We are a Milton Keynes based B2B asset finance brokerage. This year we have had more clients requesting loan facilities than in the previous 29 years we have been trading put together! We needed a good home for these loans. After trying several lenders who said that they specialized in commercial loans I found poor underwriting turnaround and a catalogue of requirements, most of which seemed irrelevant. Merchant Money were different. Our proposal for a 24 month unsecured loan of £25,000 was agreed the next day and paid out the day after that. No pointless rigmarole and an ability to meet deadlines. The client was very impressed. Interest rates are roughly in line with those offered by other commercial loan lenders We are sure to be trying Merchant Money again for both secured and unsecured commercial loan business.

Quick process and no hassle involved. Professional service!!

We needed funds to expand our business in the coming months, new stock purchases, marketing etc..... I did an extensive search on Google and found Merchant Money. I was having difficulty registering initially, I then noticed I could speak to somebody via the online chat. (I won't mention any names) Initially said person was very polite and proceeded to help me as you would expect. Said person then began emailing us, asking for the required documents which were ready and waiting, bar one document, with which said it was fine to proceed without. Throughout the website it states a fair number of times "quick easy application" "no fuss" "funds in 48hrs" - completely not the case. The application went through on the Tuesday, all the documents were presented by Wednesday. Then communication stopped. I contacted them on the Friday and I received a reply late on by the same person manning the online chat saying "Sorry for the delay, I will update you before the weekend" 5 o clock came and no update throughout the weekend, or on the Monday, I emailed again, no reply, then again, no reply, I then again accessed the online chat (Same person again) presented my query, within minutes said person had replied to my email address, with no reply on the online chat... at this point I started to get the feeling that I was more of a nuisance than someone they wanted to help out.. The reply to our email stated that "Its was with the underwriters and THEY will be in touch with you as soon as they have completed the checks" Again, two days passed no reply, I then emailed the same person again to which I received a reply... "Without a hello, how are you..." "Sorry we can't help you, you are not a homeowner and you have bad credit" This didn't come from the underwriters it came from the same person manning the online chat, said person had passed me from pillar to post through the whole ordeal. Throughout the website and FAQ's there is no mention of needing to be a homeowner or having perfect credit. It just states to be eligible; "Provided you have been registered with Companies House as a trading Ltd company for at least 24 months, you are eligible to apply." As WE HAVE!! I then asked if I could comment on their service I received and how I felt. Including the points I made above in an email. Yet this fell on deaf ears with, again, no reply. I don't usually leave reviews but this person drove me to this. The next day I applied with another company, who completely understood our business and helped us along the way, I set here a short while later with successfully securing funding. Pointing more towards the fact that we were just a nuisance application and they couldn't be bothered to look at it, or respond to my queries. Please avoid.
