After my is published, Rushmore cut contact with me. I emailed, I called, no answer. Never received a penny from them. I don't hear from them anymore. Writers, stay away.

Rushmore press has published my book 2 years ago and has marketed my book for sale world wide, yet I have NOT RECIEVED ANY ROYALITIES TO DATE! THEY HAVE STOLEN MY BOOK, MY SALES, AND MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH A PUBLISHER THAT CHARGED THIS CANADIAN DOUBLE THE COST TO PUT 3 COMPLETED FILES TOGETHER FOR MY BOOK! Good day, Is Rushmore Press still in operation? I have not been able to contact Rushmore Press by phone or email. Rushmore Press has not responded to my request for updates on my book sales. Can someone from Rushmore Press contact me concerning book sales as soon as possible? They fooled me that they are a real publishing company. NO! This is a vanity press: a huge fee and very little true market value. I KNOW I'm still listed as an author, but it's a one-year deal that is far too bloated with promises and very little business value. Avoid at all possibilities!

I talked with 11 other Rushmore authors this week. Same story. No royalties are being paid. Zero. Contract says quarterly payments. I’ve been asking them to stop selling my book for 8 months but it’s still being offered on Amazon and dozens of other sites. I’ll get into it with a bunch of you on the blog. They are crooks. I could not be more dissatisfied with my Rushmore experience. It took about a year longer than expected for them to get my book published (and that is after I had published with Authorhouse which was a better experience but Rushmore promised me more royalties!). So far, one year later, I have received NOTHING...no royalties, no communication except someone from Rushmore trying to sell me another "deal". like an ad in the New York Times?? Nope. I am very disappointed. The time frame was horrible and I paid out my money and my end of things and I really wish I could see something in return...because I know a lot of people contacting me that they bought my book!

Thrilled to be associated with Rushmore Press…wish there were much more publishers with this kind of dedication love and simplicity in approach…so easy to work with. Nothing but love extended. Bless.

I completed the Experience Survey previously and my computer apparently jumped it ahead?? Briefly again, this is my first experience with Rushmore and It has been a Pleasant and Professional experience!! To continue where PC jumped ahead, Super Kudos to Beth Oliver, my project coordinator!! She is Tops; Professional, Knowledgeable, Constructive and a Pleasure to work with!!! I have experienced several publishing agencies thru 12 documentaries and novels, to this point, Rushmore has exceeded All Expectations!!! Hope this goes thru and the previous I wrote as Well!!

When publishing your book with Rushmore Press, you are assigned a Project Manager and I'm writing to say that the Project Manager for my book, Beth Oliver, is doing a great job. I particularly appreciate her help in working out the book cover (front and back) through several revisions of the cover text and the cover art. She has been efficient, patient and effective in accepting my revisions, forming a bridge between me and and the book design artist, and helping us all arrive at what I feel is an excellent final cover. I'm confident that with Beth Oliver as Project Manager, my book is in excellent hands as it moves through the final phases of production to publication.

We got off to a very shaky start and I had many doubts about how this was going to turn out, however after the bumpy road turned into smooth pavement, Beth has been pretty good to work with. It's still early in the process, but seeing the book cover [front and back], I knew this would be something special. Whomever it was who did the artwork on the cover, captured the very essence of my entire journey. I had always envisioned a darker cover, but when I saw the white cover, it is exactly the way it should be. Whoever you are, thank you for your attention to detail! And to Beth, thank you for guiding me through this very new arena.

Creating the cover have been a good experience they were fast

As a "work-in-process" rating...the folks at Rushmore have just (ahead of schedule) upgraded 70 pieces of art covering two children's books and the results (as promised) are better than the original art that was provided. They have also been open to (and completed) adjustments/requests on cover art, fonts, and other design details (I request them, and they make them). Impressive so far - really looking forward to the finished product!

Hello! My name is Shamane Howe. I had to move forward with a copyright infringement on Rushmore Press and I am now being threatened with them doing a bogus press release saying that they have emails that they sent my edited video when they first made it. That’s not the video I am wanting. They are trying to keep my trailer that I paid for, for some reason. I have submitted evidence to the BBB and to Amazon and couple other companies to put them on notice about this company. I would like to send TrustPilot several emails of them giving me their word that they would send me my video and that they owed me nothing. Although I never received royalties. Please do your research on this company. Now this guy is emailing me saying that my email is troubling and that TrustPilot is going to drop me for extortion!!! I don’t know what these people are on but it’s not good! I find that hard to believe because TODAY was the first day that you’re able to admit that I am still owed! At least that’s what all our back and forth emails are saying. I am also taking this seriously enough to make a police report because I really don’t know what your company is capable of. You just said that I was trying to extort you. That I am spamming and lying! All are false! Please unless you’re sending my video or my money STOP Contacting me. Please go through your Attorney. Also my mother has been dead! She died years ago! She couldn’t have given permission from the grave nor pay for anything! She was on assistance and only made $700 a month so I guess that’s a another LIE he’s trying to claim as real and a insult! Defamation. How Professional! Then he is saying that I am refusing my royalties but I have countless emails and Complaints to the BBB and TrustPilot saying that I want my money! He never stated that I refused the money until today!! All the other 99 times I emailed them or filed a complaint he told them that I had already been paid! Today you asked for my check account! If you sent it before where did you send it? I sure don’t have it! I asked him to send me how much did I make in total including what he considers his cut and he called that extortion!! Another thing what kind of company keeps sending emails at 11:17pm to argue instead of fixing the problem by sending me my video! Rushmore Press! That’s who! He keeps saying that I have issues… only because I am not allowing him to bamboozle me anymore! If anyone wants to any of our emails please leave me a message. Update 2/10/2026 I found out today that Rushmore Press is still selling my book on Amazon! It’s not a third party seller.,. How is that possible when I am no longer with them?! This company is a scam! They are taking Authors books and money!the copy of my cancellation agreement to @Trustpilot @BBB and @Amazon

I recently became apart of the Rushmore Press family (less than four months) and thus far, I am extremely pleased with their performance. The customer service is outstanding. Both Michael Yang and Beth Oliver are kind, very professional and knowledgeable. They listen to my concerns, provided feedback, guidance and suggestions. They respond within a timely manner to my emails and phone calls. The creation of my book cover is outstanding! The cover designer captured my thoughts and ideas amazingly. Great Work! I am extremely happy with this company (thus far). I am looking forward to the final release of this first project and a long successful future with more to come as a member of the Rushmore family. I strongly recommend this company if you are searching for a company who truly cares about you as a customer and one that will work hard to treat you as a family member.
