Canada | 02 April 2020This is an absolutely terrible company after five years of paying I still owe over $15,000 which is completely ridiculous I called them to end my contract as I am selling my house I had to go to the Better Business Bureau because they would not deal with me or call me back on the phone and all they could say is they were going to get rid of the penalties for me buying it out early which was a big whoop because it was $500 but still telling me I have to pay 14,500 for five year old equipment then telling me to stick the buyers of the house with that ridiculous amount of money still owing on all the equipment like really how do these people stay in business The person that comes to the door lies to your face to try to sucker you into buying from these people they are 100% a scam save yourself the hassle just buy from your local companies selling you’ll get a better deal and A lot less of a headache!!! Canada | 04 February 2020Jan 17 I had my rental furnace quit working. Since it was currently -38 Centigrade that day I was pretty concerned on when their technician was coming to service the furnace. I called 3 times that day...even asking who provided the service in my town. They refused to tell me who was coming...and when asked to talk to a manager I was refused again. They just kept telling me I was put on a 24 hour service notice....when it's -38 outside...I was not a happy person. 25 hours later I called SG to tell them I got my furnace going by calling another furnace company. After many calls and many days..I finally got to talk to a manager on January 30. When I said I was unhappy and would like to end service with SG I was told another manager would call me. Feb 3 I was informed that for all my time and trouble I would be reimbursed by 1 month free rent. I am now debating whether its worth getting a lawyer involved.

Canada | 01 February 2020This company employs unethical technicians and sales people. They rely on high pressure and do not explain usurious contracts and terms. I had a rental hot water tank, their technician said that the tank was past it's life span and needed to be replaced immediately. I had a phone call at that same time from a sales rep that said they would replace tank the next day but that I had to sign a contract which he emailed to me WITHOUT EXPLAINING THE SIGNIFICANT CHANGE IN TERMS! My hot water tank was a RENTAL at approx $18 per month and they were trying to have me sign a RENT TO OWN contract for appox $40 per month and a term of 15 years!!!! Total cost approx $7200. If I was to sell my home the new buyer would have to agree to such a ridiculous contract or I would have to buy out any remaining time on the 15 years!!! I had the tank replaced by another rental company at approx $15 per month and the technician from that company informed me the tank just needed a replacement part and DID NOT need to be replaced. I had the tank removed as I did not want any further association with SIMPLY GREEN AND SANDPIPER. BEWARE PEOPLE!!! These contracts are not what they seem! Do not let this company through your front door!!! This company preys on Elderly and the Vulnerable! After I had the tank replaced and removed by another company and with the permission of Sandpiper, their company was calling me to arrange for a repair as they were now saying that it simply needed a valve replacement!!! So at first they are pressuring me to replace the water tank saying it was leaking and trying to get me to sign a lease to own (remember the original tank was just a rental) and then they were calling me to have a simple repair. This company is a SCAM, STAY AWAY!

Canada | 21 January 2020If I could rate 0 stars I would. Had my water heater installed incorrectly and it took them over 6 months to fix after calling and I still have issues with it after 3 years. Numerous calls and service requests ignored. Managers are no better to deal with. When inquiring about dealing with someone higher up president CEO etc... or a number or address to send a letter was denied numerous times until finally was given the complaint email address. Did I mention that went ignored until I called company numerous times. No one at the company seems to know what the hell they are doing besides being taught how to ignore customers. Also I would recommend hiring people who can speak English as a first language. Many times dealing with reps and they do not speak English very well. I would go as far as saying very poor basic English skills and an accent so thick you cant understand. I am all for giving people a chance but you need to be able to understand your reps. I am currently awaiting a service technician to come and fix our water heater. This time it only took them 2 weeks to return my call to book an appointment. Let's see if the technician actually comes and then will actually fix it. They have been given detailed information as to the issue ahead of time so no reason why it cannot be fixed today. My belief in this company stands at a below 0 on all aspects. Update on service call: technician never showed and I had to call company back. Asked if tech's dont call if they are behind or cant make it but apparently it doesnt matter to them. New service request made for tomorrow. Will they show? The service request was due to water heater not working and the last 2 weeks we were having -40 weather so pipes were obstructed with ice because installed incorrectly. We also had a water leak due to shotty installation and the pipes not installed properly but clearly that doesnt matter to them.

United States | 14 December 2019Tankless water heater leaking last week and parts are on backorder with no ETA! Replacement parts are in California. Don't they have Fed Ex/ UPS in California?? Service department is in the dark. Brutal service! Part came 1 week later and now all is well.

Canada | 06 April 2019Do not trust this company! They called my to book an appointment to check my softener. Their technician did not show up and nobody even called me although I moved my appointments to get this service. In two weeks they called to book it again. They did not know about previous appointments which has failed. Technician came and said that my softener does not work and he will send a technician to fix it. I was waiting for 2 weeks and called to follow up. Again they did not have any notes on the file and nobody booked any repair for us. I would not recommend this company!

Canada | 28 March 2019DO NOT EVER DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY! They called to come inspect my hot water tank which we had been renting from OCHS. The salesman proceeded to demonstrate how the water in the tank was turning black by doing a test in a glass of water with two probes set in it. I agreed to replace it with a tankless water heater. After installation the technician informed me that the furnace was dangerous and they would call Enbridge to cut off my gas! It was November, very cold, I had a sick 18-month old grandson fussing in my arms and could not be without heat. I told him my furnace had been inspected the previous month and I was told everything was fine. Well, if I didn't get a new furnace the gas would be shut off. No sooner did he leave than the salesman was at my door...was he waiting around the corner for their pre-arranged plan to force me to get a new furnace??? I told him that the inspection done the previous month didn't find anything wrong with the furnace. I told him I didn't appreciate the pressure tactic. But he kept insisting that he would call Enbridge to cut off my gas. Thinking of my sick grandson and my 91-year old father I reluctantly agreed. He told me about a rebate for both the water heater and the furnace and that they would handle all the paperwork...never happened. Gave me two months free but continued charging rental for my old hot water heater...which turned out that they now owned OCHS but I had never been notified of the change. The salesman told me that if, at any time, I changed my mind they would remove the equipment and I could go with whatever company I chose to get new equipment...again not true. The salesman also put in a Heap filter with I though came with the furnace. No at all...separate from the furnace at an exorbitant price. I had an electronic filter on my furnace and was perfectly happy with it. I have no pets and I don't smoke so I really did not need it. I finally bought out the equipment at an exorbitant amount; after paying their buyout, and dealing with the Better Business Bureau, they still wanted more money saying a mistake had been made in calculating the buyout price!!! At that point I told them I would be speaking with my lawyer...that changed their mind immediately and closed my account.

Canada | 23 January 2019I would recommend caution when dealing with simply green. They called in order to do service on my rental hot water heater as they took over from home comfort. It was really a sales call & wanted me to replace my 11 yr old gas furnace. I was told $90/mo x 15 mo term & that the max price increase was 3.5% over the term. Not true - 3.5% per year max x 15yr is not reasonable. Neither is a 15 yr term. Purchase a home with a rental at the 10 yr mark, and you would be locked in for 5 more years with old equipment at a premium price ? In such a case my offer would be reduced because of this. Dont know what it is about this industry - the door to door selling is now illegal but the sales tactics are the same ....

Canada | 19 October 2018I'm happy I've decided to upgrade my heating system with this company. They did a great job. My old furnace was replaced in no time. The installers were very friendly and neat. Highly recommended!

Canada | 24 March 2018I was looking for a new furnace to ease the mind of my 80+ year old mother who I had moved into my house. We checked out a few places in town, but I was trying to find a company that would allow a monthly payment plan as money was tight, and the only company in town that was willing was one I didn't trust. Simply Green showed up at my door, the salesperson was friendly and answered all my questions with the right answers. We agreed to a 7 year contract with yearly maintenance and 24/7 service if anything went wrong. She went over the contract with me and I believed I had signed a contract that was what we had discussed. Nope. I had signed a 15 year rental agreement with a buyout that was going to cost me thousands of dollars more than the equipment would ever be worth! Add to that the fact that the furnace didn't last a month before it had an issue, and they did not show up for TWO WEEKS!! When they did, they used a local furnace repair company who proceeded to give them FOUR RED TAGS for faulty installation. Move ahead a few years, and the furnace is acting up again. Again, a local company is sent to deal with the issue, and he too discovers that there are red tag issues, although he doesn't report them, but gives them 30 days to fix the issue (this was in January). They sent him back to replace the pipes that were not up to code, and he had to rip out part of my rec room ceiling to move the pipes!! I had had enough and decided to buy out the contract early rather than wait the 7 years, except to my shock, it was 15 years and it was with a financial company that I HAD NEVER AGREED TO BE CONNECTED TO!!! I tried using the Better Business Bureau but they are limited to their ability to get a disreputable company to deal honestly with its customers. I am not using my MPP to get a solution that doesn't have me paying thousands more than the equipment is ever going to be worth. I want a fair buyout for the furnace and water heater that shows that this company is trying to become an HONEST furnace company and not just a flash in the pan scam. So, if you are looking for a new furnace, water heater or air conditioner, run from Simply Green...as fast as you can. They can talk the talk, but everything they say will be lies.

Canada | 07 February 20181 year and half ago we sign a contract with Simply Green for them to install the air conditioning, they supposed to change the filter 2 times at years, they said that are going to send the filters and I still paying monthly and I haven’t seen those filters since then.

Canada | 21 August 2017The sales person was not truthfull at all. I was told I was buying a furnace for $7000. I later discovered that not 1 dollar I had paid into the furnace had gone towards the cost. Upon asking why I was told all payments are rental fees. The furnace must be bought after the fact for an extra $8000. I fought with them for many months and in the end they came and took the Furnace, I thought. Now it is 9 months later. Simply green is still trying to take money from me and also trying to harm my credit. I do not own the house the furnace was installed in and more importantly I do not have a simply green Furnace. Again no house, no furnace for 9 months and still being charged every month. I have tried to talk to simply green but they won't say anything other than "we will wreck your credit"

Canada | 30 January 2017When I went from living in an apartment to owning a home, I knew nothing about heating and cooling systems. A friend suggested that I call Simply Green and ask them to conduct an analysis of the unit at my new home. It was the best advice I could have received. The service rep inspected the system and taught me how to use all the features, even the ones that I didn’t know were there. Now they also provide the maintenance and take care of repairs when necessary. Thanks to Simply Green, I never worry about what the weather’s like outside. Inside, it’s always perfect.
