Great course that forces you to be exact and learn the details of navigation, and seamanship. I thought I knew my stuff but the course pushed me to really know the details. The only thing I would like to have had is lots and lots of questions, to get some repetition to really make it sink in. But that maybe is just me, and is really just a nice "to have" I suppose.

I have just completed the Day Skipper theory course. I found the structure of learning to be excellent. The coursework guided me through all the core concepts in a logical and progressive way, building on earlier lessons while introducing new material. The animations and feedback through the end of section quizzes were very helpful. This is perfect if you enjoy a balance of self-teaching but with a structure provided for you. Many thanks to the staff assigned to my course, who replied rapidly to any of my queries, and were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend, and will use Navathome for future courses I wish to take.

The RYA Day Skipper course was really a challenge! It took me about two months and I usually spent a couple hours a day. I will admit I am a bit slow and my wife went through it faster. I grew up around the water and boats but now I know a ton more about boating than when I started. Tides, course plotting, buoyage, anchorage, safety and on and on!!! I recommend this for serious boaters!!!

Excellent materials and help when needed. Easy to follow, but substantial in their expectations. This makes me feel confident & secure on the water.

Very thorough on-line training coupled with an excellent team that provide patient(!) and very helpful support. I didn't have time to attend a class-based course and the on-line version worked brilliantly for me as I could run through the lessons, and tests whenever I had time. The instant feedback is also great when trying to figure out learning gremlins...

I had been considering doing the RYA Day Skipper Theory course for some time and once completed, to then follow-on with a Day Skipper Practical course. Having considered different ways to study the theory, I felt the online course was best for my circumstances, when compared with attendance at ‘classroom’ sessions, involving a specific time commitment & travel. I chose NAVATHOME’s course as the level of detail and way it was structured looked really good on their website. The course is divided up into 12 sections, each section containing a number of sub-sections. You can go back/revisit previous sections, or jump forward to a different subject at any time. The important thing being, the main menu keeps a tab on what has been fully completed, so you can’t miss anything. There are excellent illustrations and animations to ensure the material is thoroughly understood, and lots of tests along the way; test results / feedback are instant. Staff are also at hand to respond to emails if more clarity is required. All in all, - a really excellent course, with great support from the NAVATHOME team.

An efficient company that provides everything you need materials wise with a good learning portal (it’s quite fun, interesting and addictive), and fast email feedback for any queries. They do leave you to your own devices quite a lot, but that is apparently a strategy to reflect the nature of skippering a yacht. It’s a good idea but I think it would have helped me to know this at the outset as it would have changed my mindset to some of the questions. All in all, a good provider.

I recently completed the Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Offshore Theory course with Navathome and I must say that it was an amazing experience. The learning material was great, well documented and thorough. I liked in particular the recap tests at the end of many modules as a very useful tool to rehearse the concepts, and also the many practical exercises. The instructors are friendly and very quick in their replies. After completing the course, I received a password and I can use and access the course lifetime to revise and refresh the theory. I highly recommend Navathome for RYA courses and assessments.

Completed the Day Skipper online theory course and it was excellent. Really enjoyed studying with them and the support was fantastic, really quick and helpful at all times. Would highly recommend.

Excellent and challenging content, great instructors

The courses are very well structured. You can see there are lots of lessons learned applied for continuous improvement. Instructors are very knowledgeable and do push and try to plug the detected "knowledge gaps", as it should be. :) I highly recommend. :)
