United Kingdom | 23 February 2025Misleading Marketing company! Do not buy from them! Choose Royal Mint instead! Selling Gibraltar coins, not UK. Ordered King Charles III: God Save the King coin in 23rd December 2024, received it on 20th February 2025. The coin is issued in Gibraltar, with nominal:HALF CROWN. Found online, that a half crown was worth two shillings and sixpence which is worth 12.5p in modern day decimal currency. It's not worth anything to a bank. Should have properly explained it to customers. Also, there was no info with the delivery about specific coin. Instead London Mint managed to add marketing materials about another collection, where each coin costs £39.95 and probably are from Gibraltar and not worth anything as well in nominal terms.

United Kingdom | 22 February 2025So, my review concerns my experience of using the web chat to cancel an order and delete my data from their systems. The web chat representative is 5 stars. They explained clearly and I was happy with the service they offered me. Just to contextualise, the London mint took nearly two months to post an item, which I had emailed to cancel a week before it was posted. When I was questioning when it would arrive I kept getting the answer "soon" with no expected dates.

United Kingdom | 22 February 2025I had responded to an advert for the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Banknote Collection, advertised as including 5 'Banknote', (representations), in platinum foil. The first being of the original 1960 £1 note at an introductory price of £19.95 plus P&P of £3.95. Subsequent notes to be dispatched were: 1964 Series C £10; 1970 Series D £20; 1971 Series D £5; 1990 Series E £5. Each to be invoiced at £39.95 plus P&P. After receiving and paying for the first note, I made arrangements to receive the remainder of the collection in one purchase - as it had been on offer from 2022 and I wished to avoid a delay waiting a period of months to collect the remainder of the set. This was agreed, with the added bonus that, by doing so, I would also save on multiple postages with only the single £3.95 P&P charge due, (plus £159.80 for the remaining notes, for a total of £163.75), this taking the total cost for the collection to £187.65. I was pleased with this arrangement as, despite the fairly high cost, the attractively designed presentation folder containing the notes set would complement my other Queen Elizabeth Platinum Anniversary pieces and would sit nicely in my QEII collection which is quite important to me. The second, (series C £10), banknote was issued alone due to an error resulting from crossed communication only, and was received on 21/01/25, (invoiced for the total of £39.95 with no postage fee). This was paid by card over the phone on 31/01/25 on receipt of a reminder. During that call to make payment, I re-affirmed my interest in receiving the rest of the collection in one order, and had until today, (21/02/25), been awaiting their arrival. My problem only presented itself this morning, when I phoned to check on the progress with the remaining three notes, calling in on the 'outbound sales number', (020 8187 9777), and speaking to 'Jean', in customer service, who - before confirming my query - had additional information regarding the collection, now involving a 'completion' piece... unfortunately she was not able to fully explain this addition very well beyond mentioning it to be a gold coin at a price of £500, bringing the new total cost to £687.65 I reminded that the set I was collecting was the Platinum Banknote Collection asking if the 'coin' was a platinum medallion in 'style' of a note but Jean was unable to tell me any more other than to state the collection would increase in rarity to now be only one of 5,000 issued. I was disconnected. without further from Jean and called back to the Customer Care No., (0330 024 1001), speaking to Gabby who had the details to hand and who referred to it instead as a 'Pinnacle Piece'. A '2 Crown' coin, of 9ct gold, at 8g referring to a 1970 '50 pence note' which had been designed but not issued, which was required to complete the set at a cost of £500. This would then increase my total cost for the collection to £687.65. During all of my discussions with the customer service team up until this point there was never any mention of this additional piece. I felt aggrieved at this and somewhat insulted as I had had several friendly calls up until this stage with plenty of opportunity for this to have been brought up... The coin, being only 9 carat gold with platinum overlay would not fit in my platinum collection nor would it sit with my, (22 carat), QEII sovereign set, nor my silver proof commemorative crown pieces etc. At this stage I felt I could do nothing other than cancel the remainder of the order and disconnected my call in some anger and disappointment. This of course leaving me in possession of, (and having paid for), two disparate parts of a collection I would never have commenced with in the first instance, had I been aware of the nature of the final piece... and out of pocket to the tune of £63.85. It was then I decided to leave a review on Trustpilot and whilst doing so noted that The London Mint Office promised to respond to all significantly negative reviews. I took this opportunity and, (prior to making this interim edit which I have amended to the precis above), provided a much fuller chronological account of my dispute. This resulted in a call back from Kristie, a customer service manager, who had taken ownership of my case. A solution is in motion at present and I am now awaiting returns labels for the two banknotes after which point I am assured of a full refund of my outlay. As a gesture also, in compensation for my time lost and upset, Kristie has kindly dispatched me a small silver piece which arrived today, 28/02/25, (The Silver Sovereign 2024 'Captive of History' Proof - Charles III OBV), This will sit nicely with my silver proofs in my KCIII collection). I will update further re return and refund but am quite satisfied with this resolution as offered if all goes as expected. Thank you, Kristie Mark

United Kingdom | 22 February 2025Awful business. Bought one coin that I wanted, next minute they are on the phone trying to sell me 6 more, told them I'd think about it, didn't hear back, then 6 come though the post with an invoice and an incorrect set. Rang them to discuss returning them, they they try to sell me another one and I say no thanks, 5 mins later someone else is ringing me trying to sell me more. Anyway, sent them all back and since then I'm bombarded with texts, emails and letters telling me that my invoice is overdue and demanding payment, threatening late payment interest etc for an incorrect set that I never wanted in the first place and that I've long since returned.
