokers and would take their profit in the start. After that they don't care what happens with your move and you need to struggle with the third party

United States | 31 October 2023Too bad there is t a zero rating! Tried to cancel after hiring them. Proposal had cancellation policy but contract did not( small print). Then they offered me 200$ back and withdrew that after I tried to contest the whole charge! Gave them more than a week notice! They were rude and wouldn’t back down. No wonder there reviews are terrible! I didn’t even have them move anything and saw how terrible they were! Good luck if you use them! Try somebody else that stands behind good busy practices!

United States | 29 October 2023Absolute scammer. Unprofessional and would suggest avoiding at all cost. Had a contract clearly stating the items to move my 82 year old mother 30 minutes away. They write things up in cubic feet as if we are supposed to quantify that. Showed up and tried to hold us hostage to pony up another 2200 dollars over the estimated $2000. We told them to hit the bricks. Now we have to fight to get our deposit back. Genovani and Jimmy are unethical and immoral.

United States | 18 October 2023If there was possibility of rating less than one star I would. Just calling in for a quote is awful. If this is a highly rated moving company there should be no need to be rude and hustle talk people to make the decision on that call…I run a business in the service industry and one of the most fundamental thing is to be kind to potential customers. It’s a big no for me :(

United States | 12 October 2023Terrible service. Now I know why they changed their name. Sales/customer service seems good at first, but you will be underquoted and told the cost is double once the movers pack your items. I used their packing service and multiple items have been ruined and now I need to spend time filing a claim via tedious process. Once the movers are there and try to get more money from you, and no one will pick up the phone from sales or customer service. You will go to the beginning of queue and then be sent back. They completely ignore you. It took 4 weeks to get my items and the movers showed up with a literal semi-truck 18-wheeler (for a studio move) and told me I had no choice but to pick a Sunday window when they called the day before. Cannot stress enough to avoid this company. It's not a total scam (as you will get your stuff), but it's essentially a scam. The movers they use are extremely unprofessional. This is my second cross-country move I've gone through and the previous I used was a completely different experience. Avoid at all costs.

United States | 12 October 2023Short version: We contracted a move from NY to PA 2 months before the move date. They inquired about # of rooms, furniture, etc. They gave us a quote which we signed off on. The day the movers came they DOUBLED the PRICE without ever checking the inventory provided. Detailed Version: I did a lot of online research before selecting a company and Amerisafe had very good reviews, so we decided to go with them. We contacted them approximately 2 months before the move and during the time up to the move things seemed to go smoothly. During an initial call they inquired about the # of rooms, # of bedrooms, about items in each room, large pieces of furniture, glass pieces (tabletops, shelving, etc.), area rugs, etc. We were quoted a price, which we accepted and signed. In addition, we were told Customer Service would call closer to the move date to see if there were any significant changes to the inventory - there were not. The day the movers (apparently locally contracted company named US Moving Enterprises) came, the "clipboard guy" came in, looked around, never checked against the inventory we provided and DOUBLED THE PRICE!!! We went back and forth with him but basically there was nothing we could do. It was either pay it or he would leave without moving the furniture. I called Amerisafe and the Customer Support person I spoke with was sympathetic but didn't do anything. It was just finger-pointing. Later i the day, the "clipboard guy" said the move would actually need another truck and that would be more money!!!! He offered to do it at a "better price" if I contracted that part of the move through him. So, he was trying to cut-out Amerisafe now. I said "No" to another truck. About 5:00 PM I told him he needed to finish up because the building had a 5:00 cut-off on moving in/out which we informed them of earlier in the week. He 1st said, "No one told him that." Then back pedaled and said "Well, we must have told a new person." The next day as they moved us in it was a similar situation - trying to nickel and dime where ever they could but my wife didn't fall for it. BTW, the actual men who moved the furniture were professional and polite. No complaints with them.

United States | 10 October 2023Don't know where my stuff is, they lie and lie, total scam. Save yourself the headache, do not use this company.

United States | 09 October 2023I wish 0 stars was an option. Never again. Biggest scam. I paid to have MOVERS move my stuff and they showed up with 1 person so now I have to help them. It costs an arm and a leg (the total bill was 3x what was quoted because they didn't include mattress, TV stand, and basic items.)

United States | 17 September 2023Worst experience ever. Literally use anyone else.

United States | 16 September 2023This was moving day! The three men that arrived to pack and move my belongings were from Vanguard. They were seemingly professional and conscientious. However, I was informed that they could not move all of my belongings unless I paid an additional $10,000 - the truck was too small and my estimate was inaccurate. I had been quoted $15,000, then it increased to $18,000, and now it would be $28,000. When I called Amerisafe Customer Service, I was told that the phone estimate, “although the computer program is very accurate, is just an estimate and is expected to increase when a visual estimate is done THE DAY OF The MOVE”. I declined and instructed the movers to take what they could, focusing on the furniture. About 1/3 of the furniture was taken and, as usual, most of the boxes that I had packed were able to be stacked on top. My estimate included assistance with packing and the provision of packing supplies. I had already packed probably 150 boxes or more, and because they didn’t take everything, they really didn’t need to pack much at all (maybe five boxes). They were supposed to bring assorted boxes - small (30), medium (30), large (30), garment (16), mirror, and painting (20). I was charged for these boxes and their packing services - over $3000! They brought no boxes or supplies and packed, what little they packed, using supplies that they found in my garage. I found out that they had not brought any boxes with them when I inquired about getting the unused boxes or getting a refund for unused supplies before they left. The foreman shrugged and told me to talk to Amerisafe. However, when the movers were asked about this by their supervisor, they said that they went out and bought more boxes. They had a 26’ truck that was in the process of being loaded and I didn’t see another car or evidence of the arrival of boxes. No clothing was taken and no artwork was taken so none of these specialty boxes were used. And…if they filled the 90 other boxes I would have noticed. The movers arrived at approximately 1130 and were done before 1800 - and they did eat stuff from my kitchen and leave many water bottles and pop cans on the garage floor and shelves. Talking to Customer Service with Amerisafe has been unsatisfactory, both yesterday and today. And…it seems that Vanguard is not any more trustworthy than Amerisafe! Do yourself a big favor, and say “HELL NO”!

United States | 16 September 2023This company is a very well thought out scam. Stay far away. They grossly under quote to get people to commit to using them, and then take a large deposit. When they arrive they will significantly raise the price and bully you into signing something because you have no other options. Then they will make you wait WEEKS to deliver your things.

Brian
United States | 07 September 2023If I could leave 0 stars I would. Was given an estimate which was no where close to accurate. Moved less stuff than what I estimated. The contracted company(cobra van lines) even worse than Amerisafe. Took 3 weeks over the estimated time of arrival. Just horrible! I wouldnt trust them to move a folding chair!

United States | 06 September 2023Amerisafe took my 89 year old mothers money when she was trying to move to be closer to her only family out East. They are crooks of the worst kind. They appear to be legitimate, but hire dirty contractors to do a foul job . Call and ask for Kyle . If you aren’t placated, he will have you talk to his supervisor Tim. Avoid this company at all costs

United States | 28 August 2023The agent on the phone was trying to push me to book a moving date without a quote. He gave me a $3000 to $6000 dollar estimate but refused to do a more detailed estimate until I booked a day. Became condescending when I mentioned that I still needed to contact a few other movers to see who offered the best overall package; timeline, price, and how many men would be available for the loading and unloading. Wanted to continually tell me that they were top rated and berate me for suggesting that I needed to also call a movers local to me that does interstate moving services. I never actually received a more detailed estimate because they push to book the move before they would give me a price, which I refused to do.

United States | 26 August 2023Sent THEM packing. Showed up with a little budget rental truck after I put 50% down on an estimate of $5,300. The 3 nice gentlemen that showed up were about 120 lbs. a piece. No offense but it would’ve taken all 3 of them to lift my dining room. Said they would have to get another truck that was an additional $2,500 that would have to be paid upfront. Not how I do business.

United States | 19 August 20231. The packing is thoughtless. They dumped random things together causing them to get damaged. For example - one box contained creams/lotions, undergarments, important documents and a work of art. This was all thrown into a box together and transported across the country during summer heat. 2. One box contained most of the glasses, mugs, cups. Another box contained a hard kitchen skillet and one delicate whiskey glass that must have been forgotten. It was very precariously packaged given it's proximity to the skillet and therefore damaged. 3. Two mugs were damaged that unfortunately held personal significance ( son made them when he was 4 years old) and they have been previously transported to two separate houses since we have been moving every couple years. 4. There was a waste of packaging material. There was a box that contained an empty laundry basket. The basket was not filled with anything other than useless packaging paper. Considering that this company charges for materials, packaging like this is a ripoff. 5. They broke my son's desk. We had to repair it completely. 6. They broke a shelf within a dresser that was purchased less than a year ago. We have not yet finished unpacking, but this "full service packing" is NOT worth the money.

United States | 19 August 2023I was initially quoted $7k for the move. They also made it sound like it was a "full service move" which included packing. As the sale rep put it, I just have to open the doors for the movers once they get here and they'll pack and do everything. I was also told that if they needed 2 days to pack my stuff, they would use those 2 days to pack. Come moving day, they jacked the priced to to nearly $16k and that the packing service required some work on my end, which I was not aware of. Nevertheless, they packed everything and moved my stuff. When I finally received my stuff about 10 days later, some medium boxes were packed full of paper and only contained a few cups. The packing was also very disorganized with various items mixed in and ended up breaking a few pieces of furniture and some mugs as well. If I could give them 0 stars, I would. Such a shadey company. They were National Moving Service at first and now they're Amerisafe?

United States | 14 August 2023I was very satisfied with their service. Helped me to move out of my home quickly. Would recommend to others!
