Brilliant support from the staff and they reply within minutes even at 7PM on a Sunday! The only thing I would suggest to the team is that you really could modernise the lessons a bit. Check out stuff like Seneca learning etc these are A* platforms and if your course was that interactive etc it would be 5*. Lastly…if you’re going to put drawing a GPS ladder in the day skipper exam then perhaps get us to do that in the learning phase? It wasn’t covered in depth at all so I was surprised to be asked to draw one when I was shown in learning.

The course materials are very good and the course supervisors are really responsive and helpful. It is also useful that you can do the course in your own time to suit you,

The Tutors are very helpful and usually reply to any questions by email within 5 to 10 minutes. While the course assessments can be very challenging, they are very fair with allowing you to submit corrections. Every incorrect answer must be corrected within 24 hours so you really learn and will never forget the subject material. Highly recommended! 5 Star

Good review of RYA content with exercises to reinforce the learning.

I really enjoyed the learning even if surprised at times how much content was in the course. The various topics were introduced in a sensible order with some basic competent crew knowledge (which I had forgotten) thrown in first to build confidence. Safety, regulations and course plotting were inter woven well so that I didn't get bored of any one thing and gave a chance to consolidate knowledge. I particularly liked being able to work at my own pace, sometimes making notes to consolidate learning of the many buoys/shapes/light and sounds etc, sometimes working quickly on arithmetic and geometry I was more comfortable with. The exam/assessment questions were of a familiar style but different enough to test; I only felt that there was one 'curve ball' question (that I did not recall being in the course) and one (or possibly two) that I felt was a bit vague in what it was asking for. Help was available by email and queries were answered in good time, particularly during the day here in England. Bought as a gift so not sure on value for money but would recommend to anyone who likes studying alone like me.

I recently took a RYA Day Skipper theory online course with Navathome. The course and service was excellent. I live in China and Georgina and her colleagues responded promptly to my questions even at weekends. This gave me confidence and enabled me to pass the final assessment. I plan to take the Coastal Skipper theory next with Navathome after the Day Skipper practical with Learn2Sail in March.

Easy to book and very complete course material. Challenging tutorial questions which really make you work to understand the material thoroughly. The help from the NavAtHome support team was always very quick both by e-mail and phone. They showed great flexibility in coordinating my invigilated exam at a RYA centre abroad near my home. Proof of the pudding: I passed first time!

Daunting at first but it’s a well structured course that will prepare you for the final assessment. Good materials with great back up tutorial support.

I liked the online format with modules that can be completed at your own pace and time. This allowed me to fit around work and play. I take in information well when reading and working at my pace, so this course worked really well for me.
