Having tried a few anti-spam plugins and methods, we tried Cleantalk. It hasn't disappointed.

I have been using Cleantalk Anti-Spam and CleanTalk Security for over a year now and it's been great. They have literally blocked thousands of spam messages from my 3 websites to date. The spam and message logs are easy to view and whitelist in case the system is a little "too good" too. I was having some false positives in CleanTalk Security for my own form submissions (as it was checking for spam submissions to my form) and there was the option to "Send for Analysis", which was useful. After a few days of repeatedly sending items for analysis, one of the CleanTalk members got in touch, to let me know what a cause of this could be. He sent me screenshots with directions and next thing you know, my site was working again. As such, I would say the system works and customer service works too. I suppose the customer emails could be spruced up a little in terms of branding, but in general this is a really good service that I've renewed for another year. The prices are reasonable and the bonus months help too (especially now when work is not regular, the prices are still affordable, which I appreciate!) Keep up the good work CleanTalk!

Excellent plugin. I personally found it a bit tricky at first to get the hang of it, to find where is what, but it is working great now. Incoming spam has been reduced massively, I could sort out fake accounts and the likes. The registration is protected as are the comments and reviews. I went for the paid version which is definitely value for money and can highly recommend this plugin.

Cleantalk is the best antispam at the better cost.
