Best driving instructors in derby by far. I’ve been taking lessons with zaf and his dad Haji Akhtar both very nice people make you feel comfortable and don’t judge when making mistakes. Highly recommend

I had the privilege of learning with Zaf and his father, Haji Akhtar. Both are very knowledgable, experienced and professional instructors; with very nice cars! I had difficulty with available time as I work and they always did their best to work around this for me and I passed very quickly once I bought a pack of 10 lessons. Passed on first attempt like many other A1 students. Highly recommended.

A1 driving school the best around. Located in derby they are by far the best driving school to take lessons from. Having moved from other instructors I can honestly say lessons with A1 (Zaf) felt a joy to do whereas in previous experiences they felt like a chore! Worth every penny as I passed not so long ago and done so in quick succession ☺️ Zaf helped me go through the objectives step by step and provided me with the skills and confidence to pass so quickly! The results speak for themselves as A1 have now expanded out of derby and have several cars on the road accommodating for both males and females. Not only do they provide support with the practical lessons but they also help with the theoretical side too. If you’re looking for lessons look no further, literally! And yes Zaf gives lessons in a Golf R which no one else does 😱 they just keep setting standards!

Just completed my first lesson with Zaf in the Golf R. Zaf's a brilliant instructor and always goes above and beyond when explaining what is needed to drive safely. Booking was very easy and prompt, I was able to get a lesson just 5 days after ringing in. If anyone out there is after lessons, with experience or not, I recommend A1 Driving School. Overall a pleasure, I look forward to completing more lessons with Zaf.

I was recommended A1 driving school from a close friend. At the time they had 2 cars on the road. My Instructor Zafran was amazing, from not knowing the pedals to being a confident driver I couldn’t ask for a better instructor. Zaf helped me prepare for my theory and practical test in good time. I was able to contact him direct and instant replies to book lessons and my test. Now they have decorated Derby streets with A1 instructor cars it speaks for itself. Came to A1 Driving School with barley any driving experience and my confidence was low from previous driving school. I came to A1 Driving School because I wanted to pursue a career as a driving instructor. Zaf provided me with all the necessary training to pass each of my 3 tests. The training sessions were always very informative and clearly broken down. I am now a fully qualified driving instructor ( ADI qualified) and I am very confident and happy with the tuition I provide to my students. A1 driving school is the best school in derby. I had a previous instructer that dident go well so i was recomeded by my frend to A1. My instructor was uncul Akhtar from A1 he was very helpull person. He would make sour that you fully understand and guides you when You have weaknesses even when i was going to give up on driving he was the best and making me confident at driving so thats why i would highly recomend A1 school. And a big thank you once againe to uncul Akhtar :)

The best driving school A1 and Specially MR Zaf, he is the best instructor he now's when u a ready to go and pass the best thing about them is they will not let u to go until u are ready when I first time start with MR zaff he didn't want to let me go for my test he say to me that to early but I dint lessen to him and I failed but second time MR zaff dint let me go till I was properly ready for it and I pass.
