Purchased the lite 2 as a next morning check! The product appears to work well, the display is clear and fairly quick to respond. The instructions were not as clear as they could be, but it's not difficult to work out. I would recommend this but it is safer not to drink too much if you are driving the next day.

Bought AlcoSence Elite 3 Breathalyser to replace my Elite model which had used for a number of years especially when working. I often visited customer sites early in the morning and zero tolerance of Alcolhol ( and drugs) was in force with their own testing. My initial trials with it showed the decreasing alcohol level over a number of hours early in the morning to Zero (LO) Alcolhol (to two decimal places) Easy to use after initial familiarity, with this compact unit. As the suppliers state, only drive with Zero (LO) Alcolhol and that you otherwise feel well and not tired

I exchanged a very old device for a new Pro model, directly with the company. This got me a £30 discount. It arrived very quickly indeed. The reason I went with the Pro is because at least once a year we drive to Southern Italy, often going vie an indirect route taken in different countries. So, I wanted a model which has the different limits for different countries, which this has. Once you have changed the country, when you open the device again, it will always display to you the country and it’s limit. This is important, as for instance the machine will tell you not to drive if you have a reading of 0.22mg/l, for example in Italy; but you would know from the opening screen that the country’s limit is 0.24mg/l, so you could drive legally. The machine also tells you “sober in….X.H Y.M” this is what it says “sober” ie nearly free of alcohol, not legal to drive. I would actually like the machine to give me the choice to tell me the time it would be legal to drive, or to be sober. Does this make me a dangerous driver? The machine is very easy to use. After taken about 8 units of alcohol at home, I monitored the readings for 3 hours. I nearly got a straight linear line when I graphed them, which is what you would expect. As stated, the machine tells you how long to be sober. If I took a reading 40 minutes after the previous the countdown would also be 40 minutes less than before, perhaps give or take 1 or 2 minutes, again very good. So, they is much to like about the machine, and I am glad I got it. Put they are issues…. They are problems with the instructions and the website. They are not huge, in themselves, but they make you think …if they have these things are wrong, (and so easy to fix) what other items are incorrect which I have not spotted? I note they is an online copy of the instructions but as far as I can tell they are the same that came with the machine. Surly the point of online instructions is they can be updated very easily. The instructions tell you not to use the breathalyser within 10 minutes of taking a drink. The machine on it’s opening screens tells you it should be 30 minutes. The instructions tell you to check for software updates, using the versions numbers from the machine and the website. My breathalyzer had version 1.01.49 installed, the website said incorrectly the latest version was 1.01.42. It is now 2023. The instruction book, remember online instructions, said the information table for limits in different countries was correct in 2015. Why not update the online information book, and tell me they are at least correct from last year. And while they were doing that, they could update the price of the optional case for my machine which is also wrong in the online and printed instructions, when compared to the website. Before I posted this, I contacted Alcosence for a comment on some of these issues. I received I very prompt and helpful replay. Among other things, they said their website needs updating. They also said, drink drive limits rarely change and the last to do so was Scotland in December 2014. So, the information I have dated 2015 is correct. They also said the units going out have the latest software, and they are also checked for this when they are re calibrated. Before buying the unit, I also emailed them saying I had no idea of the model name I was returning for a rebate. Again, I received a very prompt and helpful replay with the information I needed. Originally, I was going to remove at least 1 star for the incorrect information they show in their website and instructions. However, I am very impressed with the customer service I received vie email, so 5 stars after all.
