When I decided that the new hotel and increased costs were not for me, I was refused a refund. Under the Consumer Act Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008. Here’s how: 1. Right to Clear and Transparent Information (Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008): Under these regulations, businesses are required to provide clear, accurate, and upfront information to consumers before they make a purchase. This includes providing terms and conditions that are easy to access and understand. If the terms and conditions are not presented before or at the time of purchase, but only revealed afterward, it could be considered a misleading or unfair commercial practice. The regulations require businesses to make sure that consumers are fully informed about key terms, including any additional costs, restrictions, or obligations tied to the product or service. If these terms were hidden or unclear until after you made the purchase, this could be seen as a misleading act under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations. 2. Right to Fairness in Contract Terms (Section 62 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015): This section deals with unfair contract terms. If you were not given the opportunity to review clear terms and conditions before the purchase, and these terms later turn out to be unfair or unexpected, it may be a violation of your rights. For example, if the contract imposes hidden fees, restrictions, or conditions that were not made clear until after purchase, this could be deemed as unfair and possibly unenforceable under the Act. Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires that all contract terms must be fair, and businesses should ensure that consumers have the opportunity to understand them before entering into a contract. 3. Right to Goods/Services as Expected (Section 11): This section states that goods and services should meet the expectations created by the seller's description or any representation made to the consumer. If the unclear terms lead to a service or product that doesn't meet your expectations or differs from what was advertised, this right may also be violated. 4. Right to Cancel (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013): If the terms and conditions weren't provided upfront, and you were unable to fully understand them before completing the purchase, you might also be entitled to cancel the contract under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. This regulation applies to distance selling and requires that the consumer is given the opportunity to review clear terms and cancel if they are unhappy with the purchase, usually within 14 days. I was not fully informed of the terms until you took my money from me I just want my money back
