United Kingdom | 04 January 2022I bought a dartington crystal dinner service from a well known department store that turned out not to be made by dartington crystal despite them putting their markers stamp on them. Unfortunately after a short time the plates I bought believing they were made by Dartington Crystal tarnished and marked quite badly. I got in touch with Dartington and they told me they hadn't actually made them - they had been made by the other store but had been approved by Dartington but that the plates would have passed Dartington Crystals quality control. When I explained that clearly these plates and bowls had fallen short of their quality control they just passed all responsibility on to the department store. While I appreciate that it is the department store that has misled me and sold me an inferior product, it is hugely disappointing that Dartington have completely passed all responsibility on despite allowing the department store to make the products and sell them under their name. They barely offered an apology.

United Kingdom | 25 November 2021have just made a first purchase from Dartington, a crystal vase for a family birthday. The service was excellent, within minutes of ordering, we had a follow-up email with an expected delivery (next day, as it happened and nothing extra to pay), then early this morning a delivery time slot down to one hour, which was exactly when it was delivered. The item is as good as it looked online, and was very securely and safely packaged. Thoroughly satisfied customer!!

The only attraction is the factory tour but if you miss the start time by as much as a minute (please note not clearly advertised) you are condemned to wander around the insipid visitor centre for at least an hour and to be treated like an absolute inconvenience.

United Kingdom | 17 December 2020I ordered a 40th birthday gift for my wife, with engraving. I ordered it late. I spoke to the customer services, they promised to do what they could & they achieved - the glasses arrived on my wife's birthday. Ordered Sunday, delivered Wednesday. Fantastic service.

United Kingdom | 27 October 2020Visited Today, was ordered out of the kitchen shop by a incredibly rude shop assistant.Had two young children needing to visit the bathrooms and had not been counted in,nobody on the door and told aggressively to leave as there was two many in the shop. If this is the case I should of been made to be aware of the number allowed in the shop when I entered and not to be spoken to out loud like I was in front of all the other customers . I shall not be returning and as a local will not recommend . I was so embarrassed to be ordered out of the shop having no idea I was breaking any rules. The shop assistant even went as far as putting her coat on to escort me marching me to another toilet. Making me feel totally embarrassed and humiliated. Other customer’s even commented on her appalling attitude and left so I could use the facility, still this wasn’t allowed and I was forded outside in the rain with my two children .

There was a delay in receiving the order due to the extra lead up time for this during the uk lockdown. However, when I inquired about it they made extra effort to make sure the order was dispatched immediately and compensated me for the delay. The vase is beautiful and my mum loves it. Would highly recommend.

What I originally wanted wouldn't have been suitable and I was swiftly advised of this and was instead given alternative options to suit me, the communication turn around was within an hour, I was so impressed. Not only on this point but to my own error I did not attach a photo with the product I wanted and the sales team were in touch via email within minutes advising me that I had not done this and asked me to email them directly back, they also advised me on the wording length and what might be more suitable to fit on the product, I felt the service was second to none and very personal. I waited for my purchase to arrive which said it would take 3 days, however it only took 2 working days. I was impressed when opening it, the quality of the product is excellent, as is the packaging it comes in - I really think that the service provided to me was excellent from verbal right through to product completion. I will definitely be using this company again, very refreshing to get a seamless end to end service.

United Kingdom | 30 April 2018I received a glitz vase as a gift but unfortunatly the first time it was washed in accordance with the instructions it cracked, I made contact with the well known store where it was bought but as it was over a year since it had been purchased they refused to do any thing about it so I made contact with Dartington the manufactures and explained to customer service the problem and the fact that we had had it over a year but the vase had never been washed before. They told me to send photos and they would be able to resolve the problem and replace the vase but unfortunatly the design had been discontinued. They could not have been more helpful and I have just received a beautiful new vase more expensive than the original, and the whole matter was sorted in less than a week, what a wonderful service and a credit to the company. We are very grateful.

Spain | 20 September 2016Products are nice but customer service is very very poor. My last order of 6 vases was sent on Sept 1st to be delivered in Italy. Delivery confirmed after 1 week. Customer Service is very quick to ask for payment in advance but after 20 days I'm still waiting for my items. I wrote several times to Bethany Britton and Julie Henderson (Customer Service and Sales Administrator) to check about delivery and no answers at all! No information on-line. Will I get my items??????????

They managed to rush through a very last minute order with engraving for me in 24 hours from order to delivery. The email response has been very quick and the crystal glasses are truly beautiful. I bought another gift with them today and the service has been of the same very high standard. After having a few negative online shopping experiences recently it's been refreshing to deal with a company that still really cares about customer service. I'll definitely be using them again for future present buying.

United Kingdom | 13 December 2015Advertise free UK delivery but on reading fine print you discover UK delivery is £29 According to their stated delivery charges it is cheaper to deliver to other European countries than some parts of the U.K. Emailed them to ask to query the cost and was told they could do nothing only pass it on to their website team. No explanation,no further action. Apparently it costs approximately the same to post to Belfast or the Isle of Wight as it does to Portugal or Sweden and more And feel really sorry for the Channel Islands - apparently they are more costly to get to than Canada So unless you can satisfy yourself you actually really do quality for free delivery buy off the vast majority of similar goods manufacturers who can manage free uk delivery to Royal Mail designated mainland uk with no unpleasant surprises in the small print.

United Kingdom | 17 April 2013I had ordered 6 x packs of Dartington Wine Master Glasses from China Chaps (Snodland in Kent) way back in January. Despite repeated chase-ups by telephone calls and emails, and much to my surprise, China Chaps let me down BIG time, blaming repeated delays of delivery on Dartington Glass and "production problems" (BTW - China Chaps were very quick at taking my money when I first placed my order, strangely!). Out of frustration, I decided to contact Dartington Glass directly, only to discover that there was no supply problem (and never had been) - it would seem that China Chaps are not a very good retailer who are prone to bending the truth! Dartington Glass took control of my problem, offered to supply my order direct, matching China Chap's 50% reduction in cost price and then managed to deliver the items within 24 hours. Gold star for Dartington Glass and top marks for their commercial savvy and first-class customer service. The rotten banana award goes to China Chaps, who had the cheek to bad-mouth Dartington Glass - shame on them. A heartfelt "Thank You" to Dartington Glass.
