There was no response by any solar companies to my initial application, nor anything after I eamiled ASQ to say that I had received no quotes. Neither has has ASQ contacted me with an explanation. I assume it's because I'm rural, but no one has confirmed that for me. I'm sure it's proabably a much better service with metro people.

Funnily enough,I only heard back from one of the companies who were supposedly in the trio you had organised to email me to organise a quote,and this one was quite some time after I first contacted you.By this time I had already contacted Lumax Solar quite independently of contacting you!! But it is all okay.I had gotten so many great questions from your site for me to ask about Solar Panel Systems,and this was my real reason for emailing you anyway!!! I had earlier that same week received a special offer from Lumax Solar, which was simply too good to not look into further;so I rang them and a very knowledgable rep came out and spent nearly 2 whole hours with me, explaining every little thing which your site had suggested I ask about!! So I do send you my heartfelt thanks for the advice! After really going into a lot of detail about the product and the place of manufacture/warranty fulfillment etc,I decided to go with the special offer of 4KW for the the price of 3,(i.e.16 x 265w panels instead of 12) which, with me living in Townsville where we have so very few overcast days in any year,will provide me with way more power than I actually shall need! It actually works out to 4.3 KW and as I live alone,it shall have paid for itself within a very short period of time! The truly wonderful thing is that, as I have an illness which causes my body to be unable to regulate its temperature,I use my Air-conditioning throughout the DAY rather than at night.This means that it shall be cheaper than I could have ever dreamed of, to be comfortably cool throughout the heat of the day! My home is extremely well insulated so by night time, the interior of the house is always delightfully cool with little need to use the A.C during those later hours, unless we are going through a particularly hot period. I have had it hard wired to the very cheapest rate for many years now so as to benefit from Ergon's cheapest rate for A.C,and this has been of enormous financial help to me. Happily,I can now look forward to being able to use the a.c. all day long for little or no cost at all!! I am ever so pleased that I had checked out your most helpful site before going ahead with signing up with any solar company. I had absolutely NO idea what I would need to be asking before I did so!! We got plenty of email and phone contact straight away after our on-line request...chose to use Dollar Solar and the experience was quick and generally very easy...and at a very competitive price... Installed a 10KW system in two panel arrays facing best directions for maximum generation across the day and are delighted with the power levels being produced. Dollar Solar organised everything...important for us 25km outside Bathurst... Only tip...sometimes photos of your meter board(s) can be misleading as to whether you have two or three phase power...so insist on a physical inspection by the planned installer's electrician. This will avoid last-minute need for changes to planned Inverter(s).

No quote was given, no-one contacted me and if this is how you conduct business then I would prefer not to deal with you in the future and I would recommend others do the same.

So far the company RK Solar consultants, chosen from your recommendations, has provided detailed analysis of our needs and been very personal in their quoting and followup. We have agreed to their terms for a Micro Inverter System and are awaiting their time frame for installation within the next 6 weeks. So far so good. Paul
